****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

I've had a strange day today, hubby has worked so much all week I've had a lot of alone time hiding from mum and then today is the first day we will get to actually spend some time together this evening. So of course we had a massive argument in the car when I was leaving him to work this morning...cuz naturally on the one day we actually could spend nice time together we should definitely start off with a fight haha

I then have spent the rest of my day waiting for people to get out of bed- who still aren't- whilst sewing a white vest for hubby and avoiding all eye contact with my uni books haha hope everyone else is having a nice day xx

Good morning!

This spritz-for-bits is everywhere now haha! I will definitely be buying the one after birth but won't bother with the one for perineal massage as I know I just won't do it.

The weekend was busy but good. Took DD to an animal farm on Saturday and Sunday we spent at the beach where DD found new entertainment in the form of chasing after daddy with fists full of mud. It was fun to watch :D

Midwife today at 3pm, hope urine and bloods are all fine. I had a strange night last night. DD woke me up at 1am and I couldn't get back to sleep. Eventually, while drifting off I started to hear this super loud, alarm-like noise in my ears and I felt like I was about to pass out, I couldn't keep my eyes open!! Now I am not sure if I fell asleep or in fact did pass put! But I can still remember the panic from hearing that noise in my ears. I remember thinking about my blood pressure at that moment. Weird. Maybe it was a dream?

I hope you all have a lovely day today x

That certainly sounds like a lovely weekend haha It's always fun watching other people being terrorised isn't it? It's so good to finally be getting nicer weather and being able to be out and about more.

Good luck with your appointment today and definitely mention that to the MW and see what she thinks. Sounds scary xx

Thanks Laura, I will defo mention it. I don't actually feel so great today either, a bit weak. Oh well the joys of pregnancy!

Sun is out today as well. I have been dying to see nice weather again and we seem to be getting more of it now! So exciting! x

It's crazy how much things can change from a day to day basis. I went from feeling like death warmed up to feeling the most human I have since I got pregnant for the past few days haha despite nearly passing out in a wallpaper shop but it was fine haha I hope it passes and you can enjoy your day , is that your 28 week appointment today?

We finally picked the wallpaper and design for our wee alcove in our room where the cot is going to be. We wanted it to look like it's her wee space in our room! Hubby is going to paper it and we have a beautiful wall sticker with an elephant on it which we are both in love with! Our cot should also be arriving in a few weeks which is scary as heck haha they threw in building it for free so it's going to be built and ready quite early but we didn't want to risk messing up building it ourselves. xx

Glad you are feeling better, I think you of all did your fair share of feeling shitty! Hopefully Tri 3 brings only good days!

I am sure the baby cave will look amazing (waiting to see pics once done!). Good call on the cot building! These things can be a nightmare to put together! Eeeek, exciting! x

I'm hoping what they say about a difficult pregnancy leading to an easy labour is true haha I feel like I have done little else but moan and complain and be ill since December. According to hubby I have done more, productivity wise, in the last week than the last 5 months so...that's an improvement...or a criticism haha my hormones make me wanna get all huffy and offended but I know he doesn't mean it that way so I am containing myself.

I will definitely post pics once done, we all should! Would be exciting to see everyones baby space. We aren't going to be able to have a full nursery but we are just making the most of our wee corner and making it look babyish hehe

When they said in the shop about building it for us I could have hugged the man. The best thing is we bought our cot from a family run business and my mum actually got all her baby stuff for me and my brother out of there! The nice man, David, who will be building my baby's cot actually built MY cot which I find really cute xx

Aww that is pretty sweet that you and your baby got cots from the same place! I look forward to seeing the pics.

I will most likely not post any as we have no plans for baby corner. DD2 is getting a bedside crib with mobile upstairs in our bedroom and a travel cot for naps downstairs in the living room. I don't think I will be sticking stickers on the wall above it but I may, especially that you can actually peel them off no problem. I think once DD1 and 2 are ready to sleep alone we will re-decorate their room. But until then we will be keeping all the same with additional bits for DD2 play area etc.

