*****August 2014 Mummies*****

Mummy_midwife- when u see this and if u have time can u explain why some ladies r having their bmi's calculated in the third trimester? I don't understand how it can b accurate when pregnant? Surely they can just talk about weight gain if they are concerned- not bmi! Thanks hun xx

Hiya girlies, I'm officially moving over here today. 13 weeks to go and I'm sure they will fly by

Welcome over hun :-)

Thanks xx I've been moving house today, the removal men have just left and now I've got a mammoth job of emptying boxes, the kettle was found very quickly. I've just sat down for 5 mins and it's bliss. Ahhhhhhhh

To be honest I don't think they should do that, that's my opinion based on some research done that show that there are no real benefits in weighing women throughout pregnancy. BMI is not even near accurate at booking when we are 8-12 weeks nevermind later on!!! In my experience, I have seen women being told a midwife led unit is a no no because they have a high BMI, but when you see them in person all their weight is in their bums or thighs and they don't look big at all, so I have seen the rules being bent by charge midwives so these women can enjoy their pregnancy without the label of having a high BMI. Maybe controversial, but I don't think it should be done later in pregnancy xxx

Thank u- good to know your opinion! I don't think its fair personally either!

Hope holiday still going well :-)

Morning ladies, hope you all had a good weekend.

Got my GTT at 8.40 this morning. - all I want is a brew n breakfast ha ha.
Exam at college this afternoon.
28 week scan and consultant appointment tomorrow :).

Nice to see more ladies coming into tri 3 - though logging on and clicking tri 3 on here scares me a little as you see all the labour threads starting - won't be long till that's us - eeek.

Got a bargain yday off one of the Facebook selling sites - 5 mothercare pram/Moses basket sheets, 5 cellular blankets, 2 fleecy blankets for £5 - in pristine condition - I hadn't even thought about sheets.

Got a canvas wardrobe for the nursery for £4.99 it's black as the choice was black or bright pink :-/, and some draws to put bumps bit n bobs in 1 I.e nappies etc in the living room.
Just actually need get the nursery started now ha ha.

Hi all!

Lanny- hope your GTT went ok? I've had whooping cough in left arm and blood taken from right one today!!....So far both arms don't feel too bad at all :-)

Great bargain Lanny btw!.... I need to go through what blankets and sleeping bags we have! Xx

Thanks mum2b yh it was ok, said results be back in a week.
Hope ur ok after having both arms stabbed.

Was feeling ok today until I went to my sisters drop her card off. My mum & 2 older sisters were discussing weight etc ( we all plus size I'm usually the smallest. Well they started discussing me & my weight gain saying it's all on my tummy etc, so I gave in n got on the scales & from booking in at 8 weeks till today 27+6, I've put on 1 stone 3lb which I didn't think was too bad, but then started getting grief - like seriously I'm pregnant, I've lost it before I will loose it again.
So both sisters start saying they want gastric bands as non of us can loose weight blah blah blah - I can, I did & I will again it's down to will power (& slimming world for me) & not eating crap. GRRRRR Just needed vent sorry ladies.

Lanny- that's brilliant to have only put on 1stone 3lb! At 25 weeks i'd put on 1st11lb!!! :-/
U r doing great- don't listen to them!! Xx

yep we have one picked. took us ages lol! we are going with Lily Rose Waters xxx

Thx mum2b, tbh I dnt actually care what I've put on because I know once I'm back at slimming world the crap will be gone ha ha. And hopefully. Will go off chocolate again - before pregnancy I cud take it or leave it ATM I'm like ooooh chocolate ill eat that & I'm bloody well enjoying it :).

Georgia - I like the name you've picked :) x

Georgie- that's a beautiful name! Just the sort if thing I would choose if we were having a girl :-)

Good for u Lanny! I feel pretty ashamed of my weight gain.....I'm just really hoping it will b less in total than with Ethan (which was pretty much 4 stone :-( ) xx
