How come sweeps vary so much from place to place? X

Yea it's weird . I thought you had them around the time of your due date and not over due?? I guarantee because I'm having it on the 21st I'll be having her Xmas eve of Xmas day! Xx

Induction also varies. My hospital is 40 + 10 but the one down the road is 40 + 12. I don't have any sweeps booked, but ill continue to see my midwife every 2 weeks so I assume ill get offered one at 40 + 1 which is when my appointment would fall.

Inductions here are routinely plus 14 days. Mine will be consultant advised so before that, I should find out weds unless things change. In for monitoring tomorrow and Monday too. Tomorrow is due to baby's heart beat now being too high

I'm not engaged at all. It's not unusual not to be engaged until the week of labour: anytime from 36 weeks.

Oh and I just demolished dominos pizza, 14 chicken wings and garlic bread. Ice cream to go.

My MW didn't tell me at my 36 week appt how engaged I am.. I can feel her wriggling around in my pubic bone area though so hopefully she is engaged somewhat! I'm not sure what the policy is in England, or maybe it varies from hospital to hospital, but in Cardiff you can request a stretch and sweep before due date as a maternal right... This policy only changed here about 6 months ago apparently so I guess I'm pregnant at the right time! At my 36 week appt, I had a different MW again and requested a S&S at 38 weeks.. so she wrote in my noted to discuss with my normal mw at my next appt, when I'll actually be 37 +3, so will push for a sweep at 38 weeks if it's favourable!

Does engagement mean things are going to happen any sooner with first time mums? Or can they stay engaged for a few weeks?

I think it varies from city to city Klferrin. We can't request one though which is different I think (at least not in Sheffield).

When LO hiccups they are very low down in my pubic bone area but I don't know if that means engagement or not x

Bubs can stay engaged for a few weeks apparently.. Just means were in the right position for labour. I bet you any money that I'm still waiting in January. My MW didn't mention a sweep today.. May ask her next eek if she can try and give me one not sure what my local areas policies are xx

Does anyone else have the huge feeling of responsibility? I feel I have to do everything right because if anything happens to baby it will be my fault. So the fact that baby is breech means I am trying everything and feeling guilty if I spend any amount of time just sat on the sofa! I should be on my ball or doing exercise! I know this isn't a healthy way to think but I am! Anyone feel like this or am I being totally unreasonable with myself?
