****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

My boy tends to be awake in the day, so hoping the pattern sticks and he'll be a little angel with sleeping at night... Hahaha can only dream!!!
I haven't felt him much today or yesterday. Saturday I finally felt him further up in line with belly button and OH felt him kick up there too. After that I felt him low down and hardly any kicks now, literally felt 1 today.. When do we need to start keeping note of movements etc?

From 24 weeks here they'll see you for reduced movement xx

Great news about work Jem, I hope it lasts!! Fingers crossed for your sis tomorrow x

GG I am also looking forward to Vday, it is a relief thinking that baby would have decent chances of surviving x

Shep after what you descrived I think doing a sweep at 38 weeks is a good idea xx

At 24 weeks as said, you should start to keep a note of the pattern of movements. Chat to your midwife about it at your 24 week appointment. Xx

Happy V Day to Shanivy and GG

Life is just constant countdown once your pregnant. "Just a few more weeks until 12 weeks then the risks decrease" ..."nearly 24 weeks then baby can survive on the outside"...then you hit 24 weeks "every week you stay in you're bigger and stronger"...and then when they're born comes the one that caused me the most anxiety, the 2 year countdown of the risk of SIDS.

But yes Jem pay more attention to movement from 24 weeks. I'm 25 now though and my girl does not have any kind of regular pattern yet but I feel her lots at different times so I'm not worried. Currently she just seems a lot quieter than DD1

Hope your sisters app goes well today

Good morning ladies!!

Happy Vday to Shan and GG, this is a big milestone woohoo!

I must say my little lady moves a lot and I think we have a little pattern starting; I get kicks when going to bed and laying on my side, as well as everytime I turn from side to side or if I need to get up to pee and go back to bed, then she kicks for a little while longer. I get kicks after every meal or snack, so if I haven't felt her for a while I go and grab some food :D

I hope you ladies slept ok last night. DD is trying to exhaust me I think. She wakes up at least twice at night demanding cuddles. She insist to stick her face as close to mine as possible and after a while she falls asleep but of course it takes me ages. I adore this little creature but honestly I don't know how long I can cope like this. OH offered to take over and co-sleep with her but honestly when I hear her cry for mummy and I am not there I feel like the worst mother in the world! Even if she only cries for a few seconds until daddy wakes up and gives her a cuddle. I hope this is just a stage and she will soon start sleeping through! x

Happy vday ladies :)
My boy has no pattern lol. As long as a feel him a few times a day im not worried.

KHTW...is your daughter in her own room now? If so well done, she's probably just going through an adjustment phase

My DD used to wake for a cuddle or two until she was two and I loved it but it was tiring. My DD and I have come down with a cold :( I didn't sleep great due to my throat hurting and DD got me up to. She shouted she needed a wee at 3ish and so I nudged husband to take her. He was so grumpy with me about it but I'd already been up with her three times! I feel a bit bad though cos he leaves the house at 530 and has obviously done so in a grump this morning, his breakfast dishes are still out and he hasn't reboiled the kettle which is usually does for me getting up.. stroppy sh*t haha

Shep I hope you and DD lose the cold quick, nothing worst then being ill while your child is ill too! Forget hubby lol, such a man! Obviously he is overreacting, I bet he will be home for lunch feeling bad for not re-boiling the kettle x

DD had been in her room forever but always co-sleeping with me. Her big girls bed is up now but she's only been in it twice! After bedtime reading she jumps right on my sofa bed (in her room) and gets ready for sleep. When I ask her to go sleep in her own bed she just looks at me and says no. It's fine. I made my peace with the fact that she will be in my/our bed when baby comes but I really would love for her to sleep through! x

Ah I see I thought she came into your bed in your room. I guess it's all little steps with toddlers. Do you worry about the quality of sleep DD will get with a crying baby? Our room is right next door to DD1 and I worry she will get woken up

Yes I do!! The current plan is that OH will co-sleep with DD in her room and I will stay in our bedroom with the baby but the rooms are wall-to-wall and you can hear everything! If the baby is a crier (DD1 wasn't) I will consider moving downstairs for a bit. If I end up formula feeding, being downstairs would also mean being close to the kitchen x

Thanks can't believe it! Happy v day GG

Ivy is got picked up by her grandapsrent today again for nursery. She's in a great mood  had a complete breakdown, tears and everything because she couldn't clean the fireplace right at that minute. I mean...right.

Shepherdess oh no I hope your cold is fleeting for both of you! I am so done with winter bugs, colds and illnesses. Please give me a little warmth and sun. Lol OH gets up at 4 some weeks but I'd have been up already 3 times I'd have told him it was his turn too lol. His dishes would be left for him too haha.

I don't think I slept for the first month of ivys life worrying about SIDS. Little boy died here at 3 from it and I never forgot it. I think I may try one of those angelcare mat things that go under the baby's mattress? Xx

KHTW I hope it's a phase and you get some decent sleep soon. They can be so stubborn at 2. Definitely not a bad mummy letting OH take over every so often for you to get sleep but mum guilt is rubbish! xx

Jem fx for your sister today xx

Same for me DDs room is right next to mine. There are built in wardrobes between our wall but I leave my door open and DDs so I can hear her. I'm hoping she'll just sleep through the baby but I don't know?!
Xx

Lmao im going to have both of them in our room! Give me strength.

Oh goodness I never thought how a baby would react to another baby at night before! Xx

Shan my older sister stopped breathing the day she had her first vaccines, luckly my mom was living near bham childrens hosp at the time, she ran our the house and saw someine she knew riding a bike gave thw baby to him and told him to get her thier fast and she ran behind lol. She was fine obvs.

Shan, that mat saved my sanity!!! DD was sleeping on it until she was 18 months! This baby is going to sleep on it too. We have the one with sensor pad and camera so we could also see DD, I still use the camera now x

Yeah I hope she will soon ask me to get out of her bed and mean it (she says that now because of a book we read haha but she doesn't actually mean it cause as I proceed to leave she cries) x

OMG how scary!!! This was literally my worst nightmare, right next to her choking on milk or food. God... the worrying never stops. Now I will be worrying twice as much :roll:

Omg PB that's horrific!! Imagine if she'd just panicked instead of running outside at that moment. It's all so scary when they're new regardless of how many times we do it . xx

KH I actually forgot how obsessed with checking her breathing I was until now. I still do it. And the choking gets me too. Aw gosh I hope dd settles for you soon.Xx

I.e choking When Ivy was about 18months we were at a big family BBQ and someone left a big lucozade bottle lid off. She put it in her mouth and just happened to be walking past me in the garden when she did it. I literally grabbed it out of her the back of her throat a microsecond before it would have been pushing down too far. Terrifying. Still makes me sick thinking about it!

I'm definitely going to get a mat if you both had them and found them helpful

THIS!!!! This is the worst thing. You really have to have eyes on them all the time. And now with having 2nd... all the toys laying around, all the food DD carries about... this could all end up in DD2 mouth. I will have a head full of greys by the time they are adults!!!!!! :|
