**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

M is an early riser. Wakes up at 5.30 every morning. Awake for two hours, including a feed and a play, then he snoozes for almost 2hours. I get an extra hour nap and time to shower etc...I don't mind, he sleeps all night (mostly) and I'm an early riser too.

M is on formula and my HV said that when he takes less than 500ml of milk in a day, then to supplement. As he is having more than 500ml at the moment, I don't supplement.

Just discovered little red spots on M's head...couldn't not work them out until going through photos from yesterday...it's sunburn from his straw hat...bless him. He is actually turning quite tanned in his arms and legs and belly as he has been outside nearly all day most days. He is shaded most of the time and wears sun cream. He hasn't got burnt, apart from those little round dots on his head. I thought the HV yesterday would not be too impressed with his colouring, but she was really enthusiastic. YEY. It's cleared his cradle cap and eczema too :) I love this weather.

Anyone got any good purée recipes for chicken? He hasn't had chicken yet. I made a beef stew for him and puréed the whole batch...looks disgusting. He has had some fish but not sure on chicken, but I haven't looked yet so maybe some of you ladies have some??

Hi kelly hope yr ok?!
Unfortunatly im baby led weaning do i dont have no puree recipes, but i give chicken, butternut squash and red pepper for arthurs meals, he loves it!

Nat camden is fab, only ever been once, but i could shop sll day there lol.

I dont think arthur knows what sleep is, he still happily feeding 2hely at night :(

Kerrie rothervalley is beaut isnt it, its the view i have from my garden its stunning xx

There are a few recipes here Kelly! I see one for chicken puree....

Like Wilson I do BLW as well. Not given James meat for a good few days actually. Will treat him to some tomorrow LOL

It's been so beautiful today. The weather forecast reckons it will be like this until Sunday.

We did indeed walk down to Camden, then we went via the synchronised water fountains on the way home. James was napping so we parked up right by the fountains and I managed to have a whole half an hour to read a magazine and drink a coffee!! Amazeballs.

Brilliant, thanks Nat.

M's fave food is steamed butternut squash :-) I don't do blw but I do give him plenty of finger food, but he would much rather have the messier purée and fling it in places other than his mouth :) bless.

I certainly do hope the weather stays all week, I'm getting a nice little bit of colour on my pasty skin :D

Still 2hourly feeds? :o

yer he's got 6 teeth so he's wanting to comfort feed again, and hes full of a snotty cold and runny eyes :( he has about 10 sucks then goes back to sleep so its not a long process.

Nat did you buy anything in Camden? I went to leeds today for my new job for doucument checks and to get my training dates, and I had to take Arthur, so I chucked the mei tai sling on him and marched crossed leeds with him, it was a well posh hotel in leeds and I got some right looks from people they had interview and they was waiting, but what they didn't kniw is that they said I was ok to bring him lol, quickly shot back home and tuck Arthur to water babies and he had a moving swim under water this time, but because he was on the verge with this cold it made him cry because the water got stuck on his throat :(we tuck him out to our gayboroughs friends for tea and had to bring him home because he is a poorly bunny, which im not best happy with as my oh mum let his cousins play with him and they are full of it yesterday when I asked her not to, so now Arthur is full of it :( hes sobbing the house down as he can not breath properly.

xx

Poor A!! Hope he managed some sleep (not that he sleeps great at the best of times)

James still hasn't *touch wood* had anything more than the sniffles. As he has a dummy though it makes him so grumpy if his nose is a bit blocked as he struggles to breathe. Thankfully he's shaken any nasties off after a few days.

I am dreading him going to a childminder though as no doubt he'll catch everything in sight

Little legs is still asleep??? He came in with us at 6am but is spreadeagled on my side so I am up LOL! He only had 6 oz for his last feed [he normally has 8 oz] so I expected him up early?

Got to have a quick clean this morning then off here today http://www.waterlowpark.org.uk/pages/photos/gallery.php

Morning nat

Terrible night last night, arthur cried all night in pain, hes burning a right fever and wouldnt even feed.
Ive woke with a bad sore throat this morning too, :(

Hope u have a nice day

Xx

I guessed you wouldn't have a great night hun!

Lots of cool flannels, pop him in something really lightweight and just keep him covered with muslins (James won't settle without something covering him?)

And of course lots of Mummy cuddles.

Will you give him some calpol?

I always catch summer colds *touch wood nothing yet so far* and it's horrible!!

Ive stripped him down to his vest and popped him in our bed, dosed him up on calpol, everytime he sneezes his snot shoots out of his nose into his mouth, sometimes its green so going to keep an eye on him as I don't want it getting to chesty then hes got an infection.
Hes coughing his poorly little lungs up bless him, still quite mad they don't listen to me when I say keep the twins away from him, I feel its still to ickle to have sore throats and colds, coughs and all that jazz :( or is it me just over reacting?

Saying that about summer colds nat I normally have a good old dose of them and sickness and runs, but while breastfeeding and pregnant ive had 1 cold and 2 lots of sickness and runs, so im doing good actually lol xx

I think it's just common sense to keep poorly kiddies away from 6 month old babies?

I know you can't protect them from everything but there is no need to put them at extra risk.

I went mental that someone came to a friend's little one's Birthday party with a child that had a streaming cold. I was about 16 weeks preggers at the time and so pissed off but there were loads of other babies and toddlers there as well?

Sorry for the rant LOL

All you can do it look after little legs and I am sure he'll be fighting fit soon.

