***** October 2015 Mummies ******

The plug is definitely different to normal discharge, you'll know it when you see it!!! I can only really describe it as a snot consistency rather than a jelly and it's quite stringy. It's also pinky and brown coloured and there is a lot of it!!! If I remember rightly it sits in your knickers coating them and doesn't just get absorbed like normal discharge does. Although that could be just my experience lol!!!

I started losing bits of mine regularly about 36 weeks and didn't go into labour until 41+2.

Is it to early to start sitting on a birthing ball? No bouncing but more like just sitting and rotating from side to side?

I have snotty creamy discharge
Lots of it that sticks to my underwear
Its minging. Lol

Plug is awful. Much more stringy and bogey like. Creamy pants here too. I always tend to wear a panty liner now. So I can change.
Such attractive conversations this tri LOL.

I feel like it been pregnant forever.

I've started putting together hospital bags, hopefully will get them finished tomorrow. Crazy feeling! Tomorrow we are going to put our moses basket and crib in to place to get both ourselves and our cats used to everything. A friend gave us a bag of old clothes for her little boy, and my OH keeps picking things up in amazement that there will be a little person fitting them soon. It's so lovely when realisation hits him; emotion is a very rare thing!

Aww that's nice carrie

We bought everything ages ago
Its the point where im not even sure what weve got now lol

I'm waiting for the dusty work to finish with the renovation before pulling stuff out for the hospital bag
If i go early then its all in one place for me to send hubby to pick stuff up should we really go that early lol

I started packing stuff into my labour ward/delivery room bag last week but still a few bits to get!

Don't feel like I've enough PJs/night dresses and I need more nursing bras and some very large knickers! I also think I need more newborn sized things, most of the things I have are 0-3 months. I also need to get adapters for our car seat to fit into our buggy and then we're all set! eeek.

I also bought one of these footmuffs, can't wait to see him all snuggled up in it! It's feather/down which will be lovely and warm through the winter.

I've not got maternity bras
A: i dunno my size
B: i dunno what size I'll be

Was thinking of waiting on milk coming in
Think thats leaving it too late though??

Not sure if there's a difference! a friend told me to get them slightly too big and that's what I did. They're only cheapie ones from Primark so if they're not right I can always get more.

I'm planning on cheap nursing bras not sure about bf till baby is here, you can get fitted if you want from the usual shops. I just got some from Matalan last time, slightly bigger x

Not even thought about nursing bras yet, my boobs are so big I would be lucky to get any.

how is everyone doing? I was told I would be discharged today if my BP stayed stable (which it has for days). Last two readings have been high. Eurgh!!!!!! So typical. My boy starts proper nursery tomorrow.

Awk how crap Barbra
Will you get a day release for him going in at least??

I cant complain
Not really when youre stuck in hospital
I hope you can get home
Are you on bp medication??

no medication. They would only grant me day release if my Bp remained stable. We all have our problems in pregnancy so complain away!

Nursing bras - I just use bikini tops until I decide if I'm carrying on with feeding, their quick and easy.

Georgesmum - oh no :( poops!! If it's any cancelation at all my boys used to scream and leave me devastated when I dropped them off at nursery, yet for anyone else they would be absolutely fine! Hopefully George will be fine and just have lots of fun stories to tell you :) xx

Jojo maman do a really good white/black stretchy nursing bra set. So nice and comfy and as not fixed size so fit whether you are full or empty. They don't give you the most uplift or shaping but I found I didn't give much of a crap about this especially in the first few months!

So I've four weeks left until mat leave, and have been signed off for the next two (with it being highly likely I'll be signed off for the remaining two too) due to being absolutely shattered to the core and also pelvic pain getting worse. Feels a little weird and a little like I shouldn't now do anything but sit on the sofa without feeling guilty for not being at work...

On another note: has anyone ever lost part of their mucus plug several weeks before their due date? I think some of mine just went (33+5). From what I read it's not necessarily something to worry about, so will just casually mention it to my midwife on Wednesday.

Sorry to hear you have been in pain Petchy but at least you can rest when you need to now and don't feel guilty I'm sure your work colleagues will have better peace of mind knowing you aren't struggling around the workplace - has your early leave affected your mat leave dates?

Oh gosh if people are losing their plugs already? We will be having babies soon!

has your early leave affected your mat leave dates?

No, this is sick leave, so won't affect my mat leave whatsoever. In Norway we have to start mat leave three weeks before due date anyway (those weeks are earmarked and you lose them if you don't take them) and so if my sick leave is extended after these two first weeks it will automatically turn into mat leave three weeks before my due date.

Georgesmum I have my fingers crossed that your BP stabilises & they allow you home at least for a little bit. Petchy so sorry you had to be signed off due to spd, it's pretty miserable, hopefully you can still enjoy the enforced rest.
Re maternity bras, a cup size or two up from normal should do the trick. Debenhams, Mothercare, kiddicare all stock decent maternity bras, the maternity ones are the ones with front clips & no underwire! They don't give the best support but if your planning on feeding yourself they are kind of essential!
My Hubbie has just left on business trip for week, he's nervous things will kick off while he is away (I got PE at 36/37 weeks during last pregnancy), so my Dad is flying over from Dublin tomorrow just incase as I would have nobody else to look after my daughter if anything happened to me. Unfortunately my daughter is also poorly, she has been running temp of 40 over last few nights, been up vomiting & very distressed of an evening, poor wee thing, Seemed a little better today, so hoping she sleeps through as I'm exhausted. A poorly toddler & being heavily pregnant do not mix well!
However only 2weeks left in work till mat leave, on the count down now!!
