****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

I still have my granny pants theyre so comfy, ahaha. But will use those again, i forgot them with dd, and hubby bought my normal ones!! My vagina waa so swollen i couldnt pull them up all the way i suggest a bigger size.
If your BF id take some nighties you can open at the front, much easier. And my going home outfit was pj bottoms that looked like joggers, and a top from hubbys cupboard lol.
I barely took enough baby grows cos i didnt think would be in there long... Im taking a summer sleeping bag this time, blanket had come off baby while i was asleep and some stupid dick opened the window in the middle of the night, woke up and i wqs froze dd was doing that thing when babies are cold. Even though it was August was a really windy wet night. Midwives were pissed about it to they had to gp wake everyone up to tell them to put blankets on babies.

i dont know if this sounds bad or not but if you would like to breast feed do not take any formula at all. if there's a problem the hospital will provide you with some but generally don't take it with you. those first few days are tough and if you have formula there you're more tempted to give up and give them it.

at day 6 (obviously back at hlme) I was begging oh to go and buy me some but he refused and I'm so so glad he did

Absolutely agree. It's so easy to get upset and go for the formula. They have ready made formula anyway. I did a lot of crying over this lol xx

I thought hospitals helped out with formula, but they dont. I wanted to give dd a bottle just to give my nipples a rest. So i said to the midwife and she got all funny with me, saying well ill have to go to tesco down the road and get the pre made bottlea because they dont provode it and they dont have the facilites to make up formula (bare in mind i couldnt even walk to the bathroom without passing out before my transfusion)

I'll be packing a little bag to take with me. Then I'll have a second bag with back ups at home that Dan can grab or my parents can bring in as they'll be at ours anyway to keep an eye on the dogs and horses. I'm very much a less is more person in this regard.

You don't need that much anyway hun. OH panicked and brought the car seat and everything in the ambulance with me haha xx

Wtf?! Mine do have formula. Dd had one bottle of it given by the midwife when I was expressing because I had to stop for 18 hours with the mess. It was a little premade one. Maybe each hospital differs but her attitude sounds like a joke! Xx

Maybe, but she said they only recommend breast at the hosp so dont offer anything. My nipples were bleeding. I didnt really get help with that either the woman next to me had a spcialist helping her. I was litrally just dumped and left.
My midwife checked my sitches and said i need to clean that area more.. I was like i havnt had a shower since birth. She was like well you need one before we send you home, i was being let out within yhe hour i said ill jisy have a bath when im home she said no. Plus its not like i could have had a shower if i wanted to stand up more than a couple mins id need my husband to help me cos i was so weak and iron was so low id pass out so what does she suggest going into a locked room by myself?

My hospital provided us with formula no bother. Gave us plenty of nappies (we had ours too) and me with plenty of pads!

I would say a big yes to granny pants and any stretchy, BLACK yoga pants!

Also second the comment re. snack, juice and other foods. And take a tablet or magazine too x

I meant meds not mess ugh!

That's so messed up I'd have been fuming. It's fine to recommend breastfeeding but with the mess you were in I think one bottle wouldn't have killed anyone.

And I'd second that statement she sounds like an complete asshole! I wasn't allowed to shower at first because I couldn't stand up or breathe properly but I was pretty insistent so they wheeled me in on a hospital chair and sat me in it lol. Some midwives you have to wonder how they got into the job in the first place Xx

My sister is having a boy btw - she said she's happier than she thought she would be. I'm very happy for her, be lovely to have 2 little boys x

that's great, I'm glad she's happy. you said your dad's was a boy to right?

You're getting a little nephew then :) perhaps you've got the girl of the family then lol xx

Haha she sent it quite well, she sent me a message saying #dickpic with a picture of the private parts lol. I said to her I feel quite concerned my nephew is sending me a dick pic hahaha. I'm very happy for her, think she's happy too - guess she just needed to know and can now deal with it :) x

PB you honestly sounded like you had a horrible experience with your 1st, bless you :( I hope it's all better for you with this one! xx

Mine were really strict with the pads and I swear literally the whole ward were stealing them and packing them in their bags lol. They were in little bundles near the bathrooms. I heard an older midwife ask one woman "how do you need another haven't you just changed your pad" Imagine saying that to someone who's just given birth ffs. I get they're probably stretched but if you need one you need one! Xx

That's great Jem! Hopefully she dials down the childishness now and you might be able to enjoy your pregnancies together. Bringing up two babies could be pretty special. Meant to ask how did work go ? Xx

My manager is being freakishly nice to me today. She was originally moving me downstairs on Wednesday but came up and said best to move me today (would have been best to move me last week stupid bitch). Anyway she is extremely nice and I feel like someone has warned her or said something to her to be more careful how she is treating me!

Shan we must be psychically in tune with each other haha, I just typed that post up and realised you asked about work at the same time!

Well that was weird lol. Whatever her reasons, at least that hopefully means work will be easier on you from now on. It's about time! Xx

Lol shan i asked for frozen pads, the only good thing i got out of them. I didnt bleed much after, suppose all came out striagjt away lol.
I couldnt even get breakfast cos was served at 8 and i couldnt walk, hubby wasnt allowed in till 9 so he had to bring me food. Lunch and tea was served during visiting so was fine.
Im giving birth in the same hospital, wish wed moved lol. Hopefully will only be in one day tho

my hospital only provide formula if you're not making a drop.

as for showering, they said to me the shower/bathroom was down the end of the hall and to just leave DD in the room. I couldn't bare to, I was sharing a room with a woman who spoke no English and honestly I was terrified. there was no way I'd leave her to shower. I left her once when bursting for a wee but that was all. they said I had to have had a bowel movement before I left so I lied as I wasn't leaving baby
