***June 2019 Mummies***

When is your holiday Chrissi, how many weeks will you be? It would be a shame to cancel but I agree that if there is a chance of him coming early you don't want to risk it.

I’ll be a few days shy of 37 weeks coming home. So it’s going to be a pretty uncomfortable journey to and from. I think I was overly hopeful the other week that we may just be able to squeeze a holiday in together before he arrives, but if I’m going to be mahusive I don’t want to be squashed on a plane for 2.5 hours plus a coach for 1.5hours. And there’s the early travel up to the airport. The more I’m thinking about it the more it panicks me lol.

Evening ladies, I am pooped! I've not done a great deal today but yet still feel like I could sleep for a fortnight! Not that I could get comfy for that long, lucky if I get 30 mins at a time haha

Bump feels super low today and is killing my pubic bone area. Everyone has commented on how much its dropped. Mother inlaw reckons I'll be early. While I can't wait to meet her I'd rather she stay put a while longer, 7weeks is a touch too early.

I've not got anything ready, everything is still wrapped up! Baby clothes I'll start washing at the end of this month I think 4/5 weeks before due date is an acceptable time? Other stuff I'll probably do throughout May. I've still not really thought about my maternity bag yet. I've been pretty lapse with my organisation this time. I think I had my bag packed from 30 weeks onwards last time, and repacked it several times too haha.

Chrissi, have you all paid up for the holiday? Would you be refunded? I think on your position I'd probably cancel too. Its hard to know what to do isn't it. Because as much as they say he's measuring big the ultrasound aren't exact science when it comes to predicting babys weight. When I had my second baby my bump measured ahead and according to the ultrasound he was going to be chunky too. But he arrived 4 days late and was 8lb 6oz...which isn't massive when you consider my first was a 9lber lol

I’m with you on tiredness baby. Feel like I’m newly pregnant again!
My bump has always sat low, same with my daughter. I’m so jealous of the lovely high round bumps! Mine is low and egg shaped lol.

Do you feel she may be early? I was looking at pre term babies online and how ling they stay in hospital for. After 33/34 weeks most only need a few days and then they’re ready to go.
I’ve only paid the deposit. I’d rather loose £80 than the £900 odd it’s going to cost. My next appt is 2 days before the payment date so we’re going to go and if he’s still big we’re going to cancel.

My daughter was only 7.4lb. I was 8.2lb and baby’s dad was a 7lber.
I’ll be so gutted to cancel, but don’t want to loose money! It’s so hard to know what to do

A holiday sounds lovely Chrissi, but you're right, I think the actual logistics of it would all be a bit too much for me at this stage!
I've just spent £150 on Amazon for baby's bedding, toiletries and our newborn sling, so I think we've pretty much for everything we need now. Hubby is going to put up baby's wardrobe on the weekend so I think I'll start washing clothes after that. I don't like the idea of things being washed too early and feeling like I should really wash it again, but that doesn't cause me as much anxiety as her coming before I've got everything ready! I'm just going to make sure I have absolutely everything ready in case we bring her home after having the stitch removed and then if that doesn't happen there should only be a maximum of 3 weeks of having the Moses basket and Next2Me etc out before it's needed xx

Another night of basically no sleep. I went to bed at about 9 with a terrible migraine but was awake by 2 and couldn't get back to sleep. Its half 5 now and I've given up. I might try and have an early nap around lunchtime and hope it doesn't stop me sleeping tonight. My headache has got a bit better but I can feel it lingering just waiting to come back. I just can't sleep without DH and my back is agony no matter how I arrange the pillows. I don't know what I'll do when I have a baby and this becomes my life. I just can't function without sleep, I feel like I have flu. We are meant to go away at the weekend with some friends when DH gets back from his work trip but I'm sure I'll feel like a zombie. At least DH will probably feel just as bad with the jet lag so he won't want to stay up late either.

I've woken up with such sore back, shoulders and neck. Anyone know what I can use? I hear tiger balm isn't ok

Unicorn you sound like you have everything organised. When do you get your stitch removed? Is it quite likely she will arrive then?

I bet you’re glad everything has been pretty smooth unicorn. Especially after the worries in the first few weeks. I can’t believe how fast time is flying, some of you only have 6 weeks left!
A heat pack is ok abi as long as it’s not too hot. A warm bath is good too, although I find baths uncomfortable now as my belly doesn’t go under water

I think we’ve got nearly everything now. I bought some infacol yesterday to put away, maternity pads and breast pads.

Spoke to the midwife yesterday about combi feeding too. She said to start expressing from 37 weeks to help my supply, which may also help baby come slightly earlier so it'll be helpful if he is big, but also not a problem if he isn’t and he’ll still be term.

Getting awful rib ache when sitting for too long now. I don’t know where he’s going to grow into over the next few weeks! X

Chrissi I have heard good things about expressing before baby is here both to get the supply ready and also because my baby is meant to be big too. Do you have any advice? Are you using a pump?

Abi I feel your pain. I had a night of broken asleep and sore hips and legs... Today is going to be a long day :( I get so mardy without sleep, I really struggled accepting that when my kiddies where babies. And I'm dreading it this time too, just need to remind myself that it won't last forever and to nap when baby does. Lol

Chrissi, I swing between thinking she'll come early because of how low she is that day. To thinking she'll be late just because both my boys where late. I wouldn't mind her being a couple of weeks early, like any time after 38wks lol.

