March 2012 Babies?

Problem is I am a midwife so I think too much knowledge can sometimes be the fall of people!! I am anxious, but enjoying all the little twinges I have had so far, you get a sense that baby is growing and things are all stretching about! xxx

Yeah it's my first!! :-) is it your first terri?? How are you feeling today?? I am generally ok, got woken up at 4.30am because I was on call and delivered a lovely little baby, but been so busy I haven't noticed any symptoms today yet, worrying me slightly!! Hope you're all good today :-) xxx

After having my first I have no idea how you do that job I shouted at my midwife cos she hurt my hip then kicked her in the stomach then ended up covered in blood from umbilical cord and she was still nice to me after. X

Going to the midwife on Wednesday to get booked in. Soooooooo excited. X

Wannabemummy, what an amazing job you have!! This is my 2nd. Have a son who's nearly 3 :)
I'm bit anxious as my first symptom with him was sore BBs but they're not even tender at mo!
I've spent whole day in hospital & at one point was being tested for a blood clot on my lung!! Turns out it's pleurisy, but they can't give me anti inflammatries because of wee sprog! Was a long, painful & emotional day, but everytime they mentioned sprog I couldn't help grin from ear to ear!!
Xxx

aw bless you that sounds like an awful day!!! :( I hope you feel better soon honey! So do you just have to put up with the pluerisy until it goes away or can they give you anything for it??

It is an amazing job and very rewarding! It feels even more amazing now that I will be going through it myself :) it's strange going into a room now with a lady though and thinking, now there are two pregnant women in here - one is MEEE!! It's great :)

xxx

Wow all those hormones in one room!!! I'm surprised you can hold your emotions all in :)
Already on painkillers & antibiotics, so just have to rest up & wait for the pleurisy to pass...
Having an early scan done this wk tho!!! Exciting!!! X

Ooohh fx for the scan my lovely!! You have to let us all know how it goes! Gonna try and wangle myself an early scan somehow (tricks of the trade!) lol. First month of pill and I didn't get a withdrawal bleed before I got pregnant so might get a dating scan at some point! :-) hoping to anyway! Aww well I really hope you start to feel better soon honey! xxxxx

hi all and welcome! congrats on your pregnancies!! Wannabmummy i think i want to be a midwife eventually! (when i grow up!) :) i've been with my sister for all her 4 births-so i think i could do it! :)

It's the most amazing job!! I couldn't have hoped for a better career and I get more and more passionate about it everyday! It's so rewarding and you feel so privileged to be a part of it! I would def recommend it to everyone! :) Although not so great when you're pregnant! Really notcied my sense of smell is heightened at the moment and every little thing is 10x worse than it should be! Just walking into a hospital at the moment is making me feel queasy!! xxxx

go be a doula, less training. when i went for my college interview to do nursing i got told that if anyone wanted to be a mw they would have to be really exceptional to get into uni right now as theres not enough places by far

In a way it's a good thing though, because it means that women who are seriously passionate about becoming a midwife and look after and care for women are given the places to become midwives. I have lots of friends who are trying to get into midwifery and do it year after year, but they get their place eventually and it males them appreciate the job so so much more and you do feel really lucky to be a part of it xxx

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all the yummy mummies out there who are expecting their babies in March 2012!! Hope every single one of you's have a happy and healthy 9 months.....very exciting times to come I'm sure!!!!!

Love Naoimh x x x

Hello ladies! Can I join this club too, pretty please.... :-)

I got my BFP 18th July and have calculated to be due 14 March 2012! This is my first and we had only just started trying so I am totally clueless as to what to expect!! I have been doing a ton of reading in the last week.

I am sooooooooooo excited and dying to tell someone but we are keeping it a secret and plan to tell our parents after Week 12. Such a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng time to go! LOL!

Hope all you ladies are keeping well!

Welcome K8_005 and Raxx! congrats on your BFP!!! hope you're doing well!
