**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

Nat, I'm far from happy with my body at the minute. I am 10st, 1st over booking weight but my belly is annoying me the most. I was at the gym quite a bit once I went back to uni and it seemed to come down a good bit.. now it seems to have bloated out again? I look 2/3 months pregnant  and I know this sounds really weird because I just recently had my first AF but I am nearly convincing myself that I might be pregnant again to the point I am really thinking I should do a test! The times we have dtd we used contraception but in the same place for the past week or so I have felt exactly what it felt like when Lyla first starting kicking  I think its all in my mind to be honest but I think I might just test because I know you can feel earlier with subsequent pregnancies

Wow Chloe, that must have been freaky!

Will you still test even though AF has arrived?

I have just had baklava and cream for dessert, that explains why I am not losing any weight hey???

James was actually fine once I posted here. I fed him a little earlier and he had his long nap later... when he woke up he was dandy again???

He is such a good boy and rarely screams / cries so when he does it stops me in my tracks.

I think he is growing so he has been having a few extra oz's. I know if he gets cranky to give him some milk LOL!

Love the tattoo design btw sazz...

xxxxxxx

I think if I keep feeling something I will because its been for the past week now in the same spot. I do think its in my head and prob gas causing the bloating and the feeling something move but better to check just in case!

xx

Go for it hun.

I have missed pissing on sticks....

We'll have to have a sweepstake on who will be the first November Mummy to get preggers again LOL!

Happy 4 month birthday to Arthur! J is 4 months today too :yay:

Nat, I'm still 1.5 stone over my pre preg weight, but I don't think that's too bad since I put on 3.5 stone during pregnancy. I'm much taller so the weight is not too bad - people don't believe I'm still 1.5 stone over, but I can feel it particularly when I run.

Mrswoody - thanks! I would get out running now for a 10k in may. It didn't take me long to get back to running the distance but I'm still so slow! Not that I was fast at all in the first place. Sazz - respect to you running at 30 weeks, I found the bump too heavy!

So, J slept through the night last night for the first time! From the dreamfeed at 11:30 to waking at 6:30. Of course it was for my mother  she had to put the dummy in a few times. We've had a weird day today, he was quite upset and off his food this morning, I think he's teething. Then we had cranio this afternoon, he cried so much and it was so tiring for him. He went to bed early without his bath.

We've ordered our high chair which should arrive tomorrow, snow allowng!

What high chair did you go for L_a, I still cannot decide??

After a fraught afternoon yesterday James went to bed as normal but he was super restless and has been up since 5.30am  he is so sweet when he wakes in the morning though. He coo's and chatters and gurgles away. He didn't even take his first bottle until after 6.30??

He is napping now.

It's actually snowing here in London now and whilst I doubt it will settle it's not the nicest of days.

We have my nephews 2nd Birthday party later so we have to go out. It's only a 20 minute walk though, or hopefully my parents will take us!

Nat we went for the Oxo Tot Sprout. We did a lot of research on which and amazon reviews and this scored highly. I wanted something easy to clean and something fairly sleek because it will live in our dining room for at least a year. We got a £40 off voucher from Amazon Family that clinched the deal. I can't wait to try it out, he likes to watch when we eat.

Joe slept through the night again last night! From 11pm to 7am with just a couple of times he needed the dummy putting back in. I'm going to carry on replacing the dummy for now to settle him, but we'll hopefully phase that out next week. Right now I don't want to mess with success!

We have some white swirly stuff in the air, but it doesn't look like much and it's not settling. So far...

Hope you all enjoy your Saturday xxx

Wrap up warm Nat, hope the party goes well :)
We have a Dine and Recline for Madison, it was bought as a gift from sil, we haven't put her in it as yet.

No snow here just cold and grey. The weather doesn't usually get me down BUT I am desperate to see some spring sunshine.
x

That's lovely L_a.

I'm not sure why we still haven't decided? I am torn between investing in a decent high chair and getting a cheapo one.

How long until they can go in booster seats??

I also need a high chair that doesn't take up too much space.

xxxxxxxx

Afternoon ladies, hope your all wrapped up, we have about a foot of snow here :(

Its 6 months to the next car seat i believe nat, once stability is ok. Also asda high chairs are cheap and small :)

Arthurs back to his bad gripes through the night again :( now ive taken him off the formular. Stuck on what to do now.