I think like you said, wait until your.next check and see what's happening then. If also ask the doctors for there advice/opinion on flying if he's so big. Least it'll give you a couple of days either way to decide before you pay the additional money. But I think for me I'd probably back out regardless. Could you not spend the money on a babymoon in the UK? Least if you went into labour a few towns over it wouldn't be too scary?

Unicorn sounds like you've got everything organised and ready to go. When do you have your stitch out? I think I'll wait a couple more weeks then start sorting baby stuff. It'll give me something to do when the kids are back at school lol

The midwife said to use an electric pump. But I managed to hand express quite a bit with my daughter a few days before birth. I will definitely store what I express though, as I need a good store ready!
My mum currently has a load of electric breast pumps sat unused at work as the nhs health visitors in my area are now council so they can’t take payment for the rental. I’m going to buy a Medela manual pump aswell for when I’m out and about as the hospital grade ones come on a huge carry case!

I don't even have milk to express! I thought my boobs would have grown by now and I'd have started to produce something but it doesn't look like anything is happening. Do I just slap a pump on and hope for the best?

I was talking to my sister inlaw about express feeding. She said she did it right from day 1. She said she would feed from the (L) breast, then swap to the (R) breast if needed... If not than she'd express from the (R) . If baby used both breasts she use to express from both boobs after the baby had finished feeding. Hope that makes sense?

But if you can build up a supply of milk before baby is born that would be even better!

Baby, we were discussing somewhere in uk last night. I might google the best nhs hospitals and go to that area LOL!

The hospital I had my daughter in though is fantastic apart from the after care though. It’s hard to find somewhere that doesn’t involve walking or spas. I love the steam rooms and saunas but they’re off limits.

It’s like a game of roulette waiting for these babies, I can’t wait til they’re all here now!

A little break would be lovely Chrissi or if it doesn’t work out could you go away later in the summer when baby’s here- that’s what we hoping to do.

I’ve got maximum 6 weeks left - my consultant said she may need to do my c/section a little earlier than usual - depending on baby’s size(I’m hoping it won’t be before 38 weeks). I’m starting to worry as still got few things to get for hospital and still need to order a pram as don’t know what we want- basically don’t want anything to heavy or flimsy and generally a lot of sorting still to do. You all seem really organised.

Pregnancy is generally kind at moment, I’m only up twice for the toilet during the night and just get occasionally backache in the evening, which is mainly due to baby’s position she still very high up under my ribs x

I’ve only got tiny boobs as it but mine haven’t grown much at all and aren’t leaking or anything yet. So no idea if they will towards the end or what. So at the moment I’m just planning on bottle feeding but I’ve heard the hospital will pressure me into breast feeding x

They shouldn't pressure you into doing anything Smcx. They might have a breastfeeding support worker come round to see you. Just kindly say thanks but no thanks. Xxx

I hope not, my friend who had a baby 3months ago at the hospital I’m under said they really do. I’m not sure if maybe it might be an age thing though seeing we’re young and first time mums.

So I’ve got a physio appointment for my spd but not til 14th of May. I got one of these bands though for the mean time to see if it helps, has anyone else used one? X

Haha we already have a trip booked to go camping at the end of August Caz, must be mad with a newborn!
My daughter is away with her dad when we’re booked to go in May, and we haven’t had a holiday together yet. So I’ll be gutted. Better safe than sorry though.

I highly recommend the kinderkraft bundles on precious little one.com it’s a fab set, looks similar to silver cross. Just don’t get the light grey as it’s a bit wishy washy.

Breast size doesn’t matter. I’m only a b cup now. And that is my boobs grown lol. After I breastfed my daughter my boobs disappeared, but I’ve only been a b cup at my biggest anyway and I had no problem with milk supply or feeding. If you don’t want to do it though, don’t feel pressurised or bad about it. Everyone is different and they shouldn’t judge you or make you feel crappy about it. Ignore snidy remarks from midwives etc, sometimes they’re the most insensitive people!

Yeah, I'm so relieved that everything has gone smoothly! They'll take the stitch out at 36/37 weeks so book me in at my next growth scan, which is in 2 weeks and they say she'll most likely come then! In some ways it would be great if she comes that day as we will be totally prepared with childcare etc but on the other hand I'm hoping she stays put a bit longer because I think hubby will be more likely to think it's safe to go for a third, whereas if it seems like it was only the stitch keeping her in I don't think he'll want to risk it! Also, obviously not a major consideration but I'd quite like her birthday to be a bit later as my goddaughter's birthday is at the end of May and she always has exams on her birthday! Xx

Oh, and last night was the first night I really struggled with hip pain, I could only get comfortable lying on my back, which obviously isn't ideal! I really sympathise with you ladies who have been struggling at night for a while now! It also wasn't helped by the fact that our little boy was up between 3 and 6 :???: xx

Hopefully Chrissi you do get little break before baby arrives.
Thanks- will have a look at that one -planning to go baby shopping on Saturday.

I’ve had 4 babies and never been pressured into breastfeeding, sometimes they might suggest after birth if you like to try putting baby on the breast but definitely no pressure x
