I don't sing to him when he has a tizzy, I actually feel very overwhelmed when he screams as it always comes from nowhere?? He doesn't moan or whimper beforehand, he just screams.
It upsets and frightens me and I think that makes him worse?
OH is brilliant at soothing him, I kind of clam up??
I am fine when I know he is going to be upset, for example when he is waiting for a bottle or when I am getting him out of the bath I know he is going to yell so I am ready to calm him down but tonight he went from chilled out to being a red faced, screaming baby in seconds and I was thrown. It really knocks my confidence. I try rocking him, whispering in his ears, stroking him etc and he just gets more upset...
Luckily it's very rare now that he has a screaming fit out of the blue... He did eventually settle but I felt like a complete faliure!
As for pram wars and feeding snobbery - makes me embarrassed to be in the same "club" as the people that perpetuate this behaviour!
