*****August 2014 Mummies*****

Just done my 29 week bump pic........I def think I carry my babies all out front!! X

Hope hospital goes ok mum2b ! The stretchy wraps look and feel great , will have a look at your pic !
Wenchytoots just phone your GP surgery and make an appt for the jab maybe? I think mum2b is right about timings, I haven't been in community for a bit and also not having the jab myself but it sounds right :)

Sorry to tri hop, I love slings and can't wait to get a new one. I have a manduca which is a buckle carrier and so easy to use, just not for newborns. I'm looking at the caboo close carrier, which is a stretchy wrap, but so much easier. Worth a google. Also on fb there are 3 sling groups and there are also stretchier being sold for £20-30 inc postage, so also worth a nosey :) just type sling in the search bar and they should come up xx

Hey kanga *waves* tri hop any time hun.
I got a demonstration of all the slings and had a chance to try them on, I did see the Manduca one, can you not buy an insert to use it from newborn? Or am I getting confused with another one?

I tried the different stretchy wraps on and settled for the moby, as it felt just right and very easy to use, so going to get that one :) I am on facebook sling groups etc but because I had to pay to attend the workshop today, the money I paid can go towards buying a sling so it will be an extra £30 for that which is the same ish as buying them pre-loved?

I got a lovely pack full of info and tips, lovely going through it all.

Mum2b hope the appointment went ok hun
X

That's good you get the money to go towards a new sling. The moby wrap is lovely too, I am torn between the two, the caboo just looks easier. Did you try one of those out? Maybe I need to go to my local sling meet to try them both out before I decide which one to buy. They say you can use the manduca from 7lbs 7oz and Harry was only 7lbs 1oz so I could have a baby too small. Plus I just don't like the look of them in it, think a stretchy looks so much comfier for a newborn. It doesn't have a separate insert, just a fold out seat inside. xx

Appointment was a waste of time mummy_midwife! Lol!..... Saw a consultant anaesthetist who was lovely and we just had a chat and he just wrote in my notes I can have an epidural again if needed! He basically apologised for not really needing to see me!..... I had told several drs that my back issue was old and no problems last pregnancy- but hey- what do I know?! ;-)

I did try it out, it is easier to put it on but the separate bits to it and the rings at the side put me off a bit (if I am thinking of the right one that is) for me just a straightforward pice of fabric felt right, but maybe is an idea to try them before you buy like you say? Think sling meets must be really nice. That's why I decided to go and see how they work for myself first :) the separate little folding seat is what I meant, don't know the lingo sorry lol I agree with you, the stretchy ones look really comfy for newborns. Wow I thought I was an 'experienced' parent but with so much to learn is like being a 1st time mum again, loving it :) x

Evening ladies,
Glad everyone's 28wk appointments are going well.

Today was my last day at college, I have completed the course 6 weeks earlier than official end date, as completed all assessments. Just bit 3 exams on the 5th June but that's when everyone's are. But I dnt have to go back. So now I have 12 weeks to potter about the house being a lazy bugger ha ha. - not really I've got a wedding next week I've got to do 3 lots of hair including the brides and her make up eeek.

Next week we are finally getting the nursery started which I'm looking forward to, and can then claim income support as we are 29weeks - best thing with OH having been referred to a specialist at Birmingham hospital, means he can stop stressing about the jobcentre as after 22 years as a trained chef he may not be able to continue in this field *sighs*.

The only thing we really need to buy now for bump is a cot mattress, the cot is mine from when I was a baby, but the mattress is the one my sis had for my niece 15yrs ago and although it doesn't look like there's anything up with it I'm just not sure it's safe to use :-/.

Aw no, usually they at least have a feel of your back lol what a shame to have got out the house just to be told what you already knew, that you could have an epidural :-/ crazy!

My phone charger isn't charging my phone- disaster as I only have 10% battery left, will need to buy another tomorrow morning... Don't know what to do without my phone :(

Will speak to you all tomorrow xxxx

Yeah it's the one with the rings on the side, I've never tried one on so probably best to try one out first. I know how the moby works as I had a victoris sling lady (basically the same) one with Harry, but gave it away. Some buckle carriers have completely separate newborn inserts you have to buy separately like the ergo, which I why I got confused lol There is still so much to learn even though my Harry isn't even 2, it's scary how much has changed since then. xx

Thank you :).
Yh oh deffo getting practice in. I always think Luna look Tiny when he's got her ha ha, she's 18wks. Can't believe she's that old then I think shit I was only 10wks when she was born lol.

Time goes quick doesn't it?! Wait til LO is here- I swear having Ethan has put my life in fast forward! Xx

V quiet on here yesterday! Hope u were all enjoying a sunny day?!

We were at the zoo with Ethan then went to a friends in the evening- absolutely knackered! But had a lovely day :-)
Got my cousin staying with us this weekend and we r going on a girly shopping spree today (wish I had more money to spend!), but I'm sure I'll b knackered again later!...... Anyone know how long iron tablets take to kick in??

Enjoy your weekend ladies xxxx

No sun for me, was Tesco's weekly shop and sniffly grumpy 1YO all day then OH decided to really p1ss me off in the evening grrrrrrrr. Annoying pains and increased leaking all day, along with crunching/grinding in my pelvis and hips, hoping its not the start of PGP, but think its cause baby is so low.
Better start to today, 1YO is happier after some medicine and down for morning nap after getting up at 5:45am. School/work clothes all washed and dried and a quick re hoover and mop done and got a friends house warming/football/bbq to look forward to around 1pm and its my turn for a long lie tomoz :D:D:D
I think they kick in pretty quick, but not entirely sure. Hope its soon for you and your not so tired soon xx

Hey girls, sounds like you both have a very busy but nice day ahead :) hope you are feeling better mum2b.
I am not long up... It's great my kids can now get up and stay away from our bedroom until about 8:30 but then they get restless and come wake us up. Kids will be at a charity sports event that my neighbour is organising this afternoon, she will take them there so I can get on with midwife coming to the house. I am going to get my energy together in a few minutes so can give the house a good clean this morning.

Mum2b, the iron should start working soon, I have started taking iron yesterday as I feel pretty exhausted all the time. Hopefully they will kick in soon.
Hope you both have a lovely fun day xxx

Morning everyone :) 29 weeks today and 9 weeks until I am induced! I finished work yesterday, I have 3 weeks holiday then 6 weeks maternity leave before the induction. I didn't realise but I must have been quite stressed about work and had soooo much to get finished this week that as soon as I got home last night I had an awful headache all night till this morning. Feeling a bit better now and off to see the in laws at the coast for the weekend. Glad everyone is doing ok, take care all :) x
