*****August 2014 Mummies*****

I would ring and ask if in any doubt.

Really intense pain down there to the point where my hips hurt so much I couldn't move! Had to sit on birthing ball just to get comfy. Hoping this might be the start as I haven't had them this bad, just waiting for an obvious sign like waters or plug or even some contractions would be a good start

I rang and she said I could have a swab but wouldn't be back until tuesday n I'm in on Tuesday for induction. She wasn't worried. If I got worried I could always call back and go in.

Glad u called hun- hope its pit your mind at rest a bit x

Mrsm- hope u get a clear sign soon xx

Freddie George is here. Born at 17.17 weighing 8lb 6. No induction in end. But ended up with a spinal block, been cut and forceps. All healthy tho and that's the main thing. Love my little man will update more soon. Hope your all ok x

congratulations afield.
wishing you a speedy recovery - welcome to the world, baby freddie!
x

Hello, sorry long time no post baby Orla was born on the 20th august at 08.27 but emergency section after 16 hours active labour! It was hell but well worth it.... She is perfect I am blind with tiredness!!! Any tips for getting baby O to sleep in her crib as she will only sleep on me or daddy at night, not that I mind and appreciate she is very new and this will come in time but as a first time mum I wondered if people had tips?!

Hope you're all well x x x

When she falls asleep put her in the crib as softly as you can?? Other that not a clue.

No other signs, disappeared after 3/4 hours :-(

I used to put mine in her bed just as she was starting to does off and then would stay with her, my hand in with her until she fell asleep. Eventually, I could back away while she dozed and didn't need to be there...just put her in a quietly walk away. Took time though.

Sorry tho hear things slowed down MrsM.
Congrats AField :) and anyone I've missed out the last few days.

Looks like induction is going to be for us this time around. Booked in tomorrow at 8:30 am - consultant wasn't happy about going more than a week overdue considering we are trying for a vbac and I'm already at increased risk of needing another c-section. Have a feeling I'm going to be on pins and needles all day.

Massive congrats afield and Camilla! Wishing u both a speedy recovery xx

Sprk- there is still time hun! Keeping everything crossed for u hun xx

Congrats Camilla. We had the same problem with our first...we let him sleep on us which made sure we didn't get much sleep for 18 months. Had to co sleep in the end then it was a complete nightmare getting him out. This time round we put our little girl down in her bed when she's awake & happy so she gets used to her bed, when she falls asleep in the day we put her down & at night I make sure it's all quiet & dark so she gets the hint, put a hot water bottle in her bed with cover over then put her into bed when she's in her deep sleep (past the REM stage) and she sleeps for a good 4-5 hours then wakes for a feed & I just do the same & she goes back in bed. Hope you get it sorted!! Xx

Obviously we take the hot water bottle out before she goes in & make sure it's not too hot lol xx

Camilla- we r having the same issue- v common! We just try to put him down once he is in a deep enough sleep and give him time in the moses basket in the day too. We aren't always successful but he is 10 days old and u can't sleep train at that age!! He comes into bed for a feed and when he's done I try to pop him back in the Moses basket but for all our sanity we do co sleep sometimes! I'm planning on phasing that out as he gets happier with the Moses basket if i can! He's already improved in the last week. They r so tiny and dependent it must b so hard for them to feel safe and secure away from us! U do what works for u guys hun- there's no right or wrong and she will get there in the end xxx

Been so exciting in here last few weeks. How many ladies are still waiting on their little bundles of joy?

Hope you get your baby soon MrsM and good luck with induction tomorrow Sprk.

No signs of anything happening here, though every time the wife gets any new type or intensity of pain i'm googling 'what does a contraction feel like'

I'm the same, been trying not to read too much but then I get really intense pain and think ooo this could be it and then it disappears again :-( sick of waiting, get the feeling she's not going to come by herself and will come after sweep on Tuesday

Wife has a sweep on Thursday at exactly 40 weeks. Well she has the option of a sweep.

She isn't really frustrated or anything yet, just enjoying being off work and having house all gutted and nursery finished. Think the frustration will start if and when the due date passes.

Thanks alan :)

Like MrsM I've been getting lots of intense pains (especially today), but they just aren't regular enough. Two nights ago they were 4-5 minutes apart for about 4 hours....then nothing :/ Today they've been about 6 minutes apart with the occasional hour 'off'.

I'll be 40+4 at sweep. It's been nice getting house ready but definitely ready to meet baby now, nothing is comfortable anymore especially sleeping!
