**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

She'll be 6 and a half weeks by the time it comes as for some reason it takes ages? She's a noisy sleeper which is keeping me awake and OH has a mild form of Tourettes and his vocal tic is a quite loud, sudden cough which is making her do that reflex thing where her arms fly out every time he does it, so everyone's keeping everyone else awake. Im going to trial it for one night and if it doesn't work then fair enough but I am bloody exhausted, we have been taking it in turns to sleep in the bed while the other one attempts to sleep on the sofa, usually me! Xx

sally you need to swaddle her hun, you know the falling we get in our sleep, thats what babies get so her arms will flip and legs, i get my blanket up to his sholders keep his arms by his side and pull it and tuck under the matress, pop a towwel under the basket on the rail holder to slightly elivate the basket, this will help her to breath a little easier from been totally flat and the blacket will make her feel safe, no more noises :) arthurs the exact same xx

I've tried swaddling her but honestly no matter how tight I do it she breaks free in about 5 minutes :( its more the noise that unsettles her iykwim, I know she's startled because of her reaction but she would still hear it if she was swaddled :( xx

Goodness Sally!!! What a noises bed time :o how have you lasted soooo long? I can't stand noi at night I get very very irritable.

I too have a noisy little gremlin!

We're still in a one bedroom place though so nowhere to put him unless he wants to live in one of the walk-in cupboards

After James' 2 hour hissy fit he was an absolute angel and went straight to sleep after his last feed. He slept from 9pm - 5am!! 8 hours.

Sadly Mummy ended up wide awake for most of the night? I slept for maybe two hours then woke up and that was it for me. Come 3am I am expecting James to wake any moment for his feed and he just didn't?

We had a few hours in bed this morning but it was only a doze.

I feel destroyed! I am pleased that I managed to settle him for his longest sleep to date though.

xxxxxxx

Lol sometimes I want to punch OH in the face but he really can't help it, at least he doesn't have the swearing tic :P

Bless you Nat! Is there any chance of you getting a nap later on? Xx

I don't nap in the day anymore, I'll just go to bed nice and early with him later!

I.don't either lol, although I did yesterday evening its not a regular thing (no time!) xx

I can't nap during the day :( M won't nap in his basket, changing matt or play matt, only on me and I will not risk a cheeky snooze whilst I have him.

Nat, I'm constantly expecting him to wake so I'm wired. Don't know when I'll ever just sleep.

Talking of napping...

I didn't expect this, just had a shower so started feeding him before getting changed and blow drying hair, burped him and whilst finishing a comment in here he was asleep, I love it when he sleeps like this, it's like a hug. But the dilemma is do I wake him to dry my hair or leave him and have awful awful hair for the day, I did want to go out and about...my parrot is trying to wake him. I may have to throttle the bird he is piercingly loud this morning. He's with me so I don't know what he wants....I feel like I have 3 children. They all demand my attention it's such ha work.

If I don't give my birds attention, let them out they will pluck and they have been spoilt until M has been born, I'm slowly letting them out again, but they have a lot if restrictions I feel terrible.

I love it when he falls asleep when I wind LO.he just stays there leaning against my hand.

My poor dog has had a bit of a culture shock, bless her but she is really good though. Just keeps trying to lick LO any time she gets near him. It drives me nuts. She's not allowed to lick people and I have to tell her no licking everytime she goes near him.

Stuck in today as oh took took the only front door key to work. Doh! Poor dog needs a walk as well.

Strange.... MEN always seem to be the cause of our problems on this site.

Because it is true, but I'm glad I am not alone in thinking he is a bit of a sod sometimes.

kelly its such a lovely feeling skin to skin in his vest belly to belly and have a snooze xx

My poor cat seems about ready to pack her bags bless her!

James and I did pop out and I got to give my youngest nephew a nice cuddle. He's just 5 weeks

James got grouchy after an hour though so we're just home and I am going to feed him.

OH is not back at work for at least a week (he is waiting for a new contract to start) so we're just going to have a cosy afternoon!

xxxxxxxxx

Aww carnat that sounds lovely, a cosy afternoon.

I can't wait for my sil to have her baby (can't stand her, but since she's become pregnant we have something to talk about or Massan is a distraction) she will probs have a small baby so can't wait to hold a smaller baby and meet my niece or nephew :) and M will have a play mate soon. Xmas this year will be messy

cosy cuddles u cant beat nat :) happy days :D

well arthur has been asleep most of today however i havent due to as we have builders in and i had a rubbish sleep, other half is down south till tomorrow night, xx

Hello ladies

I took ella to my friends house in manchester for the night! was so nice to catch up with my friends. Ella was up all night, she wasnt crying but she was very unsettled asif she new we wasnt in our own home. Shes catching up now lol.

Wilson - when you are having a bath with arthur does your OH help? I want to have a bath with Ella but i would be scared on my own about holding her and getting in and out etc..??!! What temp do you have the water?

Might have some skin to skin with el later, not done it for weeks

Ruthie I bathe with M on my own.

I don't use a thermometer for the water just elbow test and a bit of common sense. But I'm not sure what temp fr a thermometer I'm sure someone will tell you.

Also it's actually very easy to do. I have him resting on my legs as I reach for things like cup, shampoo etc...we have a little cuddle which he likes then I have a towel waiting for him on the floor and I reach over to ace him on it then I get out of the bath, swaddle him and pick him back up. Easy.

If your oh can help then obviously t is easier but doable on your own.

I have never bathed with Cathy as I like my baths lobster hot but when I run her baths she actually likes them surprisingly warm. OH did the first few the way he likes his baths and she cried because it was too cold lol xx
