****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

I have no idea why that posted three times my internet is so dodgy this morning.

No idea what they were thinking Jem. I googled it though and they're safe for pregnancy, for viral and bacterial and sinus infections and for people who have a penicillin allergy so I'm wondering if wires have been crossed somehow when I was ill and told there was nothing they could give me? Xx

Yes, erythromycin is safe for pregnancy...it's what I have to have if I ever need as I'm allergic to penicillin. Not the point though, could have killed another person. My friends 5 week old baby was almost given warfarin along with the cocktail of drugs he was on to manage his heart as he arrested numerous times and did technically die from Wolf Parkinson White syndrome. The warfarin in a 5 week old unconscious baby on NICU would have killed him. It was only because his mum is a cardiac nurse that she recognised it and stopped it. It's bloody scary!

Shep, hope DD is still sleeping for you. I'm also a bit jealous of the fry up. Got a lot on today. Well...normally it would be nothing but I am feeling very pregnant now so Dad is coming up to help me move horses this Morning, then I need to clear out a stable, then the vet is coming and that is going to be awful. Luckily no put to sleep I Hope, but one of my horses has sarcoids, which is a form of skin tumour. Not malignant but can be very problematic and he has a cluster of them that have exploded in the last 10 days so I'm praying they can be banded or lasered off and not require proper surgery.

Wish this fucking cold would bugger off. I did get some sleep last night on the sofa though so feeling slightly better than yesterday morning.

I think this baby was in a funny position over the weekend as well as I also just felt turning, not kicking. It's making up for it now though, lol

Omg shan how bad is that! Are you going back to change them?

Ugh, that sounds bloody tedious. X

GG how weird we both have a penicillin allergy lol. That's an awful story it's really scary sometimes what falls through the cracks. Happy 26 weeks lovely, another week down. And we're in double digits now 98days! Xx

PB lol double check your bus before you jump on haha I hate the bus. Add a pram in and fuck me :wall: Good they're keeping an eye on you though with the clots hun. Woke up half on my stomach again this morning too, it hurts when I wake up like that but it still happens anyway xx

Went to the doctors and the receptionist got a doctor to come out and speak to me. At first she was like you asked for a prescription and that's yours. I'm like no I came for iron tablets. "Well that must be what you were given" I had to lose my temper a little. Ffs just get me a doctor! I was right, somehow after telling me he didn't feel he could give me anything for being ill with the sinus infection etc, the doctor found an antibiotic safe for pregnancy, penicillin and similar allergies, and asthma. He put it through but reception never called me to tell me!

He was very apologetic and I felt kind of bad since he said he'd called the hospital for a consultation and everything to find me something.. But still. I never take medication and don't know what anything is. The only reason I knew what iron is because I've had it before and used to give it out at work to almost everyone. There was another script there with my name on from the midwife from yesterday so if she'd just have checked...but anyway sorted now

Shep if it's only that then they're just coded like the other ones so,
: yellow : or : pink : or : blue :

without the spaces in between like : roll : is  without the space if that makes sense :) xx

KHTW oh god get your feet up and some rest hun, and an early night sounds like a hell of a day! Xx

Laura holy crap glad you and baby are okay! Stupid midwives should have never just said ligament pain then if it was a chance it could be your fibroid! I'm sure it was so worrying. Try the rest if you can and fx the painkillers make a difference! Oh and sorry I don't know what the fuck I was talking about earlier I swear I read you had dentist appointment! I'm going on about wisdom teeth ffs  Xx

I did read that and wonder if another Laura had joined, I've not been fully keeping up with all the posts so I thought maybe it was someone else haha my teeth seem fine tho hahahaha

I'm really relieved that she is okay, the midwife worried the heck out of me too- she was using this prehistoric device to listen to heartbeat and apparently its not very sensitive so needs to be literally over the babys chest or doesn't pick anything up! Would have been great if she told me that before starting cuz she was searching all over my stomach with this serious looking concentration face and there was no audible heartbeat for a good 3 to 4 minutes and I was having a heart attack I swear. I was also wondering if there was no heartbeat who the hell was kicking me from the inside hahaha xx

Oh Laura that sounds horrific! Hope you're getting some rest now. Could you ask to get signed off work? If you're in agony surely you can't be expected to go in to work.

