***** October 2015 Mummies ******

Oh yes forgot to say that I added extra freshly squeezed lemon juice to my cake mix...and I just used lemon juice and icing sugar for the drizzle x

Thank you!!! Will have a go at it on Saturday

The tips might be obvious to you all, but a few of the things she said was not to lie down during contractions as that's working against what the baby wants to do. You're better off up and about to help the baby's head move downwards with gravity.

she was also talking about stress hormones and how they can impede labour, the key is to stay relaxed. Another thing was to watch comedy or something funny to take your mind off things and to help release endorphins. We also did a bit of a meditation type thing which was good.

The other thing that I know I'm going to keep saying to myself is that the pain is only short-lived and is completely normal. Labour pain isn't like other pain in that it's supposed to feel sore, and there's a logical reason for it :)

I think just in general I felt kind of more prepared mentally for labour after it, the lady that did the session was brilliant :)

That's it MrsS - that's why I try not to bake! If i fancy something sweet I can always buy a slice of cake or something...not that I am listening to that at the moment. I've just polished off three flapjacks and have a burnt mouth because of it.

Thanks for the recipe Stacey, I might give that a go sometime, my husband loves lemony desserts and his birthday is coming up

I can see it being sore pushing them out
But surely theres no need for contractions to be painful?!

what I meant was because it's the muscles contracting so much to get the baby out it's sore and that's what happens when muscles contract, it's painful! like, there's a reason behind the pain, that'll help me I think.

If I understand why the pain is there then I think I can cope a bit better, rather than some completely random pain that has no explanation :)

Just burnt my mouth on my flapjacks...patience has never been a virtue of mine

I could do with a good flapjack recipe - wanna share? :)

This is the one I used

http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1148640/yummy-golden-syrup-flapjacks

I didn't bother with putting everything into a food processor, I just melted the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a pot and then added the oats. I only did them for 15 minutes, any longer and they would've been overdone :)

cor so much cake! Our office at work has a rule that if it's your birthday you have to bring in some nibbles. There's been a lot of birthdays recently! Lemon Drizzle Cake, Rocky Road, Banana Bread, Coconut and Cherry Yoghurt Cake, Chocolate Cupcakes. OOOOHHHHHH YYYYYEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!!

On a side note, I suffered with Restless Leg Syndrome really badly even before pregnancy and it has cranked up a notch since being so, I just wondered whether it is something you can feel beyond your legs?? In the evening when I'm starting to get tired I wills it on the sofa and just cannot get comfortable. I'm constantly twitching and just feeling generally uncomfortable. Anyone heard of/experienced this??

I get it carrie
I get it with fibromyalgia generally but its cranked up a notch now too
Particularly in bed at night i kick constant. Mainly its better if i can get them xool with good blood flow
End up taking underwear off (so full bottom half naked) which helps
I do get it on the couch or in the car too ( but only when im passenger!) i need to take shoes and socks off and have nothing cutting in to my skin
Sometimes getting up and moving for a couple minutes sorts it out
The thrashing about in bed lastnight has hurt my hip though !

When its bad though it can move into your thighs or even your hands/arms
I tend to just get it from the knee down though x

yeah I'm feeling it in my arms at the moment which is making me so annoyed, I just hate that I cant get comfortable. I was constantly moving yesterday until I went to bed because it was the only way I could feel comfortable.ARGH!

Felt like this yesterday with prickly restless legs and arms. Wasn't exactly itching but I tried some piriton before bed and this helped loads. My consultant last time said perfectly fine to use piriton (chlorphenamine 4mg). I really feel for anyone with this, its not nice, I was in tears yesterday with it. X

been in hospital all day. Seems i am borderline pre eclampsia. Urgh! Just one thing after another.

Oh no georgesmum
You ok?
What symptoms did you go in with?

sucks after the good news about placenta. Was a routine consultant appointment. looks like baby will be with us a little earlier and now have to go to hospital twice a week to be monitored. If it worsens, i am admitted for rest of pregnancy.