Xx

I've felt a few kick like feelings too, my health visitor told me its perfectly normal to feel it as its just your insides moving back to where they used to be. She just randomly brought it up and now I notice it all the time! Apparently your organs take two years to get back to their original place. Weird! Xxx

Evening ladies. I never have time to catch up on the posts properly and Tapatalk means it's difficult to read as I type, sorry! Hope everyone is well :) has everyone sorted their sleep issues? C sleeps through the odd night but it's really infrequent and she had OH up 3 hours the other night!

Have had a nightmare day with C. She has barely slept, wants holding all the time, and screams if she isn't being entertained constantly. We are totally pooped! This leap has really kicked in with a vengeance :/ xx

Thanks mrswoody! That is a great help, gives me a wee idea of what to do next time! I think I saw a book on Amazon about baby swimming...maybe it is something I should invest in. I really don't want Aela to have problems when it comes to learning to swim as she gets older...especially as we have to cross water to get anywhere!

I think we are going to get the Cosatto Noodle highchair - I really like the fact it reclines and also has different height positions - means I can use it as a wee seat if needs be elsewhere in the house for her. Hoping to get it in the next couple of weeks if money allows because it's a pain in the bum having her in her bouncer on the floor when I'm up at the table with step-daughter! Normally end up having her on my lap because she wants to see what's going on!

This weekend I decided I AM going to get Aela to sleep in her crib, all through the night, and go down at a sensible time and give OH and I some time together! Before now we have had such a nightmare when it comes to her sleeping...she used to be okay in her crib, but we had to move into mum and dads for nearly 2 months while our house was being re-decorated and everything went to pot. She would never settle in her crib anymore, and even if we tried to put her in there asleep she would wake up, and so she was in the bed with us and this meant she fed more just because she could. Well with my step-daughter at her granny's I said NO MORE!

Last night was horrible and it was only when I actually gave up and just put the lullaby's on from the baby monitor that she went to sleep! She slept from 9.15 till 2.30 bar crying for 10 mins at 10 but once again I just put the lullaby's on. She also went straight down after her feeds in the night and I pulled her into bed at 7 for a cuddle before we got up. Tonight I put her down at 7.30, put her dummy back in and lullaby's on at 7.40 and she's been asleep since...I actually feel a MASSIVE sense of achievement. I just hope it continues!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend and not too many problems with the snow! It snowed all night here but none of it settled. Been very windy though and all the boats were cancelled yesterday afternoon and evening and my sister couldn't get home :( She managed to get home this morning though but the boats have been cancelled again apparently!xx

Glad you are sorting out Aela's sleep, putting C to bed at 7/7:30 was the best thing I ever did as quality time with OH is important :) xx

That's great news missyeovil. It's nice when you get a little time in the evening with your oh.

We've had a busy day shopping. We've bought T the mothercare arc high chair. We spent a bit of time in the shop just trying different ones and that was the best one. The tray comes in nice and close. T thought it was great fun trying different chairs.

He woke up a couple of times last night. At 3 I found him at the top of his cot trying to turn over. Couldn't believe he could wriggle so much. Then he just chatted to himself and feel back to sleep once I moved him back to the bottom of his cot.

It's so cold and wet here. Just wish spring would hurry up. X

Great news about the sleeping missyeovil! It really is great when they go down early :)
I think la and sazz both go to lessons so maybe they have some other things you can try.
M has been really good at going down however tonight has been a battle and me and oh are sitting on the bed with her while she drifts off scared to move incase she wakes! Lol

Thanks for the prompt mrswoody. Sorry, missyeovil I completely missed your question.

We go to lessons, but we've only had a few so far. It's really just about getting the babies comfortable in the water at this stage. We "swim" as mrswoody describes, we float the baby on his back with a hand under the head and another under the back, we say "ready, go" and then wipe water down the baby's face to get them used to holding their breath. We sit the baby on the side and then bring them into the water, to get used to hitting the surface of the water. We also pull the baby under the water for a few seconds so they get used to holding their breath and going underwater, but I don't think I would have had the confidence to do this on my own. J doesn't like that much.

Hope that helps. It's nothing complicated and we only do about 30 mins in the water. J finds it very tiring.

Thanks L_A :) I'm not sure about dunking her without having someone who actually knows what they are doing there either but maybe...do you blow in his face first to get him to take a breath?xx

Nope, we just say "name, ready, go" a little pause after go and then bring them under and pull them under the surface for a second or so, about 30cm under. When they come up the babies can look shocked, or even not breathe for a second or two, or cough, or sneeze, or cry. We smile a lot and make a big fuss of them. If you do it towards you while moving backwards the baby will come up facing you. Apparently when small babies, they have some sort of reflex that means they won't inhale the water.
