Mummy_midwife- these r the nappies- left to right Kushies, Totsbots and Nappy Nation. The middle one has the plastic outer pant things above it to go over the top I guess?? So do I just fold all the terry towelling bits inside and add a liner? (Got given a roll of liners as well). Any help appreciated! Thanks xxx

I had written a long reply but lost it :(
Lovely nappies, I used tots bots a lot but never used the other 2 but have seen other mummies using them :)

The tots bots you have there I think is the original version where booster and fleece liners are attached to the nappy so you don't need to add anything to it, just pop the outer wrap on and away you go :) if you prefer the flush able liners ( i do) you can pop that on so that touches baby's skin.

The others I believe are all in one where you pop the liner in and that's that !

Once nappy is dirty , flush liner down and pop nappy in a bucket with lid or a waterproof bag til you are ready to wash them. It is really easy.

I don't know what size you have there, if size 1 it should be ok with newborn although I wouldn't add any boosters ( shaped or terry toweling) as it would look really bulky on a new baby. If size 2, then it will fit baby at around 9 months. I like to buy sized nappies, so I have newborn, size 1 and 2. Will attach a pic of newborn nappies next to size 1 so you can see the difference!

Cloth is so gentle on baby skin and saves you so much money I cannot recommend them enough xxxxx

Size 1 is top in the middle and the rest are different brands of newborn sized ones x

Thanks hun that's great! I have a whole bag full of them in different sizes- she reckoned would last up to 6months? So I think I have newborn and at least size 1 and 2, maybe even 3!...... What should I soak them in a nappy bucket? What would u recommend for washing? (Hope no one minds me hijacking the thread with this- sorry!) Xx

hey girls hope you dont mind me gatecrashing tri 3 but was reading your posts on reusable nappies. I am really considering them but how exactly do they work? Do you have a ninig that you wash or does all the nappy just go in the wash as soon as its dirty? xx

Evening ladies, I'm impressed reusable nappies, must investigate.

Had tooth sorted this morning, so nice to have it all free with maternity card. Will need to go back in November to check the filling is still ok, she asked what time I wanted and I was stumped, so guessed at 11. Will hopefully be nap time for bubs so I can get seen in peace!

Kaffee- I was at dentist today too! Got to back in Feb 2015! I've gone for 11.15! Lol!.....LO will b 6 months old by then- crazy!!

Keeptrying- I think it depends on the type of reusable u get! All the ones I have have a lot of terry towelling type fabric to fold inside but I've also been given a roll of disposable liners- from what mummy_midwife has said I'm guessing that regardless if the nappy I can just pop one of these in too to get the 'worst if it' and just flush down the loo......leaving the actual fabric of the nappy less stained and easier to wash? I'm sure she'll b back on at some point and can fill us in :-)

Sorry girls, I have a sick child :(
Mum2b and Keeptrying , these days they recommend dry Pailing nappies, so I have a bucket with a mesh bag inside that after flushing down the liner I put the nappies in, no need to put any water or anything, just close the lid and when it's washing time ( I do them every 2 days) you get the mesh bag out and into machine.
I then rinse, put half amount of powder so no soap build up on nappies also no softener , wash at 60 and hang them to dry or tumble dry on low.
You do flush the disposable liners so the worst of poo etc goes down the toilet - I have reusable liners too which I did use for the newborn stage, but I like the disposables, as you say mum2b :)

When out and about I put used nappies on a wetbag and as I get home I either transfer them to the bucket or put straight in the washing machine after loosening the drawstrings and nappies come out the bag in the wash.

I will take some pics if helps, I just don't know how to upload more than 1 pic per post :/ x

ETA rinse meaning a rinse cycle in washing machine x

Who's poorly hun- Aaron or Emily? :-(
Makes sense to me! I think I'm just gonna have to give it a go when he is here and c how things go! Xx

The liners, the reusable colourful one and the disposable one next to it, just pop that on inside the nappy, put on baby and do the Velcro tabs over like a disposable and that's it done- for an 'all in one" nappy. If a 2 parter nappy you put nappy on and then the waterproof cover and there you are.

There are many 'types' of nappies, ones with Velcro, with poppers or ones you fasten with nappy nippas( replacing traditional pins) and I think this minefield makes people think they are complicated, but they truly aren't. It is really straight forward and I often get the ' oh wow you're brave and must be hard work', but doing and extra washing every 2nd day really isn't a lot IMO :)

Sorry bout hijacking the thread too :/ x

Aaron is, having coughing fits just sounds awful and he can't sleep :( absolutely, wait til bubs is here and see how you get on, it does save you lots of money though which is always good :) xxx

The pail and wet bag, that's all the gear you need x

I still haven't been to dentist since being pregnant *shameful* but it is nice to know it's there and it's free :) will need to get a check up done soon , thanks posting it has reminded me x

Thanks hun!...... The inside of the ones I've got are different in that they have 'flaps' of terry towelling that all kind of fold in I presume- your sort look better! Lol!...... Will def give things a try and c! Thank u so much for your help.

Poor Aaron :-( Hope its nothing he doesn't shake off quickly!.... I have developed a cough since my whooping cough jab- prob just coincidence but it did make me feel pretty rough and my arm was really sore until today (after initially being fine!) Xxx

I have those too hun with all the folding boosters etc, the booster of the one in the pic is in the pocket that sits underneath it, each brand will have 'their' own style of boosting - you are welcome :) anytime just ask, not for everyone but worth a shot for sure.

I know, my poor boy, feel so helpless :( oh no about you coughing too, maybe just coincidence with the jab? I wonder if anyone else has had the same after having it? Hopefully you'll shake it off soon too, not funny when you are trying to sleep :hugs:
