Midwife appointment went very well. She gave me a sweep and said it's one of the easiest sweeps she's ever done, and things look very promising. I'm 2cm dilated, probably a bit more but she prefers to underestimate, and she gave me a really good sweep to try and get things going. After warning me beforehand that if she can't find the Cervix she won't try because it'll be too uncomfortable and won't do any good, I was expecting the worst so I'm very chuffed!
Induction is booked for the 17th but she said I probably won't need it and if I do it'll be very straightforward as my body is preparing itself already!
She also cheekily referred me for a growth scan even though I measured fine, because it's nice to know how baby is getting on at this stage! He's looking lovely and moving about fine and is approximately 8 and a half pounds, so he'll be a nice chunky baby but not too big!

Since leaving the midwife I've been fairly uncomfortable but not having any proper pains that I would describe as tightenings. Just the general achey period pain feeling but it's definitely stronger than it has been.

Fingers crossed this is the beginning of something exciting! Just my luck to get a Friday the 13th baby haha.

I am at the hospital as I couldn't see my MW and was told I can come here instead. Just had yet another blood test done. Measuring 36 cm at nearly 38 weeks - need to keep an eye on this...

Husband now also has a bad cold, and so does my dad so fed up with us being ill all the time! :-/

Podpie sounds great! Nik sounds very very promising. Have you heard of "rotate to dilate" - Google it - helps to keep baby's head in contact with the cervix which can help progress labour (think all 4s scrubbing kitchen floor)

What happens I love.. will u be going back for reg checks as ur measuring 2weeks behind?

TTC I will be seeing a MW next Tuesday and she can check if I'm still measuring small. If the difference is over 2 cm, she should send me to a scan. Apart from that nothing happens at the moment. Will need to check my blood results tonight and see if they are still ok.

I'm measuring behind too, i.love. Have been since 38 weeks. But I think I just have a small bump, baby is normal sized

I have back ache all down one side and period pains, but I think it's where the sweep has agitated everything rather than anything beginning! I do feel so excited though lol... Can't shake the feeling that baby is on his way in the next couple of days! I'm really hoping he is

Just checked out rotate to dilate... I've been on my ball all afternoon trying to speed things up! No progress here yet I'm afraid! Slowing down if anything but definitely not stopping. Had hoped babes would be here by now...looks like I'm still going in for my induction tomorrow although not sure what they will do if I'm already contracting!

They may be able to break your waters, or put you on the drip to speed things up Nikki.
Fingers crossed bubba ramps things up overnight for you.
It's important to try and rest just now if you can though, as you'll need plenty of energy later on xx

I think I'm losing my plug. Not entirely sure what it's supposed to look like but it's promising... Lol.

Mine was a massive chunk of clear jelly with my first LO, but it can be snotty coloured/textured discharge or pinky/cream thick discharge. Xx

I have very thick gooey blood streaked discharge, probably been dislodged by the sweep. Hoping this is the plug anyway! I'm watching you've been framed and bouncing/rocking on my ball in time to the music to see if this gets things going..

Snap I was doing the same podpie... bouncing away wile my little lady slept. Its only time I can get on it.. mine was a like a lumpy jelly consistency. . Then when I got hospital I had like a bloody tingy one too.. defo sounds good..
