******August 2014 mummies******

Hey Kaffee, I know you must be busy with this weather but think of the money :) I would love a new house, it's actually getting me down now as I want more space, ours is ok just now but with 3 kids it will be too small, argh we can't really afford a much bigger house anyway but there is nothing in the area for sale so unless we move somewhere else I think we are stuck in here for now :(
So exciting for you though, new baby, new house and new car , brilliant ! Have fun.

Lottielou, I agree, the August mums and dad are the most friendly bunch :) x

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing ok.

The dreaded lets be sick before bed has returned with a passion these last few nights - joys.

Also last 2 nights all I've wanted for tea is chicken nuggets with onion rings & tomato sauce - I hate tomato sauce usually.

Busy week for me this coming week, college all day mon & Thursday, consultant appointment at maternity Tuesday cause I'm high risk, Wednesday I need to pack for the weekend, Friday got my MRI scan at 7.50am, then go away for the weekend at lunch time - I am so ready for a weekend away.
Hopefully I will attend the right appointment at the hospital on the right day this week - lol.
One of my friends has txt today to say we should go the spa at Alton a Towers to relax which will be nice.

Feeling sick to my core tonight too, yucky :/
I am feeling massive today, everyone has commented over the weekend on how much bigger I look, I feel so big right now I could burst !

I took this pic yesterday, do you think there is something wrong? I have my midwife's appointment tomorrow and will get her to measure my bump cause is way too big lol !

Mummy_midwife u look great! I am feeling huge and I too have had comments this weekend of how big I am for 15weeks! I think its coz its your third hun..... Try not to worry!
Saw Dr this morning- he said sinus infection and flu ( despite me having flu jab!) Can have paracetomol and that's it......feeling pretty sorry for myself :-(

I am overweight so I can't see any bump yet! I can tell I am bigger though as my coat is tight and a button popped off lol! I keep having to pee all the time, have done for the last few weeks but today it feels like the constant pressure down below when you need a pee, even though I don't, does anyone else have this?

Yes donnah, I'm a bit like that, sometimes worse than others......I'm assuming I feel it more when baby goes low down! I'm doing my pelvic floor like mad at the mo! X

Happy- I will add u on the list hun.....am on tapatalk at the mo and not sure how to edit it! But yay- u made it! Congrats! Xx

Kaffee- lots of exciting stuff happening with u! Hope the second viewing goes well- b good to have the house sorted :-)

Thank you girls!

Just been for my midwife appt, what a waste of bloody time, sorry but have to rant lol as usual my midwife was off today so another one took the clinic instead, half an hr late I was seen and this woman was just so cold and miserable and very patronising I must add, she wouldn't measure my bump as it's too early apparently!!! Asked a few questions and got a yes or no , nothing else. I asked for my bounty pack and she said she doesn't carry these things around with her and told me to just get some from the hospital when I am at work. Erm, no I will not get anything from my workplace thank you, but will register online. Asked about the homebirth meeting and omg she said if 'they were happy they would come round to the house at 34 weeks and if they decide they are happy for a homebirth then they would arrange it'... I think she forgot to say that it is actually my choice where I give birth. This midwife just reminded me of all the reasons why I wanted to be a midwife in the first place, to create a space where the woman and her family feel comfortable and safe to achieve a happy and healthy pregnancy , birth and beyond. This women needs a few lessons on how to be a midwife grrrr!

Rant over sorry!

Mum2b410 can't believe you have the flu ? After the flu jab? So not fair. At least it may be milder than if you hadn't had it maybe? Paracetamol only is harsh I know, do you feel any better at all? Poor you.
Glad I am not the only one getting the comments from people that I have popped ;) I am hoping it is as you say that I am big cause it's my 3rd!

Donnah, I seem to vary from not going to the toilet much to going every half am hr, some days are defo worse than others and I am still up once a night for a pee :(

Xxx

Is anyone still being/feeling sick? I am so sick and I swear it is getting worse...argh!!!xxx

I don't kno many people that had the flu jab then ended up with flu symptoms afterwards. It's putting me off going to get it!!

That's awful mummy midwife - hate rude people like that!! It's a good job you know the profession, imagine a young fort time mum that doesn't know any different?

I think its probably either the Dr is wrong (quite possible) or I have caught a different strain than the flu jab this year protects against! The sinus infection def fits in more with how symptoms have been the last few days...... I've been fighting something for weeks and its all just come to a head o think! Just want to get it over with and feel better now!..
. My main reason for going was to ask if baby would be OK- which he reassured me it would!

Mummy_midwife how crap! Therer r some people that really do let professions down by their conduct and she sounds like one of them! How archaic to b saying that 'they' will decide if u can have a home birth.....I would b seething! Xxx

It is very true happy84, I can remember being a very young 1st time mum and just 'being told' things, and didn't really think I had any choice in the matter tbh.

Mum2b410, I was seething hun lol , but really am going to try even harder from now on to be more sensitive to women so hoping some good will come out of today ! Being poorly is never good, but being pregnant really does add so much more to the picture doesn't it? Baby will be ok, it's mummy who needs to get better :hugs:

I got my perinatal mental health team appointment letter today, seeing them a week tomorrow so that is good, I do think they were prob. waiting until after my 12 week scan. They were really good last time so hoping they will be the same again :)

Bubblesch83 - I have had a bad 24 hrs and sickness has been quite bad, left me awake for hrs last night, I am still on high dose medication for it so you are definitely not alone hun; if you are suffering and want to chat there is the HG and NVP thread in pregnancy chat, everyone is very supportive and most of us are on tri 2 :) x

She sounds really miserable, it is a shame, maybe a long time in the job has made her that way, if you see her again perhaps remind her you have a lot of say in what happens!

Yes I shall, although I probably will never see her again as it is a big team ( at least I hope she is not the one delivering my baby ), just told hubby and he was surprised I didn't say much back to her as I am normally very vocal lol

But I thought no point arguing now as when the time comes I will fight if I have to ! I think you are right, she is probably ready to retire and doesn't enjoy what she does anymore ! xxx

Hi girls..
Still a week and a bit till I 'officially' move over but quite like having a seat booked here :)
Been moved forward a day to 23rd Aug next proper scan is 26th March

God I feel so far away from you all ! I hope some more August mummies come fill the gap in the middle soon!xx

welcome weezy, my 1st baby was due on 23rd August and he arrived on the 23rd :) x
