**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

Hi ladies! Hope we are all ok and enjoying the weather?

Harry is asleep so I'm going to catch up on the thread in a minute!

We have 2 teeth here! One yesterday and one today! He's now sitting up fine and has spend the last 2 days rocking on all fours and launching himself forward! One of these resulted in a cut lip but he was fine. Everything just seems to happen all at once!

Hope all mums and babies are well
Xx

Gaaaah I'm actually so happy! Aela self settled in her cotbed for the first time ever for this morning's nap! Took a lot of perseverance from OH before he went to work but she has been down an hour and a half now! Finally might be able to get her into her own room rather than sleeping in the pram....I hope I haven't got too excited too soon!xx

Yay for Aela! :yay: Fingers crossed that you've cracked it.

Well done Harry, sounds like he'll be on the move soon. I reckon J is days away from crawling too.

Xxxx

hi emma how are u and harry? the weather has settled here so a nice few days of cool is welcome :)

hi missy r u ok? yayy to aela self settling its fab when do they it :)

Hi la are u ok? is j on the move too, arthur is on all 4's rocking back n too but i dont think he will move just yet, hes starting to try to pull up on the boxes at the minute so i think he'll walk before crawling lol

Arthur spent the 1st night in his room last night and only woke twice slept from 7.30pm-7am then come in bed for an hour with us :) so hes had naps in there today and has started to sooth back off to sleep on awakenings, so with time im hoping he will start to do it at night :) xx

We had one cooler day in London yesterday but it is hot, hot, hot again today.... forecast reckons 32c tomorrow

We'll be staying in I think! That is too hot for bub...

I ordered James the V-Tech walker today, and I am starting to get together all his 12-18m bits and pieces.

We've had a grumpy few days. Well grumpy for James anyway but he's had 4 poo's today, some pretty solid and painful.... so I am hoping he'll be more cheerful tomorrow.

Nothing else to report. No teeth, still not sitting up willingly (he can but doesn't want to ), he is eating quite well though and although he hasn't dropped a bottle he's dropped a good few oz's a day.

I washed all his 9-12m clothes today and packed up some of the smaller bits. My baby is getting so big.

xxxxxxxx

Hi ladies!

Hope you and babies are all well.

The past few days M has started to wave when you say hello to her, she seems very pleased with herself that she can do it. I'm trying to get her crawling but she is quite getting it just yet, I doubt it will be long though.

I am worried testimony now providing enough stimulation for her :/ she has toys that light up and sing, her jumperoo and I will sing songs with her and chat to her but to sure what else I should be doing?

Her top tooth is coming in now, only noticed yesterday and I heard her grind her teeth together earlier!

Little cooler here today after a thunderstorm through the night, I even slept under the duvet last night! Ha

xx

Hi mrsw how are u, cooler here too but still doesnt stop arthur from wanting not to go to sleep :/ little sod will only sleep at lunch now, fully knocked his am n tea naps off now.

Sounds like m will be crawling soon :) then your eyes in the back of the head will need to set in..has anyone thought about a play pen??

As for stimulation hun i think yr doing enough, u go swimming to which is really good :) ve started to try and take arthur out once or every other day as i find he stimulates well off other people n babies :)) do you go to a play group at all xx

I wouldn't worry about stimulation as like Wilson says, you go places and do things!

We have that walker Nat, I love it. She's had it nearly a month now and plays with all the toys on the front and is starting to pull herself up with it too. She loves pulling the phone off and me putting it back again and repeat!!

Wilson - we won't get a playpen because we don't have the space for it and I'm just going to make sure everywhere is totally baby proof. If I need to go to the loo or something I will plonk her in her cot and the rest of the time I'll just have to chase her round the room! She's so close to crawling, it's just her legs she can't work out!

mrsw - We have no sign of top teeth yet but are still waiting on the bottom two either side of the first two to come through. I've been seeing them under the gums for 3 weeks or so now but they just won't come through! She doesn't seem to be as bad with them as the first two but it's still making her a bit grumpy!xx

Morning ladies,

Hope you have all been enjoying the Royal baby news? It sure bought it all back for me - I felt like shit after having James but it was still the most amazing time of my life

I posted the other day about us still using the Bumbo but the very next day James launched himself out of it

He has also finally learned to turn over in his sleeping bags so bedtime is playtime.. It went on until 10pm (him turning himself over and getting caught and crying until I turned him back over!)

Is Airwrap for the cotbed a solution?

MissY is the walker thing suitable before they are pulling themselves up? I guess it is helpful for the to learn?

I've started buying bits for James' Birthday already as we need to spread the cost... so far I've got banners, balloons, candles, a few books, some socks :wall2: and some lovely PJ's. Will keep an eye out for more bits!

Not as warm today, thank God!!

Just procrastinating about going out for a run here!

Loved the royal baby on TV last night. I was in floods of tears. Kate looked dazed, but she did so well. I couldn't even stand the day after I gave birth. I keep worrying about her, hoping she's doing OK. The first few days are so hard and with all the added pressure... I hope they have someone good to help them.

Mrswoody - I don't think you need to worry about stimulation. You do loads of stuff with M and I think the most important stimulation at the moment is being out and about and spending time with people and other children. They are listening to speech and making sense of the world.

Nat - I'm afraid air wrap is not a solution. We have it and J still gets his legs above the air wrap and can still use the bars to push off through the air wrap. It does stop the dummy escaping the cot though, which we like! We started the turning over in the cot last week and he's still doing it, but it was a novelty for the first few days and he did it incessantly. Now he just does it a few times if he's not tired enough when we put him down.

