I agree with meal plan etc. We always write a list of Sunday - Saturday meals and try to use up left over things in the cupboards etc to make meals. We always shop on a Saturday and tend to go round all the shops, Lidl, Aldi, Iceland and Tesco. Although this weekend we just went to Tesco for the whole shop and it was £40 more expensive than normal!! x

Tesco always more expensive for us aswell. I think asda do 20p veg at easter buy loads and make stuff with it.
For baby weve started adding stuff to our weekly shop, so its not a huge sum when we need it. Especially the nipple cream its like £10 and i went through a tube within 4 days!!

I'm not really into meal preping but I'm pretty good with my food shop and just buying what we'll eat. apart from when DD is being fussy we have very little food waste and I tend to but toiletries from poundstretcher

it's funny you say Tesco is more expensive, I'd love to try asda or Morrison's but we've only got Tesco within 30 miles of us. there is an aldi but I can't cope shopping in aldi, the service is so poor and the queues are just too big when I've got DD with me. my best friend shops there and leaves her two kids in the car with iPads and snacks (she knows how I feel about that so I try not to judge) but she says she only saves about £15. I did try and buy my fruit from aldi a few weeks ago as I spend I fortune on fruit but while I saved about £3 the raspberries and blackberries were so so sour I wouldn't buy them again and the satsumas weren't nice either. we're lucky though and have loads of raspberries/blackberries/goosberries grow in our fields at the right time of year so I do freeze some and I've just bought a red current and blueberry plant to. I might look to see if asda will deliver and give that a go to see if I save.

as for lasinoh I try and keep an eye on Amazon and stock up when it's on offer

Asda is definitely a best bet! They are so much cheaper and pretty sure they do deliveries

I had so much in my hospital bag last time I was so well prepared. gave birth at 2pm and then they kicked me out the next morning so I didn't need or even look at 3/4 of the stuff in my bag. I'll be packing light this time

As far as I'm aware, she hasn't had it yet and I don't want to ask (but I really do want to ask haha). I'm sure if it's a girl she will be straight on the phone lol x

Your friend is crazy lol! Why would you pack your bag at 20 weeks ?!?! I had 2 small bags last time, 1 for my and 1 for DD x

I was admitted with dd at 23/24 weeks cos they thought i was in labour. I packed mine at 26 weeks then.

Ohhhh God please stop lol. I'm so unorganised I'm starting to stress reading this!

I haven't even thought about my hospital bag yet. I literally put music, snacks, a fan, socks and everything in my hospital bag with DD. Got to 10cm at home, ambulance in, pushing as I got in the door. Had a nice little outfit for the birthing pool. Ended up rushing to get the pool filled and being half dragged into it between pushes. I gave birth in my bra and pj vest top, kickers and pj bottoms in a pile the corner. Dignified haha. Forgot about half the stuff in the bag lol.

I agree with most things here. I usually do Aldi & Asda but I've found lately Aldi is going up in price and down in quality. And Asda has quite a good deal going on with some of their meat. One of the only things I like right now is their turkey steaks in a bake in the bag type sauce. I'm trying to boost my iron too and turkey is one of the only things I can stomach right now. I also loose my shit with the staff in Aldi and their " speed targets" God help the staff member who gets me in a bad mood when they're chucking my stuff at me on that stupid little metal bit that fits one thing on. I'm like " No you can just stop until I pack all this thanks!!" I agree Shep customer service is awful. Glad you feel a bit better xx

God feels so long since I did this!!

Hospital will have pads too so you don't have to go nuts bringing them. And their ones are better so steal some lol. Just have lots in the house.

Buy cheap big knickers and take a pack with you. I brought black and white multipack granny knickers from asda in a bigger size that I could just bin. Those paper knickers are shit. You don't need loads of clothes as you may get signed out. I'd take a set of pjs, maybe an extra set of pjs just incase, If you're being kept in OH can bring more stuff up. Slippers and socks. Something for you hair like bobbles and clips. Oh and maternity notes eventually lol.

I cant remember if you wanted a water birth or not. But a long tshirt or something for that if you do. Though you'll probably strip off anyway especially in the summer lol. Could pack lanisoh although the chances are you'll be out pretty quick.. xx

To be honest I gave up on the cotton wool and just used sensitive wipes for dd. Up to you though. Nappy cream. A few muslins. Also most hospitals have blankets for baby so Id leave that if they do tbh

Charger and phone or camera for pics too. xx

nipple cream, moisturizer and lip balm are also good as the rooms are so dry. I took a flannel to just to refresh my face every now and again. my hospital didn't feed me properly so the few nut bars I took in were a lifesaver

I tried cotton wool and water but it was a pain so ill be taking water wipes. scratch mittens for baby. I took a power bank as our hospital didn't like you using their plugs. if you want to stay in 2/3 nights I'd recommend a few spare vests for you. I sweated horrendously for the first few weeks. I'd wake up to a soaking wet chest and back.

OH has a fear of cotton wool (dunno why) so I'm hoping not to use cotton wool so he can't get out of nappy changes haha

i dont know if this sounds bad or not but if you would like to breast feed do not take any formula at all. if there's a problem the hospital will provide you with some but generally don't take it with you. those first few days are tough and if you have formula there you're more tempted to give up and give them it.

at day 6 (obviously back at hlme) I was begging oh to go and buy me some but he refused and I'm so so glad he did

I'll be packing a little bag to take with me. Then I'll have a second bag with back ups at home that Dan can grab or my parents can bring in as they'll be at ours anyway to keep an eye on the dogs and horses. I'm very much a less is more person in this regard.

that's great, I'm glad she's happy. you said your dad's was a boy to right?
