****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

Speaking of sids what do you ladies think of this? Apparently the lullaby trust has said that sleep pods are sids risk? I was going to buy a sleepy head type pod thing but now I'm not sure I should even bother because they're included in the list

What do you ladies think?

http://www.itv.com/news/2018-03-12/...o-new-parents-over-popular-sleeping-products/

Nonsense in my opinion...

They say ''[...] anything that wedges a baby in place do not conform to safer sleep guidelines''. Newborn is not going to move, roll, try to turn and the sleepy pods are not that small to 'wedge' a newborn/baby. The sides of sleepyhead are not high enough to cause restrictions in air supply. I mean... nonsense. I am still buying one x

Hi Ladies,

I know its been ages since I last posted but as some of you know it has been a stressful couple of weeks with a very worrying 20 week scan. Thanks to all of you who supported me!

Had a private scan yesterday to re-check the brain and specifically the Corpus Callosum ( which was a little short on the MRI I had done ) and I am so relieved to say it was perfect on scan yesterday so must have grown in the last 2 weeks and everything looks completely normal with the baby! So happy about that. As some of you know we are still unsure why Harmony test says boy and scans/mri confirms girl but we will need to check this when baby is born. The scan yesterday said it looks like a normal girl an no signs of any ambiguous genitals so that's a relief.

All in all I can breath again! xx

MI, I am so happy to hear this!! And that they can re-assure you and give some clarity now. I am positive your little girl will be absolutely healthy and beautiful! Fingers crossed for no more stress this pregnancy, you have had your share already!!! :hugs:

MariaIsabella Nice to see you back in here hun. Thats absolutely fabulous new about baby's brain! I'm so glad that all ended up being normal.

What a worrying few weeks you've had. Hopefully that means now you can start to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. And with the genetics appointment seeming to suggest the result of your harmony will not be from anything serious I have my fx for you and your little girl! xx

Morning,

Having very bad/weird dreams at the minute and last night I woke up in a hot sweat the Chinese Mafia killed my family and came after me..... I don’t think I want to sleep tonight.

Struggling with pains either side of my stomach every time I stretch or sneeze I’m guessing with little lady growing everything is stretching.

Today off to see my dad don’t see him too often but i have always been a daddy’s girl, so can’t wait to spend some time with him.

I loved my sensor mat, used it until she was 15m'ish. It did really help me sleep but even now I have to stand outside the door and listen for snores before I go to bed

I personally haven't used a sleep head type thing because of the risk but if you are right there in the living room then maybe they aren't too bad for day time sleeping

And I'm with you KHTW, my DD loves her farm set and the toys are always scattered about, my mum bought her a new dog kennel which included a tiny bone and little food ball and already I'm looking at it thinking I'll have to put it away once baby is rolling. I've also been naughty and binned some little bits that clip onto her playmobile people as they're tiny and I'm paranoid. Grapes are still quartered and blueberries halved. I also read the story about mini eggs in the news the other week and have banned them from my house even though husband loves them

Happy V-day ladies! Can't believe it's come around so quick! A couple of weeks for me yet.

MariaIsabella, glad everything seems fine with baby, that must be such a relief. Try to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy now!

I had the doctor today for my coccyx and that was a fat lot of good. Paracetamol and heat pads was all she said could be done. Wonderful.

They love the paracetamol soooo much that they tell you to take it for EVERYTHING!! I hope the pain goes away soon x

I will be watching OBEM tonight, there will be showing a dad fainting during labour haha :D

Sorry to hear that malagueta. Agree though...they tell you to take two paracetamol for anything. In labour? Take two paracetamol first  For my slipped disk tramadol and diazepam don't actually work so I feel your pain! Paracetamol may as well be smarties. Hopefully it's fast healing

We was at a family party abd me cousin has a 2 year old, he tried to give dd pizza lol which makrs me glad dd will be too young to do this sort of stuff. Then my 6 year old sister wad tryint to pkay legos with her. Crazy.
My mom was only 17 when it happened, i would be hysterical in that situatuion.
I dont knwo what a pod is? I just stixk to the moses basket and crib.

Haha I saw the clip of this! I'd be furious, I'm already considering not having my husband there

Ill watch on catch up tomorrow. I can't stay awake that late haha. Last night husband put match of the day on so I went to bed at 10 past 8

True it is a bit later on, I will probably watch on catch up too... may wait till Friday and watch with hubby, he secretly enjoys watching it. Last week he moaned when I played it and once the episode was finished he asked if there was another to watch... men :rotfl:

He was actually great during labour. He wasn't too much in my face but was there, not on the phone or anything. He is such a chatterbox tho, poor MW's ears were swollen by the time baby came. For some reason she was there all night, starting with braking my waters.

What about your OH makes you say you'd rather do it without him? x

I'd be furious haha. I'd go "just leave him" xx

haha how dares he steal the spotlight :D

I saw the clip too and I actually felt really sorry for the poor sod. Not like he did it on purpose but fuck me, he went down with a thump and looked like a bad head crack on the trolley..midwife was brilliant. Just left him there but called for help.

You've never been in labour before give it time lol. You'll not feel sorry for Dan if he passes out while you're pushing out his baby haha! Xx

Lmfao, ive just seen it on fb. Im having epi so id just piss myself laughing at my hubby if that happened ahaha.

You're right, Shan and KHTW. Paracetamol for bloody everything! Lol.

I love that the midwife just leaves the husband who's passed out there haha. I actually think my hubby will be OK in labour. I'm a bit more concerned that I'll be shouting and swearing in English while all the doctors and midwives only speak Spanish so hubby reckons he'll end up laughing lol.

Mariaisabella, such good news from that scan. Bless you...hope you can start to put the last few weeks behind you now and start to find enjoyment in your pregnancy again.

Shep...really hope you and DD feel better soon.

KH, it sounds like you have a plan that will hopefully work but I wish the sleep gods upon you...I don't know how you continue to function.

I've looked at the sleep pods and one of my friends swears by hers but I'm hoping to try something different that I've seen and really like the look of.

I'll put a link below and not going to get the actual cot due to it's cost and actually, as much as I like the idea of it, I'd prefer to be the one controlling the rocking. But, I LOVE the 5 second saddle that is part of it and available to buy separately. Plan is to basically sew some Velcro onto the wings also I can secure it to the later as in the next to me crib. Already got a white noise machine and Dan is going to change the frame on the crib to allow it to be rocked safely as I like the idea that it helps baby to self soothe. The reason I want to do the rocking myself though is that I don't want to rely on computerised settings to tell me when baby actually needs me. The cot goes through 4 cycles that increase in rocking strength and volume of white noise but shut off after 5 minutes if the crying continues so that mum can step in but I want to be the one in control of that. The saddle though, for the price, ease of use, range of sizes and ability to keep baby from rolling, definitely worth a try for me.
