*** July 2019 Mummies ***

Glad you feel ok and I know it’s annoying but Atleast you can be reassured they are looking after you! If it is a chest infection they should give you some good antibiotics to get rid! Hopefully your day isn’t too much longer and you can go home!

I am on my way home with some injections now then back in the morning for a vq scan. Similar to a ct but safer in pregnancy. They still have to inject me woth a radioactive dye though which Im not overly happy about.

Who said pregnancy was easy!
Hope you and everyone else is well and coping in this heat!! Under bump sweat is definitely not the most attractive thing!

We are at higher risk of VTE so I can see why they are checking for a PE. Have you had any chest pain at all? Higher resp rate? Being tachy could be from an infection and hopefully the blood is from coughing trauma like you said but definitely best they keep an eye. At least they let you home. You know dvt signs I’m guessing?
Not what you wanted but better safe than sorry xx

How was the scan?

Mine is tomorrow. They will be running late again I’m sure so this time I am going armed with snacks

As for under bump sweat - I’ve been using roll on for months but now I have more of a cliff than an apron now so it’s not too bad. Been using it under my boobs too :rotfl:
Oh the glamour

I have chest pain (pulled muscle), tachycardia and tachypnoea, BUT I am still fighting an infection AND carrying 2 heavy babies. I suppose they are being safe than sorry. Just waiting to be made radioactive now!
Baby scan tomorrow to check being poorly hasnt affected growth (I highly doubt it!!)

Good luck with your scan today! I can't wait to hear what they weigh! Are you 32 weeks?

I didn't think to use roll on! I just dab when I dont think anyone is looking!!!
Xx

I have chest pain every time I cough which has been for about 4-5 months now. They aren’t really interested as it’s nothing cardiac. If I sneeze, I feel and hear my sternum click which is gross. Literally one hand goes on the bump and one on the clicking part. Whenever I’ve been to a patient with a PE they have been really really unwell and it’s a suspicion rather than knowing. I remember saying that the ecg rarely shows changes then looked and it was textbook with all of them, that said, I think the sepsis was the issue that time rather than a PE.

Did they growth scab yesterday anyway? How much do they expect things to change in two days?

And yes, two heavy babies is bloody hard work. I get out of breath and have to sit down after barely moving, it’s emabaressing.

Scan this afternoon. Last time the hca asked how many weeks I was when she weighed me, I soon responded I am carrying 2 and almost told her to piss off! My bump is bigger now, and I’m swollen so god knows what the scales will say. After having 3-4 months of barely eating, I don’t really care.

Let us know how you get on x

They are just being super cautious and I have been tachy at every checkup so it's not a new symptom.
Still waiting for results!
I didn't have a growth scan yesterday, just a ctg and tests for me. Growth scan is tomorrow afternoon.
Spending all week at hospital!

I'm definitely regretting not bringing lunch and snacks!!!! Xx

I’m sat here now and it’s already 30 min late so god knows how long I will be here. May leg it down to league of friends and grab a sandwich. I just wasn’t hungry when I left home.

Also hoping to pop and see my friend who’s on the floor above. She had her little boy yesterday

Are you ladies weighed at appointments? I haven’t been weighed since booking in!

I've been weighed at every appt. I call them the scales of shame!
I have put on a whopping 3 and a half stone on top of my pre pregnancy weight:dance: I wish they woupd stop weighing me!
Any update from your anaesthetist?

Oh my! I’ve dodged the scales!!

I actually rang my specialist hospital in Newcastle. The doctor there is confident my issues are localised to my legs and so advises a natural birth and would say do a spinal over a general, though did say recovery will be longer as will the time it takes to work. So it actually is down to whether the baby doctor is happy to try natural or prefers to do a c section because of the risk.

Finally you got to speak so someone and get an idea at least, so that’s good. I get weighed at every consultant clinic. You go to the loo, the hca weighs you and then does a urine dip. It was odd seeing a little booth the first time I went in there!

Not sure what I weighed exactly pre pregnancy but I’ve put on 2kg this month and a total of 13kg since my booking in at 12 weeks.

Took ages waiting for the scan, then a reasonable wait after but at least I got to see my consultant this time. Not that I will probably see him again but it was good to speak to him.

Babies are growing well, both in 90th centile, blood flow good. And they are huge! T1 is 5lb! And T2 is 4lb13!
So basically, I’m carrying a large full term baby in weight around already and still have 5-6 weeks to go. Madness

He said my two previous bloods didn’t make sense for Hb so repeated that today and also is sending my urine off again as protein was +2. It’s been hovering around +1 & 2 for 5-6 weeks now but as my blood pressure has been fine the mw and gp aren’t bothered. He said the high Hb is a sign of preclampsia and that with twins you don’t necessarily get hypertension with it, hence checking the Hb blood and protein in urine again to get it quantified. He said he’s not overly worried but if there is a problem they will contact me in the next couple of days. It may just mean a bit more monitoring, if my bp did go up and the others are also high I’d need admitting but that seems way off and unlikely to me.

I asked what happens if I get to 37 and no babies. He said they will offer to induce me but I don’t have to and they can let me go further with a bit more monitoring. I also asked about being induced ending up needing intervention but he said with twins it’s more likely 50/50 that I’d need an intervention of some kind anyway. As babies are still head down can go for vaginal if I want.

So I guess just stay as I am, keep resting (pelvis is bloody killing after being sat waiting all day I can hardly walk now). And see what happens at 36 week scan and app. If they keep growing like this I’ll be desperate to get them out!

That's good, so at least you have some options hopefully and a bit of a say in it.
What do you want?

Wow go mumma! You are amazing at growing babies! No wonder you're in pain!! Are you 32 weeks on the nose?
Plus 2 placentas weigh about 5lbs together! So you are carrying way more than a big term singleton baby.
I think you have deserved to put your feet up and take it very easy.
Also amazing weights, if they come early they have that in their favour! X

I’m 32+1. Their growth is more like 34. I found a twin growth chart and it shows they are at the top for 32 weeks.
Do the combined placentas weigh that much? I hadn’t really thought about it. I’ve only seen one at a full term birth and it was pretty hefty to be fair! (And looked like a liver covered in haggis skin, lol).
I think I’m glad I kept the receipts for the baby grows I bought that are up to 6lb, I don’t think they are going to go anywhere near them - unless they make an appearance in the next week or two (hopefully not)

Hope the scan goes well tomorrow, can’t wait to hear what size they are! you don’t really get a good look at 32 weeks, it’s just all baby squashed up so you can’t see as nicely as at 20 or even 28. Did double check and could see better today that both are girls. T1 has been a bit tricky as never complies when I have a scan.

She also said t 2 has a bigger swimming pool than her sister but both ok.

I'm just waiting for my growth scan. Been 2 weeks since my last so interested to see how much they have grown.

I didn't know you could get pre eclampsia without elevated bp. That's really interesting.
It' my third day in a row at the hospital and probably spent my first months mat pay on parking :rotfl:

How did it go?
Parking here costs loads and it’s always the max when you have mat appointments as they run so bloody late.

Twin 1 is weighing in at 4lb 15oz, and twin 2 - 4 lb 14oz! I'm 33+2 so pretty decent 'above average' weights.
2 and a half weeks for my final growth scan! All getting very very real now.

How is everyone? Struggling with this heat!!
x

Well done to you ladies!! I am only carrying around 4lbs of baby and starting to struggle!

We are all doing really well! Pregnancy is hard work, especially the 3rd tri.
And hat's off to everyone still at work!

I haven't been weighed since booking in either

I wish I could avoid the scales of shame! It's one number we do Not need to know. X
