I know what you mean Sophs, it's a world of confusion and I'm just guessing we'll know eventually at some point??! Do most people lose their red/pink plug first? And do waters tend to go later on? X
A lot of people I spoke to didn't even notice their plug going? So iv stopped looking. Not sure about waters but I think both can happen at anytime , no perticular order x
I think both are a good indication that you are either in labour or it's imminent. That said I've watched lots of OBEM where the plug and waters came when they were in hospital. I guess everyone is different!
Going to have my nightly bath with lush bath bomb and reeeeeelax xxx
Oh all this anticipation! Just been on the phone to my mum and explained how in Sheffield they leave you to 13 days past dd and she's decided I should move in with her in Leeds over Xmas and she'll ask her mw friend to get me in at Leeds...erm I don't think it works like that mum!! She's barmy anyway lol x
Newbie I am having the same pains, it started whilst walking and standing but now its just even sitting or lying. It is really painful.
I watched OBEM Christmas edition on 4od (thought this could very well be me) and thought the same thing, they are always in proper early but maybe theyv already signed up to the programme and that's why they go early ? Cause evry MW I speak to seems keen to leave you at home as long as poss LOL!
Me too!! 40 min drive and that's a clear run :/ also they don't grit our roads and I'm in the sticks . Hopefully itll be mid morning when I need to go in. That would be perfect! x
Yep, if it's rush hour I'm looking at 1hour ish and that's not including FIL coming across the city to get me...mid morning or early hours sounds the most ideal!
Russell, hope they ease soon so you can sleep xx
I think thy must sign up in advance and get told to go in earlier for OBEM
Mine I just felt a lot of pressure under my bump and couldn't get comfy anywhere either sitting on sofa or ball or bean bag. Then I had bath and had on/off pain but thought it was bh. They were regular though which is why i rang hospital and they said go in. This carried on on way to hospital but by the time I was there I was leaning over things, rocking and breathing through each one so in hindsight they were obviously contractions! I asked the mw at the hospital if I should get my hubby there as he was one stag do and she said I would if I was you because you are having this baby tonight!
It all sounds very quick Hun. Do you think she'd have been so quick if she wasn't prem? As I'm guessing they would have said stay at home if you were 37w? X
Soph, its not just the gritters we have to worry about booking into the southern, if the tunnel closes or jams we are fuuuuuucked. Unless you go the uber long town way.
I had to miss work on a couple occasions over xmas last year as couldn't get through the tunnel and into the hospital. And yet, they are making it a super campus and moving yorkhill there. Ridiculous if you ask me but hey, they pay my wages and mat leave haha xxxxx

My consultant did say prem labours are often quicker so maybe they would have made me stay at home if I'd been past 37w. I'm going in ASAP this time though as I do not want him on the way there! x
Hi ladies
Just back from another 2 hour breastfeeding nct class. Nearly didn't make it as oh and I had a row and I got myself in such a state I could hardly breath. My bump has been v tight and painful since. Hope I haven't caused any problems by getting so worked up. Think oh and I need time to relax together!
Interesting reading about starts of labour. I always wonder whether I will know if I'm in labour.
Sammy, lovely to have you back! Can't wait for pictures!!
Russell I know. I keep worrying about that, why is there always something going on with that stupid tunnel!!? I was told at Xmas nothing happens but that's obviously wrong xx
