I know I shouldn't yet as im only 36+1 but I want this baby to come out now! I'm really lucky as both oft pregnancies have been easy but since 34w this time he's been partly engaged and I'm getting back ache, hip ache and aches in my pelvis particularly in the evenings. I just can't imagine this going on for another six weeks possibly whilst bump grows even more! I already feel huge. Sorry for the rant!!!! x

Do you reckon they'd use it? I've heard you should avoid castor oil as its too strong a diuretic (or however you spell it) xx

Sammy, ignore her. You need to keep your strength up and sleep as well as you can tonight. She jut sounds selfish and immature and you don't need someone like that in your life. She has plenty of time as you say.
Enjoy your time right now. Xxxx

Nightmare. Sorry to hear this. My dishwasher has just broken too! Typical!!

Just been reading about castor oil and personally I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. It makes your uterus contract but id your cervix isn't ready to dilate then it can cause baby to go into distress. Sounds like its only recommended if you are already in the early stages ie 1-2cm and want to kick start things but even then it causes diarrhea and vomiting and that means mum can be dehydrated when you need energy for labour x

How does this work?

It's supposed to stimulate uterine contractions and can bring them on quite quickly and so they are strong. However, I've also heard that whilst it does this it doesn't always mean the cervix dilates with these contractions so your bodies not ready. I suppose it probably works fine for some but not for others. I think t also works by irritating your bowels so you can become dehydrated xx

Doesn't sound great then. Maybe staying natural is better for the time being. As you say prob works fine for some people. Thank you for the info. x

True. My OH said the same about the moxibustion I did to turn baby. He said that baby would have prob turned anyway. Will never know! As long as it works!

Thanks guys, I'm sure tomorrow I won't even think of her!

As we share the same EDD I completely understand where you're coming from, 40 weeks is such a long time and with the potential to go over, argh. I do have a feeling a lot of December mummies will be popping early though!

I remember reading someone on here who had caster oil and they went into labour that day, can't remember who it was but they had their bubs quite a lot earlier than they should have. As tempting as it is I wouldn't risk it, although there must be some people who take caster oil not realising.
