*****August 2014 Mummies*****

Hey hun, I was sick a couple of times when away, so nothing major but I did have a major embarrassing moment- I made the mistake of going into the pool with kids and just felt so sick I couldn't control it and was sick in the pool which had to be evacuated and shut for the rest of the evening, embarrassment is not the word!

How are you? X

Haha sorry but that made me laugh! What hg does to you!! I'm ok thanks had a good 10 days and now the nausea has returned :( hope it's not here to stay and it's. Blip but just come to terms with it not stopping to little one is here! Xx

I suppose it's funny when you are not in the moment, with little kids being told to leave the pool and have a shower immediately lol
10 days is a good stretch, don't think I ever got that much time in between the 'dark days' as I call them. Yes, think it's here to stay and just live with it til bubs comes :/ xxx

Oh mummy_midwife- how awful! Poor u!....... So sorry u girls r still suffering :-(

U have to laugh otherwise ud cry Hun! The only thing that gets me through it is when I've had a bad one and projectiled over the bedroom and hubby is on his knees scrubbing the floor we just laugh only way to deal with it xx

Def, sometimes I cry but other times I do laugh - usually in retrospect though :)
Thanks mum2b, it's become part of my life so unfortunately I have accepted it!
X

So- I'm awake :-/ Got up for the loo and couldn't get back to sleep! Feel so phlegmy its horrible :-/ Tummy then started to rumble so had to get up for milk and a babybel! Lol!..... Come back to bed now and the birds have started singing! ......I hate nights like this :-( Hope u r all sleeping soundly xxx

I was sleeping fine till I heard a noise downstairs and my dog running about. Kitchen window was left ajar and a neighbours cat came in fighting with my cats so the dog chased it off. was bout 3am, but got back to sleep reasonably quick and up now at back of 6.
28 weeks today!! Got midwife at 10:30, but hospital already did my 28 week bloods so maybe should have cancelled this app, but thought I would keep it seeing as its only the 2nd time this midwife team have seen me due to moving house. 6 weeks till growth scan and 12 weeks till due date eeeeek. I resisting the urge to start unpacking the moses basket and double buggy lol although all the new baby clothes are washed, ironed and hung up and hospital bag is already packed lol Cant wait to get the nursery room repainted and new carpet at end of month :) x

That would have scared the life out of me! Glad your dog chased them off!!...... 29 weeks today for me- I'm resisting the urge to pack my hospital bag but I have almost got moses basket ready and we have bought a double buggy which Ethan is already using at times (in the middle of selling our single)!!....Luckily don't need to decorate our nursery- it was yellow and blue anyway! Ethan has moved to the bigger room in a single bed and the cotbed is now a cot again! V weird to see!!

Hope your midwife appt goes well today hun- I'm at the hospital for anaesthetic review at 4.30!

Finally got back to sleep around 5- gonna feel the lack of sleep later on! Start my iron tablets today though so hopefully I will have a bit more energy soon!

Hope all u have a good day xxx

Morning all, early start for me as on my way to Birmingham for second time this week (roll on mat leave) but sat in the sun at 6am waiting for train made up for it.

Mummymw- oh my goodness to your pool / sick in incident you poor thing. Hope you get some respite soon.

You're all too organised with baby stuff. Nursery is now clutter free but don't know if we're going to decorate it as it's already cream, think might get some stickers and then do it in theme he likes (eg pirates or spacemen) when he's 2ish.

Got £500 off my mum and dad to spend on bubs yesterday, so generous. They said "don't tell your sister as we can't remember, what we gave her, we think we bought the pram" (none of us could remember as her youngest is 7!) off to babyshow at nec in Birmingham Sunday so have cash to spend!!

Hope appointments go well today and also your iron tabs start working mum2be

Morning girls :)
I slept in today, 1st time in years, got the kids up, dressed, lunch boxes etc all ready in 8 minutes to get to school, gave them 2 cereal bars each to eat on the way ... What a horrible feeling of panic but they got there before bell went phew, despite having pjs and no bra on underneath my jacket we made it!

Mum2b, I hope you can go through the day without feeling the effects of waking up so early, I too have had to get up early morning for a trip to the kitchen :) you bet I was sleeping soundly, so soundly I slept through my alarm lol

You girls sound very organised with all the baby stuff. I am aiming to start washing and ironing soon, but not just yet. It must feel nice to have nursery, cots etc all done , think makes it more real when a cot is up and waiting :) I wasn't going to get any baby stuff til later but actually got pretty much everything is just a case of putting them all together now.

