***** October 2015 Mummies ******

You won't know yourself when you're off work, it's great that the countdown is on :) I've another four weeks that are going to be very busy... Ugh

I don't get braxton hicks at all, is it something only some people get? I can see how they'd make you antsy, they must be like a series of false alarms. That'd definitely have you on edge!

I wondered whether i was missing out too on the fb group last week lol

I read that Braxton Hicks are exacerbated by dehydration, lots of activity/lack of rest or if you have a full bladder/bowel. I was getting them quite badly at work on and off but now they've made a point of getting me to rest more it's not as bad. Personally I think mine get worse about an hour after lunch so I have been sitting down during that time. They may ease off when you break up Fliss, you do such a busy job- or at least you'll be able to lie down and rest at home (which also helps them to go again) x

I get loads of BX now but they are not painful, just noticeable tightenings. They are the strongest when my bladder needs emptying.

My lovely countdown app tells me that I have:
- 2 weeks until my next scan a the hospital. Can't wait to see the baby again, it should be nice and plump by then
- 17 days until I am FULL TERM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whaaaaat?!
- 22 days until my last day at work, WOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I am getting excited!! :)

Ooooh it's all becoming quite real now isn't it..we are approaching an exciting anticipation bit (before we go overdue and get really fed up again - but lets not think about that now! Anything could happen soon!) I for one have been obsessing about what's that worst that could happen if you tear - and having read 56700 posts from ladies last night I generally feel reassured - I'm sure I have a few niggles like everyone else - I was mainly worried about not having an enjoyable sex life after haha but most are saying that it might take time but usually no issues in that area -FEW!

I feel a bit dreamy lately too - imagining my new baby in her nursery and I have been washing all her little outfits so far - very cute :)

I haven't thought much about the possible (or should I say - very likely?!) tearing but I am a bit concern about dealing with 6 or so weeks of constant bleeding and obviously the pain down there. I hope all that combined with little sleep won't take away the joy of being a new mum... x

I seen a OBEM post yesterday i think
It was asking hiw peoples labours went
Lots were saying they were fine it was the after pains of the uterus shrinking that was worse
And it is usually worse if you breastfeed as the oxytocin released makes it contract quicker!
Nobody ever mentioned these pains to me before lol!!

Think I'm going to go with 'ignorance is bliss' approach

ah littletwix I'm with you on the swimming thing, although I haven't been for a week now and I'm hating the lack of exercise, I need to keep myself moving to feel good! I managed a good 2 miles over the course of last week and it was lurvly! Everytime I drive past the pool this week its packed and there are a few people in there that do the widest breaststroke you've ever seen; I don't fancy getting kicked!

I'm hoping to keep going until I'm around 37 weeks, but we shall see how we go....

I cant swim
I do a cross between a doggy paddle, breast stroke and a convincing drowning haha

I remember the bleeding for ages and uterus contracting down bits and they really aren't that bad ladies you'll be fine don't worry about that x

Also, if it's your cup of tea - my o/h has found a good cd for trying to zone out during labour i've been listening to it it's good :) - https://steveroach.com/Music/discography.php?albumID=27

My bleeding wasn't that heavy and only lasted 2 weeks last time. I had a second degree tear and it wasn't that bad either. The first few days were a bit tender. The cramps on feeding weren't terrible either and the upside is your stomach shrinks down really fast! Apparently the bf cramps get worse with each baby. The worst thing I found was painful "let down" in the first 10 days or so of BF. I used to count down from 10 though (as advised by the mw) and it was always gone by 1, so again not the end of the world.

I just had my HV home visit. After the big panic tidy up, she didn't go anywhere except the kitchen and it was a half hour routine chat about how HV works now!! Stupid woman here got all worried she'd be checking the house. I'd even brushed the rabbits for crying out loud .

Well done for the swimming girls, I'm only just managing short buggy walks now.

Yeah I'm thinking the same Carrie, might even go to 38 weeks! you don't feel remotely pregnant when you're in the water so I can't see why I'd need to stop. Don't want my waters going in there though - that'd be gross!

I'm the same with walking Fliss, I can only go very short distances at a really slow pace at the moment. With each step I can feel his head pressing on my cervix/bladder/nether regions. Swimming is a totally different story though!

Stacey, I'm getting all dreamy too :) holding my friend's new born baby the other day was beautiful. Can't believe I'm going to have one of those in less than two months! I keep staring at the tiny babygros I've bought in amazement, there's going to be a little person in there very soon. I also got all emotional at OBEM last night. I only saw the second half but I was a mess seeing those little babies being born :)

I'm not too worried about the BF contractions, if they make your tummy shrink back I'm all on for that! As for the tears, I'd be concerned about how you'd be 'down there' with regards to your love life as well, but given that so many women go on to have more babies it can't be that bad!

It was the fear of going to the toilet I found the worst bit. No-one warns you about that. I was a bit tender but nothing too horrendous. I breastfed at 1st but didn't remember any pains, I know the midwife made me lye down to check all was going down okay. I have heard second pregnancies can be sorer on the uterus.
That reminds me I must buy a new water jug for peeing!

! As for the tears, I'd be concerned about how you'd be 'down there' with regards to your love life as well, but givejn that so many women go on to have more babies it can't be that bad!

All you need is an understanding hubby and some wine! Funnily enough it really helps to get you in the mood when your hubby helps and does stuff with the baby! It feels different after but your lives in general are so different that this is the least of your concerns :-)

I have an understanding husband and wine can be arranged :) I think we'll do ok. I know my husband is going to be a great dad, he's great with kids, so patient and has a great sense of humour. I'm a lucky girl :) can't wait until we're a little family. Here I go getting all dreamy again!
