****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

P.s Fela I just realised reading baby is a girl I don't have your date down? Xx

To Laura and Jem - I’m so glad I’m not the only one still feeling a bit overwhelmed and like this isn’t real...obviously I’m over the moon and it definitely started feeling more real when we found out she was a girl but otherwise it’s been a strange feeling. I’ve not felt anything from the baby yet although we had a scan yesterday so I know everything is fine, I just feel overweight rather than like I have a bump... we got our pram and DH was loving putting it up and I just felt his huge sense of.... well like being on a runaway train where you aren’t sure where you’re going but you can’t get off... then you start thinking “wow I’m going to be rubbish at this......”

So yeah, I’m definitely feeling overwhelmed!

GG - we drove past your pub last weekend :) sadly couldn’t drop in but I mentioned it to DH as we passed!

I seem to be the only one in my family panicking! haha my husband and mum and brother are all super chill and I'm freaking out! like I have no idea what to do with a baby and its terrifying!

Spent the day shopping with my mum to put my mind at ease a bit. Got some bargains and we decided that the tutti bambini sidesleeper cot thing isn't for us so that's something crossed off the list. We are just going to go for a cot in our room and the moses basket with a stand downstairs. Now just to pick and buy the cot, the cot mattress, sheets and a stand for the moses basket haha jeez im exhausted thinking about it! Is anyone going for bumpers on the cot?

Ordered a new mattress and mattress protector for the moses basket yesterday so picking that up on the 7th and then today we got more bottles cuz I was feeling paranoid also bumped into a nice lady who has a 10 day old baby who was frantically buying bottles as she didnt have enough hahaha managed to get 6 tommee tippee closer to nature ones for £12. bargain! theyre all beautiful colours too!

Got a gro egg too in a sale for £16 and had it out already and plugged in, love it! I feel slightly better today as we got some more clothes and a wee toy dinosaur :D and a toy tractor cuz I married a farmer hahaha (in his own country) we want the child to know all about its indian granny and grandad and their land! xx

You may find newborn doesn't like being in a big cot as it doesn't feel secure for them. What we did was take the Moses basket up and down stairs and put it in the crib, so she could sleep in it all the time.
Don't forget if you use the cot to put babies feet at the very end of the crib x

Morning ladies.

Is it time to go back to bed yet? Lol

Good morning! I wish it was... DD woke up last night like a thousand times!

Off to her football now, than couple hours at the office and then my scan! :D

Laura where did you get the glo egg on offer to?? Such a good deal.

18 weeks today so happy :)

KHTW I'll be sure to try and keep a check on here to find out what you're having! An exciting day for you :)

It's our anniversary tomorrow so we've got a lovely weekend planned with a nice meal tonight at a steakhouse by the beach (don't like steak but I'm sure they'll do chicken haha)

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xx

I use a mesh bumper on the cot as I worry about arms and legs getting caught

sounds like you're getting pretty organised Laura. out of curiosity what do your in-laws farm?
I had to get organised after I had a day of melt down haha I don't know why but I'd panicked and then just had to get it done. Plus I seemed to have endless energy yesterday!

They farm rice through the summer and wheat. They also have buffalo which they sell the milk but I mean they've 3. It's not a huge operation and they're hand milked. I used to stroke their noses a lot hahaha xx

Same GG. I've bought some clothes now, nappies, wipes, new digital thermometer, bibs, muslins etc. Little things just. Picked my pram but not bought it, meant to get a few things in already but haven't yet. I'm not too bothered there's plenty of time. Way less stresssed than last time now

To Jem, Laura, Fela honestly you'll all be fine. Every ftm feels like this. Don't stress about any of it. Buy what you'd like but don't stress too much about the what ifs and reviews etc. Babies need very little in the beginning and anything you are unsure of or forget you can always get once they're here. The minute you see the baby you'll wonder what you were so worried about in the first place. Nobody can look after your baby better than you. Xx

KH good luck for tomorrow. I can't wait to know what baby is :pink: :blue: xx

Shep sounds like a lovely weekend planned enjoy!! Xx

Dd isn't too bad tonight tbh. Even managed some food so I'm hoping whatever it was wasn't an actual bug. I bought stuff in to bake the other day (told you how bad I am at baking it's literally rice crispy buns smarties cakes etc) and she asked could we do it tomorrow. She also has a weekend box left to do. So I have my fx my weekend is a little salvageable haha

Have a nice weekend girls!
Thanks shan :) I'm feeling a lot better after all the kind words and reassurances from you ladies and had a huge talk with my mum and husband where I told them how I've been feeling and they both laughed hysterically, said I was adorable and I ended up laughing too haha

I genuinely think that the weather influences my moods way too much. This whole winter I've felt awful. Then add pregnancy hormones I've cried at least 3 times per day if not more.

Today I woke up to a bright sunny summer-is-coming feeling day and I feel fantastic. Really glad our baby will be born in July. I think I'll be less at risk of post natal depression that way :(unfortunately after the past 2 years I'm at risk x

I got it in mother care! It's adorable. Smaller than I'd thought but mum wants to get the wee rubber cover to make it look like an owl rather than an egg hahah xx

Aw that's so great you feel better Laura. This winter has been crap so I'm sure it would interfere with your moods. My depression was always worse in the winter too. Add in hormones and first tri crap it's easy to bring yourself down over every little thing and just let the stress pile up.

Fx you'll be okay with pmd, you aren't in denial over your risk over having it. And even if you did get it, it's treatable and not the end of the world anyway hun. I can't wait for you to start getting to feel baby etc. Don't forget to enjoy your pregnancy because honestly once baby is out you'll miss being pregnant with them lol. Nobody gets to experience our babies like we do Have a nice weekend lovely xx

I agree with shanivy Laura its really good that you're aware and honest enough to know you're at risk. I think following my traumatic Labour Labour last time I suffered mild PND or PTSD but didn't speak up as I didn't really know what was wrong. this time I flagged up straight away that I suffer with anxiety now and could be at risk. the midwife has be great about it

my husband suffers with seasonal affective disorder, we'd been together a long time before we realised what it was, it's hard for him working on his own a lot in the cold and dark but now we make sure to have lots of days out and social activities which does help.

How exciting KHTW :)

Would also like to add that I too am panicking on the having no idea how to look after a baby, or what to get for baby. Doesn't help there is sooo much choice on everything.
Can't wait til we start buying stuff I may feel a little more relaxed then. Also can't wait til I can feel baby, although also worried that it might freak me out :wall2: Might actually feel pregnant though when I can feel some movement, currently just looking fat.

Anyway a lil piccie from scan on Thursday, no gender guesses as we are staying team yellow.
