******August 2014 mummies******

Sounds awesome hun- just need some choc and your sorted :-)

Gosh I am terrible with keeping up with threads!

Sorry to hear some of you ladies are still feeling poorly, hopefully not too much longer before the elusive 'glow' appears!

Spots is a definite irritating problem, not suffering on my face but my shoulders and chest ...it was the same when pregnant with E, stupid hormones :(

Anyone having any cravings? When pregnant with E all I wanted was cheese and beetroot sandwiches, biscuits and chocolate (not together thankfully!) this time I couldn't bear the thought of anything sweet until a couple of weeks ago, now the odd Jaffa cake is amazing but that's about it on the sweet things... All I want is salad sandwiches and salt &vinegar crisps! Reckon that means a boy this time round?!

I am consultant led as well because I am diabetic and have a chronic illness. They haven't said that much, I have perfect wee apparently lol! It is more for the diabetes I think, go back in just over 3 weeks, they might put me on insulin then, I am trying to keep my blood sugar controlled so that I can put off insulin for as long as poss. They have put me on a low dose of aspirin daily as well to help the blood flow through the placenta. I was surprised when they said I was anaemic, take 2 iron tablets a day now.

Mum2b, you don't look fat but pretty pregnant to me :)

Donnah, would they consider putting you on metformin instead of insulin straight away? It sounds like you are controlling it just now and it would be a shame not try keeping you off the insulin for now... Just a thought but obviously you and the consultant would know best :) x

Hey lovely august mamas!!. God im feeling annoyed today ha. Trying to source a buggy extension and think of at least some names i may like! ! I forgot how hard it was to think of names!!! Eeeek.

Also today i found out my midwife wants me to see a consultant because i had gbs in last preg. . . I was praying for a homebirth this time. Dont understand why im high rosk this time when nothings diffrent from my last pregnancy :(

hope everyone else is happy today ha xxx

Mummy-midwife - I am on Metformin now hun, hoping to stay on it and off the insulin for as long as poss, testing my blood sugars 2-3 times every day at the mo, wills ee what they say when I go back x

I see Donnah, it makes sense now, I thought it was extreme to go from nothing to insulin :) I hope you manage to keep it under control and don't need anything else , I know pregnancy can throw your blood sugars but I have my fx for you.

Lottielou, I would had have thought they just wanted to see you to have a chat about the previous GBS. In my trust a previous GBS has no significance unless baby was affected by it. If your baby was fine last time then nothing would be done. Not sure what is like in your area but really there should be no reason for you to not have a home birth if this pregnancy is nice and normal ... Even if you test GBS positive this time you can still request a homebirth if you are informed about risks/benifits of it. I want a homebirth and it will take a very good reason for me to change my mind about my place of birth, unless me or baby are at considerable risk will I go to hospital, otherwise I am going nowhere lol

X

Just posted a thread girls.....think I'm losing my baby :-(

I just responded to your thread but didn't want to read & run on this. Sending hugs xxx

Just wrote on your thread Hunni xx again I hope all works out and it's just a bleed sending my love xx

Thanks girls.....its so typical that I was just starting to relax a bit and then this happens :-(

OMG hunni, I am in utter and complete shock. I wish they would bloody hurry up this scan ... This wait overnight is just unfair for you . Lots of love

:hugs:

I know....it seems v unfair. My hubby even went to delivery suite and asked there if anyone would see me....the midwife was lovely and did call the drs but they were all too busy!.... This is when I wish I had a doppler!..... I hope they ring me first thing.....they never said the scan would be tomorrow either, just that they would call with an appointment x

No they can't do that to you! That is appaling... Most hospitais have a portable scanner, I would say all hospitais but can't be certain. Even the country small ones have portable scanners surely they cold just use that to see what is going on 'til the morning when they can use a proper scanning machine.

I wish I could get a plane right now and bring my Doppler with me to see you :(

Here for you hun and have messages you my number if you need a chat x

Thank u.....only just saw your msg so have replied......I have no idea what they have at the hospital but I do know we don't have an epu and that u can't go straight to the day unit or delivery suite until u are past 20 weeks x

When I had my routine appt last week they bought the portable scanner in from the labour ward so they should have one, if worried go back and push for it. I have posted on your other message too x

Oh no, but he's doing a much needed job. I'm dealing with it too for Env Agency, so my OH is at home alone a lot too, maybe you could keep each other company?

Mum2b - good luck today Hun, if they give you the run around go straight to your nearest a&e and demand a scan. Xx
