**** June & July 2013 Mummies and Babies ****

I haven't even thought about it yet but think ill maybe introduce it in afternoon. If she likes it I will change all feeds but if she doesn't (which I have a strong gut feeling she won't) I'm gonna stick with formula

Down side is the expense but I can't have her drop any ounces - she's only on 10 a day as it is! (Not including milk on cereal or yoghurts etc) xx

Harrys been having cows milk for few weeks now I just did it over a few days. Harry was fine with the change x

Hayels sorry to hear you are on crutches! That must be hard work!

I tried her tonight and she drank it fine, so will give her it at night until I go away then start giving her it in morning as well. She's only on two bottles now.

Noahs been on just cows milk for about 1-2weeks now. We did it gradually over about a month swapping his bedtime bottle x

Are you putting the cows milk in a bottle then girls? I had put it in a cup and he seemed to like it but hadnt thought to put it in a bottle. So you can literally replace a bottle with cows milk? Im a daftie sonetimes.

Thanks robyner . It's bit of a nightmare with Harry on the go so much. My mums been great tho amd is helping out loads while my oh is at work. Glad she liked her bottle of cows milk. I honestly don't think harry even noticed the difference when I changed. Xx

He has it in his beaker at 2.30ish with his snack but otherwise morning and night in his bottles still x

Cups and milk just don't seem to work with CR yet. I should maybe persevere but she just cries so I haven't tried a cup in a while. Throughout the day I give her very weak dilute juice in a cup but she never finishes it, sometimes just has a few sips and then plays about with it and gets soaked :( so I feel she just wouldn't end up having any milk of any sort.
Most things have clicked with her but cups are hard work at the moment xx

I just use the nuby beakers with a silicone teat. These seem to work and hes had these from 4ms.
Luckly Noah LOVES water. Wont touch juice or squashes, ive troed but he spits it straight out! But drinks about 5-6oz od water throughout the day x

Emily is fully on cows milk now. Just switched over. She had been getting it for a few months as a wee drink with her meals and liked it. She gets it in a bottle morning and nighttime.

She's got 6 teeth. 2 at the bottom and the 4 at the top. The 4 all came through at the same time! Xx

Ryan had a cows milk allergy so we take him to see a dietician, he was put on special formula until 9 months then we had to wean him back on to normal formula to see if there was any reaction thankfully there wasnt, last week we started giving him afternoon bottles /sippy cups with cows milk, all went well so we just used up the rest of the box of formula we had left and today will be his first full day of cows milk, he drinks it a lot better than he did with formula in a couple of weeks im going to try and change to sippy cups altogether and we go back to dietician on 19th june.

Oooh just read there do we not have to sterilise cups/bottles/ teats anymore?

I thought we didn't need to sterilizse after 6 months? However I chose to do her bottles that had formula in anyway and still am. Never did cups or anything else though.

The only things you need to sterilize after 6 months are items that have had formula in/on. If you are exclusively using cows milk you don't need to x

Ah! I honestly took it to mean everything, but instinctively felt there was no way I wasn't sterilising bottles.
Glad I kept doing it! Xx

Ah thats just made life easier no more boiling kettles and sterilising bottles in microwave woohoo

I am totally baffled about car seats! I've got a headache trying to research it all and I've not got any answers.
CR is still so tiny. I doubt she has reached 18 pounds yet but need to get her weighed soon. She's still in 6-9 clothes.
However her legs are longer than the car seat and her feet are touching the back seats. Is this ok?
My car seat is supposed to be good for ages weight wise but when should they face forward?

I also can't find any answers about the isofix base. Wanted to know if that can be changed to forward facing or do I need to get a new one.

What are you ladies doing? I know CR will be so much happier facing forward but I'm not sure I can do it until she's a higher weight can I? Obviously safety is the priority.

Which car seats do you have?

Xx

We have the maxi cosi pearl fitted on the family fix isofix base (our group 0 car seat the cabriofix went on this too). We only recently moved Josh into this at approx 23lb and that was because his head was near the top of it. His feet have been hanging out for ages - this is perfectly safe, it's the head over the top that's the issue.

We did lots of research and considered extended rear facing but decided against it - for both cost and comfort. xx

We actually have exactly the same seats as Backy1. R has been in the forward facing one for a couple of months as he has been at the weight limit. He wasnt greatly out of the top of it but as he was at the weight I moved him. Its head height not feet. I personally decided if he met the weight or the head height then we were transferring him.

The change in him in the car is like night and day. He really disliked facingthe back and this made some car journeys a real struggle. He loves facing forward. There is perhaps an overload of advice so we stuck to when he reaches weight or above head height and went with it.
