There is still time to change my mind, and it's definitely not firmly team yellow yet!!! I think a part of me thinks other people won't care when baby comes if they know what it is - which is RIDICULOUS. I kind of want to find out to wind my MIL up - she was very firm this weekend about how she thinks a surprise is much better hahaha!! X

Maybe you don't find out (or even do lol) and refer to baby as he for a week or two then she for a week or two then vice versa haha.

Oh Jo I like that idea. Just to wind everyone up! Hahaha. I always referred to my Jakey bump as he, but we were team yellow (and I was convinced he was actually a she anyway!!!) and people thought we knew and weren't saying. How to play games with people hahaha!!!

Who here is taking any unpaid mat leave? I'm really considering upping mine to a year (but only 10.5 weeks unpaid, the rest holiday). I've done my numbers and it'll cost quite a bit in lost wages. My husband isn't on great money and my wage pays the main bills. We'll cope on SMP (I get no enhanced at all!), so I figure it'll probably "work out" ok on Mat leave, too? Ohhh it's all so scary haha!! X

We cant afford the 3ms unpaid.

But my annual keave goes from jan to dec so im hoping to save as much as possible before mat leave starts and use that to tag on the end on my 9ms off.
Ill only be returning 16hrs hopefully (currently doing 22hrs) so ill have a fair few hours saved and itll take me a while to use them up going bk just twice a week. So hoping to get as close to my 12m mark just by using the holidays up. Then return when ive run out xx

I refer to my bump as he or "Clint" and everyone tells me off as I'm the only one who thinks its a boy. Clint is a joke between me and my husband as our surname ward " Clint east ward "

Just a quick one in between my crazy hectic schedule to say that I had my DS boo test and all came back as low risk. So relieved given the fact that I'm in the OAP age bracket!

Taking 39 weeks + 7 weeks holiday so 46 weeks so we're just missing it by 6 weeks.,-can't afford unpaid leave. Just 13 weeks until i go on leave

Well am back from Dr's and I've been signed off work for a week given more sickness tablets and liquid paracetamol. had a mini break down at home from how work have spoke to me. :'( xx

How's your work being Jenni? You might've posted elsewhere and I haven't seen it yet!!!

My holiday year runs July-June so I go off at the end of it (and have no hols left!) then due back in mid Feb, so if I use all my holidays at the end (I only get stat minimum so I'd have 22 because of the bank hols) I'll be back end of March with no other time off till at least July! hubby seems to be coming round to the idea that we might be able to swing unpaid though! Why does money dictate so much of our lives eh?! Haha! X

Yeah me too. Fed up of crying (I know some of it will be hormones) I'm normally so strong but atm everything is getting to me.
We've decided that I'm going to take a year,my partner will be finishing his training and providing all goes well will get a promotion just as mat pay runs out! So may be able to afford it.xx
