***September 2016 Mummies - the last lap***

Ruby hope she is awake and with you ASAP!

SCL yep-- you just described all my babies! My first and Summer especially. Just on me 24/7! It's healthy- newborns are so utterly dependent on mama for survival that it makes sense to be literally attached to you at all times. Summer is either nursing or in the sling or asleep on me at all times!

I don't breastfeed and I don't really have enough body space to have them attached to me at all times, Thomas is really placid and Robert really isn't, and I just take it in turns to cuddle them when they are awake, but I think it's different when you bottle feed as you have a different kind of 'bond' (maybe not the right word) with them. It all comes out with the same out come but we feed every 4 hours so not in my arms the entire time in between - which makes it easier to play with my eldest - and the boys settle, calm and soothe to my voice/cuddles. But I think because they don't feed from my breast they are ok with being put down. All of my friends that have breastfed though have gone through what you are going through so I think it is completely normal x

Yep. Sounds familiar. I just need some sleep... Haha. Too scared to cosleep :-( Do you ever sleep then, Kholl?!

Yes, but only because we cosleep- I coslept with my older 2 as well. Just very careful about no blankets above her belly button line and no pillows anywhere near her face etc. I would get no sleep ever if I didn't cosleep.

Depends how still you sleep , a friend of mine slept with her son on her chest x

We have stopped breast feeding, running about after a 2 and 4 yr old and a newborn is not as hard as I thought it would be. The only thing I'm struggling with is bedtime. He sleeps for 45mins through the night. Last night I had enough so he slept next to me from 5.30am and he only woke at 8!

I want to buy a co sleep cot but hubby says no. I'm moving his crib right next to the bed tonight I hope it works

We put ours in their own room the other night, we weren't sleeping as every noise they made we were leaping up to check on them and they were asleep lol, they are only in the next room and we have the monitor and bedroom doors open and now we get sleep in between feeds lol. I don't know how people do it on a long term basis, do they sleep or do they just manage to block all the little sounds out? X

Finally my turn my beautiful son born 17th sept Baby 'Bowie Coen Pankras' 8lbs 1oz after a induction of 4 pessery's and going from 2cm dilation to birthing placenta for a grand total 2hours 14 very intense mins...He is just a little angel❤

We waited until Jackson was sleeping through the night at 7 weeks but the difference once we moved him was amazing.

He kept stirring and waking us or we would wake him. I did get some comments about it. But I just did what I felt was right and took precautions with mats and monitors. Never looked back. Jackson is 3.5 and still sleeps way better in his room in the quiet. Never any sleep issues or coming in to wake me...

xxxx

Liam never slept in our room as we had no space in our old house and his room was only 3 steps away, He sleeps incredibly well though and waits in bed for us to come and get him in the morning, he has a good set of lungs so you can't miss him shouting mummy I'm awake now lol x

She's doing good thanks, they're slowly weaning her off all the meds. She's got lovely dark brown hair with light brown highlights in it and it seems to grow by the second!! I might start calling her Rapunzel! I'm being discharged today but they've got some flats next to her unit so I'm going in one of those for a bit