Welcome back KHTW. You'll need another holiday to recover from this one!

I am feeling a bit better with the painkillers but I am only allowed them for a few days because the codeine is addictive apparently haha so I have no idea what I will do after that. Trying to get through on the phones just now to the health centre- I swear they need like 5 more phone lines cuz you can never get through. Hoping they can give me a sick line but I've already had one so I'm worried they'll be like "AGAIN??" haha xx

Just checked my prescription and it's 2 tablets 4x a day not 3x...surely that's a little much?

Edit Just rechecked the label. They've given me erythromycin tablets at the doctors. Which apparently is an antibiotic so I've been given somebody else's prescription written out in my name or something. Good job I didn't know what iron tablets look like and start popping them 4x a day thinking that's what they were

omg thats ridiculous! Some poor person is maybe popping iron like no tomorrow somewhere!

Can I join the penicillin allergy club lol? Shan I guess the silver line here is that they found something you can have if you catch another infrction... (touch wood you don't!). x

Laura, how are you feeling today? Is there anything that will make this pain more manageable straight away? x

BP good luck on your bus journey. An hour is a loooong time to travel, hope it passes quickly for you x

Shep and GG, fingers crossed your colds go away soon. I can relate.... DD has kindly given me hers. I feel awful.

Happy 26 weeks ladies!!!! Double digits for me too wooohooooo!!!

I am feeling a little better, been resting and my husband has been great, bless him haha he's been force-feeding me drinks though after they said I was dehydrated haha I swear if I am not drinking 24/7 he yells at me hahaha the minute one glass is finished its immediately refilled and placed in my hand again! He's going to overhydrate me at this rate :):)

The co-codamol has definitely made a difference but Im just concerned about what happens after I stop taking it..I mean technically nothing else has changed so surely it'll just hurt like a beast again after I stop. Just got to take it easy haha its so bad cuz im so impatient and restless. Hubby has the week off work and we had all kinds of plans like going to the city to make his provisional driving licence application in person so he would have it super soon and we don't have to send off his residence permit in the post (far too scared itll get lost) but I'm definitely not in any condition to be driving :( we also need to do a passport renewal for him xx

Being in pain sucks, Laura. But I hope that perhaps once you stop taking meds the pain won't be so bad. We have to have hope! Rest a lot and don't travel anywhere. Could hubby take a bus to town? PS. it is super sweet of him to keep you hydrated lol x

Scary isn't it!

Shan...I said to Dan on Monday that we were 100 days away and his face went white bless him, lol.

I'm trying really hard to rest enough to enable me to work tonight. Baby is being very active today.

Laura.. might be worth telling hubby that there's such a thing as too much water! It can actually be fatal...I can't remember the medical term lol.

PB haha serves you right for having a subway because now I'm dying for one since you've put it in my head! Lol. I like the meatball one but never eat it if there's loads of people in becuase I swear I get it everywhere :/ No not hereditary (that I've heard of) to have a penicillin allergy just very fucking unlucky because it's a nightmare for me xx

Laura oh they can definitely be addictive. I used to get them when I was younger for tonsillitis. I had anxiety attacks that used to give me fake heart attack symptoms so I started taking the dissolvable to make me feel better and I got addicted. I'm sure you'll be fine though. If you're still in pain they'll have to give you something else. Fx hun. Hubby sounds very sweet haha xx

KHTW yes freaking out here too!! Omg tri 3 how? Haha yeah finally found an antibiotic but god I hope I don't need one for the rest of this pregnancy lol. Hope you've recovered from your holiday! Xx

Fucks sake woman, we might as well be twins. Tonsilitis plagued me as a kid. It was a nasty bout of it in Texas about 15 years ago when I found out I had developed a penicillin allergy. I was given IV Amoxycillin and sent home. Luckily I was staying with a friend who had a monster truck. It was lucky because I swelled up like a balloon on the main road outside the hospital. He just turned the truck, drove up over the central barrier and rushed me back in. Almost killed me it happened so quickly. However, I now get erythromycin or naproxen. Both give me awful side effects so I won't take them unless I'm really desperate.
