Re: movements.....I was about 16-17 weeks with my first when I started feeling something.....hopefully it will come soon xxx

Doh should have read back over posts as lottielou asked same thing! Yeah think waiting to see how I feel on day will best. If we find out I don't want people to know but don't think I'll be able to keep such a big secret.

Leesey, I know ... It's just rubbish to be sick at this stage in the game grrr I think you have a big bump though

It's gone down again, just a blub of fat again. I'm thinking I may have an anterior placenta as I don't feel any front movement but I got a kick in the cervix last night which took me by surprise!

Would an anterior placenta make the bump change shape? Like it's kind of nothing there but fat now, whereas before it was looking bump shaped ish!! xx

I really don't know hun? Maybe it was more fluid retention or position baby was in? No idea whether placenta position would change it! I'm sure before long you'll have a beautiful round bump again xx

Arrrrrrgh got my doppler! Whoooooop. I heard babys heartbeat. Took a little while and i could hear a fair amount of swishing first but i actually heard it. . Im totally excited!! Its amazing!

Mum2b. Thats good to know wether you want to know the gender anyway my hubby said nah we shouldnt find out. . . I was a bit gutted ha as i like to know i think.

I am 101% sure of finding out the sex just could not not do it really, I found out both times before and it was great, I can't wait to find out so can clear out my kids cupboards and keep any cute boys or girls clothes for new baby as well as any toys they will have grown out of.

I am on countdown to my scan... 6 sleeps to go and we'll know if boy or girl !!!!!

Leesey, I haven't heard about an anterior placenta changing the shape of your bump, not sure?!
Although it can soften movements as you describe so you might have one :/
Not long til your 20 week scan and you can find out

Lottielou really pleased you got to hear bubs it is a wonderful sound isn't it? Really reassuring, does your oh know yet?

Mum2b, I agree that having baby on time is a good start, I would quite like that too

Evening ladies. Happy have a fab time in Paris, v jealous.

Stopped off at h&m on regent street on way to hotel tonight, got some good maternity work clothes. I had to do a press conference for work this afternoon with men in suits and a chap from fire service in his uniform, I felt a right scruff in comparison. Hopefully look better tomorrow!

Off to nandos for tea again tonight, thankfully my friend from work is coming with me, so I'm not Billy no mates tonight!

Hi girls, sorry I've went a bit awol, crazy busy with work but now on holiday for a week yay!
Welcome Ljb and congrats!
I'm really not a fan of H&M but was very surprised at their maternity section- love it! Think i'v spent more in there this month than ever before in my life

I have my nuchal translucency scan tomorrow to get measurements, bloods are already away (last Mon). Will I get an immediate answer? I know it doesn't give certainty but I'm just curious.
My spd/pgp or whatever this May be seems to be getting worse, fx'd for a physio appt soon

I think u will still have to wait for your result hun coz its the bloods combined with the measurement that gives the calculated risk factor. They can tell u what the measurement is tho and I think between 1-3mm is considered normal. Good luck hun xx

Hi all sorry its been a while, been so busy!!!
Had quite a tough few weeks. Had thrush, then a UTI, plus been getting a bit of spotting too. I feel like I'm constantly bugging the doctor/midwife for advice and reassurance right now. On a positive been feeling little flutters and popping for the last few days, maybes its bubs way of telling me all is good! I have my 16 week apt on Friday, so hopefully get to the heartbeat.

Yes yes i did cough to my hubby about the doppler. I was so excited and he really loved it when i finally found the hb lol.

But he said now ive got that no finding out the sex for sure . .

I would like to find out so i can sort clothes etc like you mummy midwife. Just do.t want to tell everyone else. Does that sound like a stupid idea! ? Hubby might slip up and let it out ha xxxx

I work for the environment agency in their flood department, so doing lots of shifts in our London office at the mo' to work on the floods hence the hotels. Miss being at home, but hopefully quieten down next week.
