**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

Nawwww... Looks like he's loving that spoon! What did you try him on?

Sally ive never thought about thst, i tuck him to the drs the other day and he said it was a bug :(

Ive just spoke to the hv who said its highly unlikely for babies to be intolorance through breast milk, but i will get colrelief, and try that xx
xx

Have you tried cutting things out of your own diet to see if it makes a difference to A? I have a friend who realised eating strong cheeses was causing her wee man to get a sore tummy so she's just stopped eating them while she's still BFing. Maybe worth a try?xx

He was just having porridge today mrsw!

He has cauliflower and carrot batons later though

Wilson, do you eat much spicy / garlicky stuff? My friend had to virtually cut garlic and spice out as her LO had a sensitive tummy

xxxxxx

Hi missy u ok?

To be fair im very careful what i eat, i eat alot of fruit n veg and dont really eat rubbish, i know i need to up my water intake, im a very old fashion cook, tradional dinners so there isnt anything like garlic or spices :( xx

I found this list of foods which can be responsible for problems in BF babies. I think there is a lot of conflicting information out there about which foods may or may not cause problems but there's quite a few vegetables on there which might cause problems, not sure if you eat any of them but possibly worth avoiding for a few days?

I was surprised onions are on the list actually! I almost cut out dairy with A because she seemed like she had a sore tummy but suddenly something changed (no idea what!) and she started bringing wind up (and down) all the time very easily. Now we've just got these bloody teeth to deal with!xx

So i cant eat much then lol

Thanku for that hun, really greatful xx

Haha, if I cut out the things on that list I don't think I'd eat anything! But if it helps Arthur's tum it's worth a try. I hope it gets sorted soon because it's really been going on a long time, poor thing xxx

Amanda I can't offer any advice the other ladies haven't given already, just hugs! Hope you get some answers and things improve.

Not much going on here today. I went to go and get some plums as C is running out of plum puree but the grocers didn't have any! So that was a waste of a trip!

My auntie and uncle have stopped by as usual and C showed off sitting up on her own and had some sweet potato and carrot puree, an oz of water, and then 4oz of milk. Little piglet. She's fast asleep now :) hope everyone is well. Xx

Mrsw thanku for that i think u have hit the nail on the head :)

I think im going to go to expressing, i expressed 5oz off from one boobie and arthur nailed it and hasnt once whinged or moaned :)

Im going to give that a good read now thankyou again and to the other girlies for yr advice. It has gone on far to long now and i dont think its a bug has hes never slept all night, he wskes wanting to feed more and more. Maybe expressing and fully emptying the boobie on my own will help this.

Well ive got the church tonight for a practice rehearsal for tomorrow :)
Wish me luck xx

Wow - there's a lot of stuff in that article I can relate to - seems to have passed now but 6 weeks ago that would have explained quite a bit!xxx

Good luck with expressing and with the rehearsal Wilson :)

How did giving Cathy water go Sally? Did you get her to take it from a bottle/cup or did the squishy cheek thing work?

I am off out tonight and leaving A with mum and dad - sooo nervous about it but excited about getting a night out! Worrying I've not got enough milk stored and about waking up to express blah blah blah. Think I need to relax! Sure I'll be fine once I get a glass of wine down me. OH is trying to get me on the vodka and jagerbombs! I must stand strong or I won't be able to feed A for ageeeeees getting all the alcohol out the milk!xx

Gosh it's Arthur's christening tomorrow isn't it??

Wowser, time is flying.

I can't wait to see some piccies, good luck for the rehearsal.

James just had some cauliflower - he really yams it in his mouth and takes off quite big chunks. I am still finding it quite scary as he did the same with broccoli and carrot. He does spit everything out but it's still scary.

I am going to start with combinations now as I am further in my BLW book and it says to offer a selection.

What combo's go together?

I did cauliflower and carrot batons yesterday.

Tomorrow I am going to try green beans and baby sweetcorn I think? I may throw in some carrots too - lots of different colours.

In all honesty though James isn't interested. He likes the spoon [I use a spoon with baby porridge] but every single thing I have tried with him has been met with indifference. He doesn't even seem that interested in playing with it which makes me question if he is quite ready? He rarely picks up the food himself but once I put it into his hand it goes straight to his mouth. BLW says he should be picking it up himself and he isn't.

I am wondering if I should just go back to milk and start it all again in a few weeks?

Think OH is treating us to a Chinese later, very unhealthy (and expensive as we go to the really good one near us that doesn't even deliver - you have to collect!)

xxxxxxxx

Bloody hell Amanda you're a brave woman! Expressing nearly broke me. It should be easier now your supply is established though. Good luck let us know how it goes!

MissYeovil nope she was too smart for the squashy cheeks (although it was too cute doing it lolololol) so for now I'm giving her diluted cooking water from some apples (so not quite apple juice lol). Then I'll start diluting it more so I wean her off the juice iykwim? Thanks for asking hun :)

Carnat... I think you can do pretty much any combo you want. Babies don't exactly have a refined palate. Plus have you seem some of the EK pouch combos! C quite happily ate pears, plums, parsnips and swede the other day lol. Xx

Carnat- what flavour is your sisters bean?! Been dying to know all day! Haha! X

LOL, I think girl too!

OH has two nieces but it's not quite the same iykwim? The oldest is 17 and I hardly know her.

I am dying for a little girl in the family.