All good here, enjoying the lovely weather and spending plenty of time outdoors. J loves his paddling pool and we had all the NCT babies in the other days which he thought was hilarious. The IL visit at the weekend went well, they could see a real difference in J and talked a lot about what a contented and "good" baby he was, which made me feel good.

I'm just registering him for play group at 3 years! Our village group is very popular and it's advised to get your name down ASAP.

La how was that run? ;) You're right about registering early, my friend who hasn't even had her baby yet is looking into Nursery places, she wanted into the same one as Madison is going into and they have no spaces until possibly September 2014!

Nat, I'm not sure the Airwrap will prevent James from flipping itself over? Possibly stopping him from getting his legs and arms stuck thoug. Madison won't lie on her back now and does about 3 laps of the cot before she settles for a position! I will grab some photos of her and post them up!

Wilson, we have now finished swimming for the summer but will going onto the next level so this will be our 3rd term. Not sure ill continue with it after the winter though.

The next issue I have is a new carseat for M. It is giving me a headache but I have found a really good baby shop not so far away so I'm going up there next week with both cars to try out seats and see what works etc if its not one thing it's another right? :)

Nat - yes it is suitable before they are pulling themselves up as there are loads of buttons on the front to be pressing (bashing!). If you didn't want to have the whole walker set up the activity panel on the front detaches completely so you could do that for him to play with before you need the actual walker part. xx

Mrswoody - I procrastinated long enough that I didn't have time this morning, so I went out this evening instead and did 4 miles. I prefer to run in the early evening if I can, I'm so not a morning person! xx

Argh I'm having such a rubbish couple of days.

Yesterday I took the girls swimming and I went to the loo and nearly went flying as the floor seemed soapy but managed to stay standing and went to get the girls. The other floors seemed slippy but I thought maybe there was a bit of soap on my foot and it would just come off by the time I got to the pool...turns out all the floors were soapy. I was carrying Aela and I put the tip of my foot onto the step in the baby pool and went flying down the steps. Somehow I managed to keep Aela from banging herself and above the water but I smacked my elbow and hip. Never said anything because there was no one to say it to! There was no lifeguard on duty and when I was leaving there wasn't even anyone at reception!

Then today I'm just feeling a bit rubbish because I have spent all summer holidays bending over backwards for S taking her to things that a couple of days she denies even remembering. Today she went to part of a "fun week" at the church and she came out bouncing for joy saying she couldn't wait to go back tomorrow. Then her mum decided to come and see her for the first time in 3 weeks and now S has decided she hated the fun week and has gone to her mums where she will sit in a dark room until I go and get her getting absolutely no stimulation. I don't want her to not see her mum but it annoys be that S really enjoyed something but because her mum never bothers to spend any time with her she has to take her chance when she gets it. Her mum will be working tomorrow and so it will be her mum's ex's mum that is looking after S. I can't really see the point. OH is pretty annoyed about it too. I think I'm just getting over upset but I literally do my utmost to do things with her that she'll enjoy and take her places she'll find interesting but I get absolutely no thanks for it ever. Just no respect to the fact I might like to make plans for myself and my daughter sometimes.

Sorry ladies, just really needed a rant! Think I just need a good sleep tbh!xx

Hugs missy.. You really should report the incident in the swimming pool. Hope the pain eases up soon. I know it can be frustrating with ohs little girl but as long as you are doing the best for her she will soon realise she misses being with you all.

La,you do better than me, if I decide no yo a run there is no going back!

xx

I would def mention the incident next time you go swimming MissY!

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit stressed. I can only imagine how hard it is being a stepmummy! I also know that you've mentioned S's real Mum isn't all that great with her and it makes me so sad... thankfully S has you though sweetie

I am feeling like death today, had too much wine last night. Popped out with a few friends, didn't eat and haven't been sleeping so the booze just hit me.

I am teetotal from now on!

Waiting in for a delivery today so we weren't going out, James is asleep so I may well have a nap :)

PS ladies I have added a petition to my signature, can you all sign it please.

It's about the treatment of ladies that have miscarriages (campaigning for there to be separate units so ladies suffering losses don't have to to the labour ward / speed up waiting times for D&C's / leave from work - things like this!!)

Hi ladies!
Hope we are all well?

Wilson- we are well thank you, hope you and Arthur are? He's gorgeous! How is he doing now with pulling himself up?

Missy- hope you are ok? I completely know where you are coming from with your step daughter, but it sounds like you are doing all you can do and hopefully one day she will realise that it's you that made the effort to look after her and not her mother, and you should feel good about the fact that you are juggling your own daughter with her and its sounds like you are doing a very good job of it. Step kids are never going to be easy but we just have to do our best, even if they don't appreciate it now (I really need to follow my own advice haha)

Nat- I totally got royal baby fever as well, they are just a lovely couple and looked so pleased to be parents! Also how amazing you are off work till January, I'm so jealous, I went in yesterday and I'm back 4 weeks on Monday :-(

Mrsw- sound like she is doing really well, how amazing is it when they do things and I think it sounds like she has lots of stimulation, I feel bad now for letting Harry roll around playing with an empty packet of baby wipes!

Sorry if I've talked about stuff from days ago and hope everybody and their babies are doing well :-)

I've finally got a minute now, OH has nipped to his mums and Harry is fast asleep! We now have the top teeth ready to pop through but he doesn't seem as bad with these as he did the bottom ones? Anybody else have this?
And today he crawled!! It was the funniest thing, I think he shocked himself he was actually moving forwards! So will be baby proofing the house this weekend!

Hope everybody has a great weekend!
