***** May 2015 Mummies to be *****

31 weeks today - went out and bought the very last bits needed for baby's arrival. Now all I have to do is wait...and yes, it's exciting and frightening at the same time.

I think it is terrifying how quickly this is coming round!! I still have SO much to do! I'm pleased I'm not the only one who has started to find it quite frightening that there will very soon be another tiny little person to look after!!!

You're not the only one for sure.

When the calendar ticked over to March I had a thought that if any of us early ones deliver early, we'll actually start with some April babies!

Seriously, I am having a panic attack.... Eeeeek!!!!

We've still got to get a few bits and bobs to buy, which we will do this weekend. Then I can relax. If the baby doesn't turn and I have to have a c section, I think I'd be more chilled as I'd know EXACTLY when we will meet baba. (Even though surgery is not ideal....)

Orion I just said that to OH yesterday! Not much in it for him to be an April baby!! That's NEXT MONTH!!!!!!

Exactly willowburn! Once April comes, all bets are off

Quick question...

Wondered if anyone is doing the count the kick thing??

I know from general conversations that we're all pretty aware of patterns of movement and things and I'm becoming more and more aware of that. But the wrist bands and app type idea i think would just panic me more than anything?? Wondered if anyone was using them and found them really helpful or visa versa?

I can't wait to see what order we all give birth in! I wonder who will be first? I am thinking Caseysmummy with her twinnies.

Ringworm is a fungal infection that is extremely contagious!!! Comes in the form of a red round rash with a clear bit in the middle (hence name) and is itchy.

I'm sure I will get over it but feeling so down and tired . Just want the next few weeks to go quickly so that I can leave work. And then the fun bit starts of getting EVERYTHING ready for baby.

Feel like I need a good cry at the moment

Elliott, I've looked at both but I think I would forget I had them and never use them properly so I am not bothering. Their website is quite good for info though.

Hi ladies, had a busy day out shopping bloody world book day and costume making is such a faff haha!!

Got MW at 2.50pm so interested to see what she will say about baby's position?!

Bigbee I'm getting a ball tonight so going to try that, I've also been looking at "spinning babies" as well for different positions and such to get baby to turn. Re yours being breech, my son was breech right up until the last few weeks and he suddenly turned(after alot of walking) was so painful though!!

I so wonder who will be first to have their baby!! Exciting!!

I'm not counting kicks. I just pay attention to the pattern, for instance, I know the baby moves first thing in the morning, lunchtime and in the evening. Well, this is because I am more stationary. Today, however, baba has been going mental!!!

Flosi, I hope it clears up soon. I can imagine it's very frustrating.

Button, thank you. I am hoping baba will move. I've got a ball at home (that's why they moved in the first place!!!). Need to increase my walking though......

I keep wondering who will be first! It won't be me though, I'm more likely to be last going by my track record lol.

Hello ladies, had my scan and consultant appointment! Feel so much better after speaking to her. Babies are weighing good! Baby a is 2lb 10 and baby b 2lb 4. Although I have found out today that my twins are not classed as mo/di (share a placenta with their own water sac) but are actually mo/mo ( share a placenta and in the same water sac) which is actually higher risk than before because they can get their cords tangled up and possibly get in knots if that makes sense. They told me they had separate waters at my 12 week scan but have struggled to see these separating membrane since. My consultant is happy with their growth and progress though as they are following their curves on the chart so growing nicely, she's not concerned about my pains as they've stopped now but if I get anything like it again to ring straightaway to be assessed as im high risk for preterm labour, my pain in hip and tightness in bump won't get any better she said until their born so to take warm baths and paracetamol to ease it. She sees no need to refer me to fetal medicine either with them growing so well and cords and waters are fine. I forgot to as about my gd results but I assume if they'd come back as id got it she would have said but will ask at next appointment I think unless I geta letter before then. Oh and she said 34 weeks is classed as term for twins so I may go into labour naturally by then if not she's booking me a csection at 36 weeks by the 24th April for them to be born! That's only just over 7 weeks away! It's really hitting home that I'll have my babies by the end of next month! Excited and scared!
Going to ring payroll tomorrow to check on the money situation but saw my supervisor after scan and they hadn't rang her. So im going to keep pestering til I get it!

Hope your appointments gone well button!

Hope everyone else is okay too!

Also im not counting kicks as such but monitoring their pattern and if im concerned i see if I can get them to move by having a cold drink/food and lying on my left and if not ill go up for monitoring to be on the safe side, I think as long as you follow your gut even if babies moving but not quite like normal or as much as usual it's worth getting checked to be on the safe side xxx

Hi all,

Just been catching up with all the posts.

Caseysmummy thats great news about the twins being on track with their growth and that all is going well, you have to stay with us May mummies even if you have them in April :-)

Elliot - not using anything to count the kicks/movements, but am keeping a mental note as I seem to know her pattern now of when I feel her.

Bigbee - I'm with you on the panic, as much as this baby is very much planned its still terrifying isn't it. I can't believe how quickly the time is going!!

Button and bigbee I got sent a link from our pregnancy yoga lady about sifting, thats supposed to help get baby in the correct position. I'll post it tonight as can't access it at the moment (still at work shhh)

Hope everyone's ok xx

Caseysmummy, my friend had a planned twin c-section last week, she was exactly 37 weeks. They weighed 5lbs 4oz and 4lbs 7oz. They're adorable!

Thats great mayflower! Its reassuring to hear that they were a fairly decent size as im hoping mine will be and the more i read it seems thats normal weight for twin babies. im so excited to see their little faces now, I crocheted a headband with a bow on last night for one and im going to do another for the other tonight i think i found the pattern in my knitting magazine i had bought a while ago and i keep picturing them in them, ive done it bigger for when they'll be about 3 months or older i think to wear with their little dresses they've got in that size, my pictures wont upload on my phone anymore so will have to put them on the computer of my little projects ive done to update you all on what ive done so far.
Will definitely stick with the may mummies as ive got to know you all over this journey plus i cant wait to hear about your little ones being born and hopefully seeing some pictures of them.
This afternoon it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and that i no longer have to be as worried about their progress anymore xxx

Back from MW appt all well with us, had bloods for antibodies and iron levels. Listened to heartbeat for a good while which was lovely, still transverse and very high she said which is causing alot of pain for me and breathing issues!!

Re her position if she hasn't turned by 34 weeks appt then i will go to see consultant for manual turning(if i want) if no luck its csection at 36 weeks!! Eeeep!! That's scary!

We spoke alot about homebirth incase she turns etc which was lovely she is really keen on them and such a lovely mw :)

Ps glad things are good with little ones now and you're a May mummy no matter when you give birth, as with all of us :)

I've just ordered a waterproof mattress protector from Dunelm for our bed - just in case lol
