*****December Babies*****

I can't remember why but I do remember reading somewhere that on the left is the best place to go into labour from x

Baby on the left is the more natural birthing position apparently and easier for us mums. On the right isnt an issue like back to back or transverse etc but left is better. I also sleep on my left but LO is still angling across my tummy or on the far right. Mw here keep telling me contractions should help put LO in the best position if they don't move themselves first.

Aimee glad to hear your LO is doing so well, lovely news. Strange about the hv maybe ask the neighbours/drop it into conversation? Maybe she knows them and was dropping off an Xmas card? xx

Morning ladies

Just wanted to let you know that I had my gorgeous little girl yesterday, on her due date no less! Jules was born at 18.51 weighing 8lb 3 after just over 6 hours of established labour! Did it all on gas and air and got in the pool just after 5! Had second degree tear which required stitching and needless to say got bugger all sleep when we eventually got to the ward last night! Anyway, that doesn't matter as she's just the mist gorgeous little girl I've ever seen, but then I am bias I guess! Hang in there ladies xxxx

When can I stop shaving??? I thought hair growth was meant slow down near the end?!
It's ruiningy relaxing baths having to bend into crazy positions!!!
Rant over :)
Xxxx

Lol mine did slow down now it's back again! Weird!!!

Really hoping this baby comes by tomorrow!!! Going for a curry tonight - what's next up from a tikka masala?

I think mine did the same actually!

Newbie I have everything crossed for you, I can imagine your getting so fed up :(
Unfortunately I don't like curry so I cannot advise an I cannot use that tactic either!
I've been eating nandos instead hopin it will have an effect!
Xxxxxxx

I'm having another sweep tonight so we will see how that goes. I don't like curry either other than tikka masala but going to be brave tonight! X

Go for a madras then, its hot but not as hot as jalfrazi. Good luck I hope the sweep works. wish I could have one :( xx

Look luck with the sweep newbie. I know how you feel Soph. I feel really quite fed up now. Maybe I'm just tired. Feel like house needs a good deep clean but can't be bothered and OH is poorly so has been playing computer games all day. Our time will come soon I'm sure! Xx

I tried a chicken tikka jalfrezi and it was nice but quite a lot hotter than a chicken tikka massala (not so creamy). Hope your sweep and the curry do the trick and baby makes a swift arrival so that you are home for Christmas.

If I don't go tonight or tomorrow I think is like my little man to stay put until Boxing Day at least (but then he's not allowed to come 28-31st either!) Anyone actually hoping for a Xmas baby?

I think that would be nice soph as I always feel on a downer once Xmas is over so be lovely to have baby's birthday just afterwards (just this wedding that I'm going to which worries me lol!) x

ive been waiting for her to ome home to ask her x i think im being paranoid xxxx

Huge hugs newbie, you know I've been there. Being over due and induced was so far from my plan and it was hard and fast when it happened but it really is worth it and my hospital experience was very positive despite my fears.
Hope everyone is ok, sending all my best wishes to the other new babies and those keeping us waiting!
Sorry I've been AWOL, but Ollie has taken all my attention or I've been sleeping!! I am completely in love with my tiny baby. Just to join in the current line of chat, Ollie was on the right the whole time but even with induction he moved into the perfect anterior position for delivery, despite my paranoia (I'd spent so much time sleeping exclusively on my left and loads of other things to get him to shift but he was having none of it). We've got breast feeding established but now need to try and get him to go down in his cot between feeds, rather thsn sleeping on us, a challenge!! I'm doing well but my episiotomy is pretty sore, sitting down is a challenge! But mw said although I'm badly bruised and very swollen it is healing. Xxx

It took a couple of nights where neither myself or OH slept a wink cos Millie wouldn't go down in her Moses basket. I found it so hard that she would cry every time! My mum came over after the second night without sleep, and I don't really sleep in the day either, and she helped settle her into her basket. Thank god I say! As nice as it was to have cuddles and her to fall asleep on is, all I could think was how on earth would I manage to do anything once oh was back at work and I can't put this baby down! I mean how are you meant to pee??!! She is much better now at going down, worth the perseverance!

Emma my episiotomy is sore too. It was really neat afterwards and I was keeping it clean, bathing several times a day, oh helping clean it with salty water too.. But I was in so much pain that day I came to visit you in hospital! The physio told me there was a haematoma underneath the wound which made it extremely difficult to sit, stand, walk! It would make me cry to sit down on it! I've had 2 sessions now using ultrasound pulses to break down the haematoma and its feeling loads better already! Plus I sit on a doughnut cushion too!!

Just updated Doob's labour thread. Hopefully baby will be here within a few hours.
