*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Been Mia again how's everyone doing? I've now officially finished work woohoo but maternity doesn't start until the 25th but last nights shifts dragged some what!

Lucy - Deffo not eating as much as I had been. Not so much appetite related but more about feeling fuller sooner. Gives me cramps if I try and eat too much. However I am sat here eating strawberry laces :) Never too full for sweets it seems.

Washed and packed everything for hospital bags today. Will be placing them both near the front door for easy grabbing. Not packing any bottles are really hoping to breast feed and not sure what I would pack anyways - What has every one else packed feeding wise?

xx

I have bought a pack of aptamil little ready made milks with the teats that screw on them. :)

Well I have been at pregnancy assessment tonight! Having constant Braxton hicks for a week now, baby doing ok. Head very low and they have confirmed I am having contractions. Had 3 in 15 minutes on the machine only up to about 50 on the monitor though. I very rarely have a break from them now!! Had a bit of blood while I was there on wiping but cervix is still closed thank god :) something is happening just slowly xx

Oh dear Charlie. Hope everything is ok. Could the BH be made worse by dehydration? 'They' do say they are more intense if you havent been drinking enough. Baby needs to stay in there a few more weeks yet.

I have started to notice silly little things getting harder. Like eating my dinner on my non existant lap and getting up from a low sofa. Not waddling yet tho so got that joy to come. X

Oh goodness Charlie! Did they say how long that's likely to go on for?x

Not dehydration, drank 5 pints of water today. They even done a bladder scan and I had fluid in my bladder. It can go on for weeks but they are much stronger today. Xx

They kept you in? Hope you dont have them for weeks Charlie... doesnt sound like fun. X

I've got the same thing as you Charlie, lots of tightenings and loosing plug. Had lots of fanny daggers too. Just never know how long these early stages will last. I'm sure the tightenings are just BH, not really doing anything, just having a practice ;)

Aww Charlie... if he can just stay in place just a bit longer. ..you are in the best place though. Keep us posted xx

Ahhhh too early Charlie! But I am the same as you and Buggy (tho not quite as bad), having quite intense BH regularly and tightenings and baby is sitting super low in my pelvis. Our bodies are ready to pop! Was at Tesco yday and had to stop every now and then as a tightening happened, took my breath away. I've not lost any plug yet tho!

3.5 days left at work for me :-o!!!

I've always had a fear of epidurals anyway. My sil had hers leaking and she has been getting bad headaches since. Apparently a 1 in 500 chance of it happening.

I have had patients with constantly leaking epidurals (not maternity patients!) they are quite tricky to get right and obvs only the anaesthetists are able to correct them. Such a shame, she did so well.

But so scared of tearing now! Is there any way we can avoid it? Like some kind of 'limbering up' exercise al la pre gym stretching?

Colettey - You must be so excited about starting mat leave! What are your plans?

Charlie - Hope nothing progresses any further for a while. Are you being kept in hospital?

xx

Pismo at my class they said when they get you to pant and stop pushing it's to try stop the tearing. The perineal massage for me is just too hard work lol..awkward too.

Off to google how to perform a perineal massage - glad I'm not doing this at work :) Will do anything to avoid a tear!

Pismo, like Lucy said, at my class they said tearing is generally down to us wanting to just push baby out and not waiting. Doesn't mean that you won't tear if you do wait however apparently they've seen a massive reduction in tears as women now understand to pant through and wait for midwife to say when to push.

I think my baby is lying transverse atm! I went to the loo in work and, glamorously, you can see everything in the mirror when you stand up . There is what looks like a ledge by my belly button and below that my bump is super floppy like there's nothing there where as left to right of my belly button it's rock hard. I'm hoping I am mistaken!! x

No I'm home thank god! I'm still in bed, I cannot keep my eyes open at the moment! So exhausted!! Xx

Googled it - Hmmmm, didn't think it would be like that. The pictures were helpful though  doubt I will be asking OH to do it for me.

xx

Charlie - Try and get some much needed sleep if you can. Are you still having constant BH?

Belfa - Was LO previously transverse or is this a new thing you noticed today? I'm guessing you haven't noticed a huge shifting movement that would confirm that he has gone and cheekily repositioned himself?
