*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Charlie- I just had the boots ones and started the day before my section and took them for about 3 days afterwards.

Also my advice for those having a section is to have some normal sanitary towels on hand as the maternity ones were too heavy duty after the first day. Big advantage of a section was that they sucked must of the blood out. Not everyone is that lucky but good to have ready as the maternity ones are not the most comfortable or practical. The maternity pads are however very useful once you have to put clothes back on to gently lay across your wound. Soaks up any liquid or sweat around during the wound and offers some much needed support. Was recommended to me by the senior midwife on the ward. Good luck girls. X

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better today. I did wake up feeling happy until...

My husband has really just upset me, yesterday we visited his grandma. At the home she is in, those places are stuffy and hot anyway and smell funny, I was quite uncomfortable and crampy and stood up as the 1 visitor chair is plasticky fabric so gets hot and not the comfiest of chairs anyway he just said don't pull that stunt again, I'm 39 and a half weeks pregnant ffs, I can't sit somewhere when I'm not comfy, he has really upset me when I woke up in a nice mood after a better sleep. his family don't get me anyway as don't get why I eat curry to bring on labour, they think it will give baby pooey nappies (I'm not gonna bottle feed curry to baby) and that I'll fall off my gym ball (do they think I'm doing acrobats on it), and keep hinting we should get rid of our cat, she will be fine and no we aren't, loads of people have babies and pets, not forgetting still not getting the who BF thing, sorry but weird if you ask me. Just wish people would realise don't upset a heavily pregnant woman.

Lucy- men are clueless and I can completely understand why you're upset. I would have had a go at him. Hope you feel better soon!

Baby scotcher- you're lucky! I bled heavy for 7/8weeks. Then was able to wear a sanitary towel for the next 3 weeks. (Yep...I had some type of blood for 11weeks) but it did get extremely light towards the end. But I know one other person who barely bled too.

Thanks, I'm currently bawling my eyes out as he thinks it's me in the wrong. Does he not realise don't upset a pregnant woman at this stage, I was so looking forward to the day ahead. :(

lucyboo hope your alright, men really don't think sometimes. If only they could really experience what pregnancy is like honestly, would be a whole different ball game. Don't let it ruin your day.

I do remember bleeding heavily for quite a while after my section, can't remember exactly how long but hopefully won't be too drastic.

Hope we get some more babies making appearances ️xx

Tasha/ bubblegum. I know some people still bleed quite heavily but worth being prepared as midwife said a lot of people don't after a section and I had only taken in maternity towels so had to get someone to grab some always night towels for me instead as were a lot more comfortable. I am still bleeding 2 weeks on but it has never been anything particularly significant and nearly finished. I have been very lucky on that front. X

Today I am eating pineapple, going for a walk, having a bath, walking up and down stairs and have warned hubby he might a rather big woman jump on him later haha!! No sign of this one being evicted yet!!

I might walk up the hill to shop for some pineapple later lol! The things we have to do eh?

Was at mat assessment for the first time last night as I had a lot of watery discharge over the last couple of days and was worried my waters were starting to trickle out. Was on the trace for an hour then got sent home. So still nothing!

I told him it was really bad timing to bring all this up. Being so upset Gave me a few tightenings and made me feel crampy, last thing I want is to go into labour because I'm upset. Think we have cleared the air though. Told him not to get me this upset again, especially while pregnant.

Anyway making a Thai green curry today, extra hot, pineapple for dessert, hopefully squeeze in a walk somewhere too.

Another one doing a walk and having spicy food today!

Was my dads 60th yday so was nice to be there and join in the fun - but weird cos I have assumed my whole pregnancy I would have baby by then. So am feeling a bit odd.

Fairly certain baby still isn't engaged. Is your baby engaged Karen? Your hospital run would have had me upset too. Is the ups and downs that drive me crazy. I think we might be both getting induced next weekend lol! Not happy at that thought at all... But no idea what I can do!

Lucy you are eating some amount of pineapple! Dedication!

People who are past their due dates - have you been given a date for induction yet or will ur midwifes book you in at ur next clinic appointments?

Hello ladies, checking in late with yous all. Past few days have been busy. Got home on thurs after having the little man on wed afternoon. To be honest my hospital experience has always been a bit negative, the wards are too busy with little staff so was glad to get home were i had more support and home comforts.

Baby is doing well, he loves his grub. I started bf but now having to combi feed as hes such a starvo and my nipples cant stick it! Im doing ok myself, managed to escape with just grazes down below but my god do they hurt. Was very swollen which is improving but finding sitting down and going to loo v painful. Other than that im enjoying my little mite, loving my baby cuddles.

Hope to see another baby boom in here soon, good luck!! x

Ahhh glad your home and enjoying baby cuddles!!

I'm feeling much better today! I've finished off the painting I had to do! Stripped all the couches and washed them all, scrubbed skirting boards, had car valeted, set up Moses basket in living room and just gonna brush and mop everywhere! Nesting nesting! Haha! I have had to take co-codemol though as doing all this has crippled me!!!

Gonna get out and go for lunch with OH soon, enjoy the sun while it's here!

Only my bedroom to scrub tomorrow then I can relax on Tuesday!! Gonna go safari park tomorrow with my sister too, take my mind off the section!

Think I'll pamper myself Tuesday, bit of tan and I need to tackle the shaving!! :-/ haha! Can't have my little boy meeting me in this state! Xx

Notes say 3/5 engaged, they said nice and secure, but also said uterus isn't doing anything so kinda getting used to idea of induction next Sunday, anything beforehand would be a bonus!!

Lol defo colettypie... This baby needs to come this week, there's a few family birthdays coming up and don't want to share any days with our LO.

HH glad you are home with your little man,

Charlie you sound busy, lol.. I guess as you know what day you are having him you can do stuff right until the day.

Karen, how come you had to wait so long for a sweep? If I haven't had baby by thurs (DD) I can have one then.

Still feeling bit emotional from earlier, think I just get frustrated as in always goes back to the in laws triggering everything, they feel the need to discuss everything we want to do like its abnormal and I'm in the wrong. ( latest one is I want to be out of hosp asap but even that isn't right, apparently I should be in at least a week) anyway going for a long walk now, try and walk off some of this emotion...

I was told ages ago that they offer sweeps at 8 days past and 10 days past due date and then induction at 12 days past. They like to give as long as poss here x

Well I've tried everything today, tears, hot Thai curry, a long walk, pineapple and told hubby we are DTD tonight. Lol.. When walking an hour ago I had a really sharp pain across my bump and thought this could be it... I couldn't walk for a moment and it lasted around 45 seconds but nothing since.grrrr, Getting on my ball again now.

Just been out with the in laws for a nice meal :) talking plans for Father's Day which will be lovely as our little boy will be 10 days old :)

Yeah in a way it's nice to know when he's arriving as I have no excuses for not being prepared!! Xx