Kaffee I wish I had £500 to spend as a gift , lovely to get stuff at the baby show cause you can see things in action before you buy it.

Hope you all have a nice day, I have booked a workshop on baby wearing with the fabric slings kinda of thing for this afternoon, think it will be interesting to learn how the different fabric work as it will be handy to have baby attached to me whilst I run around the other 2 kids and the house... If I don't like them I have bought a baby bjorn carrier anyway so can just use that :)

Hello all,

Had my 28 week check up yesterday and all going well. I was worried the baby would be massive but she's measuring dead on the 50th percentile. Also had my Anti D and Whooping cough Jabs and got my Mat B1 form- so excited to give the Mat B1 form to work- 6 weeks left to work....cannot wait!!!

Thanks Kaffee!
£500 gift- lovely! Enjoy spending that :-)...... We have done wall stickers for decoration- so easy to do and change as needed!

Mummy_midwife- glad its not just me with the nighttime kitchen trips! I really try to hold off but sometimes the rumbling is too distracting and stops me going back off!
Record timing for getting up and school run!! Hope Aaron feeling better?
I'm going to borrow my friends ByKay fabric sling! Was v comfy when I tried it on- she got it at the baby show- was about £50! So not v cheap! We have a baby Bjorn from Ethan but not sure you're meant to keep them in that for long periods due to strain on spine and hips?? But ok for an hour or so? Don't know- something I heard about since using it with Ethan! B interesting to hear what your course is like!

Harspray- happy 28 weeks! Great your appt went well!.... Hope u feel OK after whooping cough jab? Xx

Mum2be and mummy midwife I am going to use wrap this time around as well and going for lenny lamb woven bamboo wrap. I thought the same it will be easier to run around after my ds and have baby save with my. We are using also cloth nappies part time with my ds mostly Charlie banana some cheapies from eBay btp, tot b and ittis.

Thanks Mum2be, I have a sore arm but apart from that no side effects from whooping cough, thank goodness.

Loved the sling workshop, the lady is a sling consultant and knows so much. I tried them
all on and decided to go for a stretchy wrap as they are apparently ideal for newborns and for beginners like me as you can put them before putting baby in and you can adjust easily. Once I try it and feel confident and am sure baby wearing is something for me then I will move up to a woven one, gorgeous patterns and fabrics :) re the slings in the high street I have heard so many bad things about them re posture and problems with baby spine and hips but I
Still haven't read any solid evidence on it to really convince me they are as bad as some say... The woman has given me a journal article explaining why wraps are better, will have a read later. Having said that the wraps keeps the baby in such a natural position- like a little frog, that I would imagine is more comfortable for them than a baby bjorn. And more comfortable for my back too :) the stretchy wraps are £50 which is cheaper than the baby bjorn I bought for just under £100.

Mum2b Aaron coughed and coughed all night I was up with him lots but finally collapsed at 3 am and then slept in... I had 1 minute to make the decision to send him to school or not but he seemed quite upbeat in the morning and keen to go so away he went, hopefully he is better. And the night time feasts do happen here lol as you say it distracts you and you can't sleep til you have eaten.
I hope you are feeling ok?

Magdalena I hear ebay cheapies do a good job but haven't tried them before, I mainly used tots bots with my other 2 but defo trying pretty much all brands this time. Heard wonders about CB so got one in xs to try with baby and see how I get on with it :)

Nice to hear everyone's 28 weeks appts are going well, I will have mine at home this Saturday when they will book my home birth, baby is breech at the moment , love feeling her in my tummy.

Check up went fine, bump is measuring bang on 28 weeks, tried to have a listen to heart but he was wriggling about too much. Confirmed he is still head down and so so so low. Took some LFT's as my palms have gone bright red, but not itchy. All recent tests and swabs clear. I noticed in my notes once I got home that she had written 'discussed whooping cough jab'????? eh, no you didnt. Is there a certain point you are meant to get it done? Or can I just mention it next time?
xx

Great re sling workshop! Sounds like it was def worth it! The ByKay one my friend is lending me is a stretchy wrap too!..... I'm feeling ok hun, tired and fed up of cough :-/ Off to hospital shortly......

Hopefully Aaron will be ok hun- good sign that he wanted to go to school xx