I am kind of looking forward to DD1 getting to re-discover all of her old toys :D

aww I never even thought of that, your dd1 is going to be so excited to see all her toys and bring back memories hehe

We almost weren't going to do anything for the cot corner. Our room has just been painted white and since we are only living here temporarily we were thinking not to do anything to save money and just focus on moving. But the paper we picked isn't crazy expensive and we only need 1 roll for the small space. Also we will only ever have our first baby once so it would be a shame not to make any effort for her haha I want her to have pictures to look back on of her babyhood and know we didnt just dump her in the corner as an afterthought haha xx

haha Laura, totally agree. I am sure she will love to look back at the pic and see what mummy and daddy did in preparation for her arrival x

Hi Ladies, hope you are all doing well.

Can see you are starting to prepare the rooms for the baby. We will not do anything for the first 6 months when the baby is in our room since I have a co-sleeper. We are planning to put baby with my DD once ready to move away from our room.. I hope that will work out. We have a spare room but I would like to keep it as a guest room! DD is only 20 months so perhaps when she gets a bit older we can separate them but think/hope it should be fine to start with :)

I plan to spend a day at mamas & papas end of April/beginning of May to get all the stuff I need for the room - another wardrobe, toddler bed for DD ( she is still in cot ) etc ).

Its quite nice that I have another DD since they new baby can use her old clothes, bouncer, baby play mat etc. The only thing I have to decide on is if/when to boy a double pram.. I refuse to pay a fortune for it but assume I will need one since DD will be 2 when baby arrives. Anyone in the same situation?

xx

Laura, that is so lovely that your baby gets a cot built by the same man. What a lovely link to have. Glad you're feeling better too.

KH, I've not been great at keeping up...how was your mw appointmemt?

Aww Laura that's such a sweet story! Hope you're still feeling much better.

MariaIsabella, we are also going to have baby in our room in a next-to-me cot for the first six months and after that she'll be going into a larger cot in her own room.

This is my first so I can't give you any advice on your other questions. But I imagine it will be nice for both your children to share a room for a while. If it doesn't work out you can always convert the guest room!

So painting of our new house has started here. My dad's visiting for a week to help out. I secretly think he's delighted he's painting his granddaughter's room although he won't say so out loud haha.

Eek, just seen my ticker and realised I'm into double figures now!

Malaguetta, Mariaisabella, I'm doing the next to me by the bed for 4-6 months as well. MIL is still trying to work out a way she can stay in the nursery with the baby...good luck with that! She doesn't know we'll be moving to the big house yet. Will be impossible not to let them stay with us then but it won't be for the entire first two weeks. As I'll be c section, my plan is, they come meet the baby while I'm in hospital, go home so that Dan and I can take our baby home alone and have at least a few days to settle and have our new family time. Then have them down for a long weekend to spend some time with baby without staying too long.

GG that sounds like a sensible plan. I will have family visiting in the hospital too and then some quiet time at home with just the 4 of us.
Thanks, appointment went well. No sign of infection, BP normal, will have to wait for bloods now. She thought I was overtired and needed to rest a bit more (with a full time job and looking after a 2.5 year old... not happening lol)

MI, do you walk a lot? If you do, then a double buggy will be handy. If you only walk some maybe think of getting a buggy board? I may get one for DD who will be 2y9m when baby is born x

MariaIsabella I think PB got an expensive double buggy 2nd hand and she said it's great if I remember rightly. So maybe try pre-owned? Xx

GG Ditch the new house then. Damn five bedrooms haha! Unless you chuck every piece of junk that you have into them and pile them high so you can go "sorry those rooms are a state there's nowhere for you to stay" lol xx

I'm going to make my mind up on Friday what I'm doing for birth. And if im in hospital then my in laws can bring up DD to see baby once I'm ready unless we're being discharged quickly. In which case they can just bring her home when I get back, see baby and be on their way fx! Really want some time just the 4 of us to bond, and so DD can get used to her sister too. Plus I know I'm not going to want a tonne of company when I'm bleeding, probably stitched up again and having my boobs out every 2 seconds trying to latch

Yup i got a city jogger select. Its great, folds down flat so great for car to. Can add extras to it aswell. Second hand can get it for like 160. I paid 300 but got loads of stuff included and a car seat.

Thanks ladies.

PB, will have a look at that one. Did a little research and found Graco Stadium Duo Double Pushchair on Amazon for 170 pounds which seems fair. I don't want to spend much since its going to be for a short time before I can use a buggy board.

Tomorrow is MRI day! Spoke to fetal medicine and they said I will only need a follow up appointment if something to discuss ( i.e. something is wrong ). Midwife said not to panic if I am asked to come in but know it will be hard not to xx