I have a very good immune system. Have only ever had one bout of D&V I recall as an adult and I haven't had a cold in about 18 months. I do however get random ailments (my stupid foot for example which is still in a lot of pain and I going back for 3rd time to dr's)

Off to mop there floors why James is napping and I'll get myself ready and pop some breakkie on. Will do eggy bread for him today

Very quiet in the November mummies thread, I suspect this glorious sunshine has a lot to answer for :)
I am loving the warm weather and being able to get Lady M in her summer clothes :)
We have just been out in the garden mostly, I bought her a UV tent with ball/paddling pool so she's been in that mostly.
She is certainly finding her voice more and more and screaming loads! She has broken out in patchy dry bits on her chest, belly, back and legs so I've applied Sudocrem and hopefully this will work on it. If not ill get her to the sox for something better.

Wilson sorry to hear poor A isn't very well hope he perks up soon. It does annoy me when people being their kids who are really poorly out to places. I mean surely if you felt that sick all you'd want to do was rest?!

xx

It has been quiet here, hopefully everyone is having the wonderful weather we've had in London!!

I had such a weird experience yesterday. Went to a small park (near where I used to live - very residential) and got talking to a lady. She was telling me about all the community stuff they do and recommending mother and baby activities etc. She was sitting a bit away from us. We were just passing the time of day and she asks about baby (who old, what sex as he was facing the other way asleep) she then comes over coo's over him a little sits next to me and lights up a fag

I mean WTF. Seriously!

I was in total and utter shock.

I am an ex smoker (stopped 25 months ago) and my OH has the occasional roll up outside so I am in no way a militant anti-smoker. But do not come and sit near my baby and light up a fag.

I wish I'd had the guts to say something but I just made my excuses and left.

Other than that we had a lovely day.

Little legs is still asleep

004.JPG

Touch wood he's been sleeping in until 7ish but he does come in with us. We've both been up since just after 6am.

Off to get fatty weighed then home for breakkie then we'll head out. Debating if my foot will make it to the Southbank or not, it will be about an hours walk each way

James is now 17lbs 6oz and for the first time ever up to 50th centile

So happy, also means I have a bit of leeway when he finally starts teething (or catches a bug) and is off his food!

Also means he must be getting something from all the food we've been giving him??

Yayy, well done james :) bet your chuffed :) cant brlieve the woman and her cig :( i think i would have just said bye and left too.

Well arthur cried every half hr from 10-3am last night, so brought him in bed at 3am and just cuddled him to sleep andhe didnt wake till 7am, he seems a bit better today, he managed some big boys poridge so he must be feeling better :) still very snoty and chesty and ive got it too.

Thought id tame the bing wings today and mow the lawn, plus i get a tan too lol xx

Mrsw where did u get yr tent from we need one for our garden as we have no shade xx

Hey all feel like I haven't been on in ages!!

Lyla was 6 months last Saturday! Nuts! She has become so grown up so quickly it scares me every day! She is now saying Dada all the time and laughs and smiles when he responds. She also calls me dada so I'm trying to get her to say mama no luck  she can also say hiya and attempts to say Lyla more like lala

We went away for a weekend to the beach with the little lady and she loved it! We did too as we got a free upgrade to the presidential suite!! It was MASSIVE!

Lyla cut her second tooth yesterday so I'm hoping thats the teething out of the way for now as her top ones are no where to be seen!

Some amazing news as well! While we were away we fell in love with a castle in Co.Mayo. Belleek castle. And we have decided to move our wedding forward so it is now planned for 30th November this year!!! A day before Lyla's first birthday! That only gives me 6 months to plan everything! Decided on a ceremony in a clearing in the woods and have the reception in the castle great hall. It looks absolutely amazing! Doing it early for OHs mother as she has cancer and isn't really responding well to the chemo!

Anyway few piccies and I'll try and get on more!!

Nat that's terrible about that woman! How bloody rude! But great wight for James he obviously loves his mummas cooking! E looks fab in the photo fast asleep :) an he have a word with M about how to do it? Hehe

Wilson..I got the tent and ball bit from Tesco. It was £20 but worth it as we have zero shade till ate afternoon in the garden.
Funnily enough today it was leathered down with the odd rumble of thunder/lightening!

Hello Chloe! Great to hear how Layla is doing, love her photos! Sounds like an amazing venue and it is totally doable to plan a wedding in 6 months :) how exciting!

I have put all Lady Ms 3-6month stuff away now and moved to 6-9moth stuff out! She is growing loads and today she looks so grown up! She s so responsive though which is just amazing!

Lyla and Madison are looking beautiful as always ladies!

Chloe, lovely to hear you have your venue and I think 6 months is do-able. Also it makes it special that MIL will be here to see it. Venue sounds delightful...

When was your original date hun?

James still fits into some 3-6 month PJ's (they don't fit but we use them for feeding) and a few tops but other than that he's been in 6-9 months stuff since just before he was 6 months. He is such a long baby though. I'll have to get a piccie of me holding him - it looks odd as I am only 5ft 1in LOL!!

It's been raining here in London earlier, the local weather (on ITV) keeps saying 25c and sunny but it's cloudy and much cooler?? So we've had an afternoon in. Bub is fast asleep so I am just pottering.

Thanks for that mrsw, will go and invest in one.

Chloe thats great about yr wedding and on Arthurs birthday too :) double celebrations.

Well ive had Arthur at the drs he has screamed the house down crying, dr reckons its his viral infection but i think its the oats this morning. He puked at the drsand did a massive fart when back home and he then went to sleep, but we had real tears, blue lips, i couldnt stop him crying so hard :(

Hes now asleep, but gp said no food just water and boobie bless him xx
