****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

My scan is in 9 days omg! Do you guys think it's okay to take dd with us to this one? It's a 6 so easier to just take her.

We are taking DD, it would be a good opportunity to show her that there is a baby in mummy's tummy (I think). Since the scan is only like 10min it seems pointless organizing a sitter for her.

I can't believe we will know the gender so soon... crazy! From the beginning I was saying girl, girl, girl but lately my thinking has changed, is that weird? Now I am thinking it's a boy. Driving myslef crazy, I want to know NOW! :D

Shan, I won't be 2 weeks ... mine isn't for a month yet!! 21st Feb :( honestly feels so far away and I'll be 20+4 which is so annoying to know I could have it 4 days sooner if they just gave me an earlier appointment lol.

Consultant appointment Wednesday and then midwife on Thursday, got a busy week this week and can't wait to hear heartbeat!!

Had a dream last night that I felt the baby kick so hard, put my hand on my stomach and felt it again. Then put OH's hand there and he felt it! Only way I know that it isn't true is because OH said it didn't happen :( maybe I did feel it in my sleep or not, I don't know. But can't wait for that feeling.

Does anyone know when they need to have a look 'down there' .. I don't have a clue haha and just need to have my mind prepared and ready instead of it sprung on me. Is it not until labour? Or do they look beforehand?
xx

Jem hopefully it flies in. Mine is Feb 16th for my NHS scan. I'm just too impatient especially with the bleeding before.

Cute dream lol. Not long at all until you feel baby!

I never had an internal exam with Dd. Not until I was checked for dilation when I got to the hospital. (I was pushing so it was pretty fking obvious haha) Same for anyone I know in Dundee. Even my swab for thrush I did myself in the toilet and gave to the midwife. I don't think it's necessary anymore unless you need checked for a problem like bleeding etc. Or for a sweep xx

Oh that's okay then, I did think for what reason would they check me. But then I thought of GG and them saying she had a short cervix and wondered if that's something they picked up from before or from an exam?

I had an internal ultrasound on my early scan so I guess they'd have picked anything up then.

x

I think GG was because she'd had a procedure beforehand that they knew there could possibly be a problem. But there isn't usually a problem with your cervix anyway so I wouldn't stress about it.

Other areas may be different but that's something along the lines of what the midwife told me with dd when I asked did I need to be examined. That they didn't do it anymore if not necessary xx

Ah okay, it's all so new to me haha.

I also can't believe they leave things so long in between. I don't feel like I know anything about the pregnancy having only seen a midwife at 8 weeks and simply asked questions. I know I've had the scan but that also didn't really explain anything other than see the baby and give a due date.

Don't have a clue about anything else really, I know the facts of things but the rest of it I have no experience with. Feel like we're just left to it, and me being a massive worrier, isn't the best thing for me haha x

I'm taking my DD to. she'll be mesmerized I think. we've said we'll go out for a pub lunch afterwards and I'll take DD to next so she can buy baby an outfit

not sure where we'll go yet shanivy, Glencoe is my favourite place but it'll be too far with DD and a baby, maybe Loch Lomond, I love it there and it's only a two and a bit hour drive from me.

I had a sweep at 40 weeks so was checked then but that was it. I won't bother with a sweep this time I don't think it did anything

Sweep did nothing for me meh and was so uncomfortable! I am not going to be rushing in to get one this time... x

I wish we could go somewhere this summer but even the thought of packing up us, DD and the new baby and having to travel anywhere gives me a headache! 2019 yes but most definitely not this year lol x

I have a holiday booked for Cornwall in April, first holiday in a long time as never been able to afford one. Paid monthly £18 since the beginning of last year lol, hardly notice the payments going out and finally paid off :D

that'll be lovely Jemrose, a nice pre baby break. the farm is tying for us so we have very limited chances to get away so ill be hoping for some sunshine at home before baby comes
I've never been to Cornwall but I've been to Devon and along the south coast, is all lovely. I'd love to go to Cornwall some time

Lol jem make sure you stay near a toilet. We went to Blackpool for the weekend when I was 35/36 weeks. Went to the beach as soon as we got there needed the toilet, had to walk over an hour I nearly pissed myself.
I wanted to go away may/june but, we probably can't afford it this year with the new baby but hopefully next year and they can both enjoy it.
Been down in the dumps alot recently. Was gonna go docs for PND but couldn't get appointment. Might just wait till midwife appointment. Meh

I live in Devon, 15 mins from 4 different beaches. It is lovely in the Summer but chaos to get anywhere haha. Cornwall isn't too far (about 1 hour and a half drive) and my grandma was born and bred in Cornwall so it's always been a holiday of ours.

Honestly in Cornwall, sometimes it's like you're abroad! It always seems sunnier and hotter and it's so beautiful. Would definitely recommend it to anyone x

Aw PB, your hormones must be so different than the rest of ours having the just had a baby hormones and pregnancy hormones all in one. Can't imagine what it must be like for you!

With regards to down in the dumps, I'm the same though, and I'm starting to really worry about PND. I suffered with depression and anxiety for years and now I just sort of try and ignore it. But since being pregnant, it definitely feels more prominent, but I don't know if it is the depression or hormones or what. I don't like to say anything to health professionals as don't want anyone to think I'll be an unfit mother.

x

Sounds lovely Jem, will take a note of the place! x

Jem, BP sorry you are feeling crappy, I would talk to your MW, nobody is going to brand you an unfit mother because of that x

Oh missed this completely. I know it's a nightmare at that time too. We were going to take her to the 4d just but I booked this one at an awkward time so she'll have to come. I'm hopeing she will be able to see something that she can recognise as a baby. Ugh should have booked the dearer one with the 3d freeview !

Not weird at all. But I'm still honestly convinced I'm having a boy. I'm guessing youll have a girl lol. Same I just want to buy things!! xx

This is a pic I took in Newquay, April 2015. You wouldn't believe it's April!!

I normally go to a place called Perranporth (my grandma's birth town) which is close to Newquay x

Ivy is a big girl and there is no mistaking that moving object is a baby, it has a head, arms and legs lol :D I think she will enjoy the experience! If anything the 3d pic hardly looks like a baby and would possibly give her a scare lol (DD's was showing a massive hole on top of her head, it scare me!)

I really just want to know - don't care what it is. There is so much clothes to be organised upstairs that I just want it done and out of the way! And i want to know what color dummies to buy lol
