Well ladies looks like I could be on my own for a week to 4 week hubby has been called up for the floods don't you just love the armed forces!! :( xx

Oh Zoe, it sucks to be on your own :( lots of keeping busy and maybe some shopping? Coffees with friends ?
I don't know how you brave ladies cope with the distance, if my DH goes way with work for a few days I miss him so much it's unbelievable so my hat off to you.

Hopefully he will be back sooner than expected xxxx

Thanks mummy_midwife there aren't many understanding people over things like this!
most people say 'well you knew you were marrying a soldier!' And that just pisses me off I fell in love with the man not his job.
I love him and support his career and I even stayed up to make sure he had enough clean, dry clothes to pack before he went this morning! I know people are loosing there homes and they are doing an amazing job trying to help everyone but doesn't mean that I don't miss him when he's not home and it's not hard for me!
In the 14 months we have lived in this quarter he has spent 4 months here! :(
Hoping for them to come home earlier but the rain isn't backing off down here at all can see if being a short one x and we are suppose to move over next 3-4 weeks he might not even be here and now I have to sort everything out :( stressed!

Sorry about the rant guys I'm just not In right frame of mind today xx

feel silly after everything mum2b went through last night but I am so glad everything worked out For you Hun can't imagine how frightening it must have been xx

Zoe, in the area we live there are 2 barracks and most of the army parents choose the school we chose for our children... They say it is because it is a traditional and catholic school...
So I see first hand how difficult it is for the families when the men are away. The fact they are doing their job doesn't take away the heartache of missing them when they are away.
I am very close to some of mums there and I have shed a few tears with them as I think it is so hard for them. But one thing they do say is that after having children the community around them was even more fantastic and they always help each other cope with play dates etc.
As hard as it must be for you right now try busying yourself , have a plan to go out the house every day even if is just a walk round the block or going to Starbucks for a hot chocolate :)
I stopped working at 13 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby and although DH would come home every night the days were so long, but I look back and I cherish that time that I was full of hopes and dreams for us as a family of three, buying baby things, having the time to read a book or do your housework without thinking about it... It was very good to have that time to myself before the lovely chaos of having a baby and your life does change so much once baby arrives.

Don't know if I am helping but just hoping you can see through the next wee while and that DH will be back soon xxx

Hey! Sorry for the recent absence.., been feeling a bit crapoy recently. How are we all? What have I missed? Bought a Doppler which came today. Had a quick play about in work but couldn't hear anything. Will try again at home later. X

Zoe- don't b silly hun! Comparing problems isn't worth it......I am full of admiration for wives and partners of those in the forces coz I know I couldn't do it!..... Its hard enough being pregnant without your hubby been sent away at a moments notice and especially with the move coming up! This weather is just getting ridiculous.....I really hope it all eases up so he can get back to u soon! *hugs* xxx

Sorry you've been feeling crappy hun.....I had a scare with bubs but all seems to be OK now.....feeling rotten myself tho with sinus infection which I've started on antibiotics for so hopefully will brighten up soon! Exciting re Doppler xx

Thank you mum2b and mummy_midwife I gave myself a shake and went round my friends and she cheered me up abit and then hubby rang to say he is back on standby again and they haven't left yet so still a waiting game of dropping everything but atleast he will hopefully still be here tonight xx I think the messing us around is actually making it worse though :( xxq

Well girls I've just had my first public embarrassment today.. Managed to throw up at the entrance to a House of Fraser store where I was working in Edinburgh city centre, then faint in costa. Still in Costa, have eaten and feel slightly better but still unsure of what to do as I have a 2hr drive home, 3 in rush hour traffic :(
Wahhh I don't want to be stuck here, although a hotel is sounding like a possibility ...xx

Aww yeah the not knowing is worse in a way....at least of u know u kind of get on with it! Shame we're not all closer as we could keep u company! Xx

Oh weezy! R u OK hun? How awful! Is there none that could come get u? U sure u should b driving? Sorry hun, bet u wanted ground to swallow u up! Xx

Btw- didn't know u worked in Edinburgh- love it there! We had our honeymoon there in December 2010! Xx

Oh no! Glad everything is ok now though. Fingers crossed the pills kick in!

Has anyone had any pains behind their belly buttons yet? Like a little sharp jab every now and then?

Aw dear weezy, are you alright? I agree that maybe someone could come and get you hun? Fainting is quite common but very scary indeed... I fainted when pregnant 1st time in Starbucks George street in Edinburgh , but they called an ambulance and I was mortified :/ I just told the ambulance people I was fine when they arrived!

The joys of being pregnant - specially if you are throwing up you can get really dehydrated, your blood sugars can drop and BP fall , that makes you prone to feeling unwell, so please make sure you are ok before driving off xxxxx

Ps I live in Edinburgh so nice to know you aren't far :)

Zoe, this 'messing around' isn't nice, maybe he won't need to go at all? I hope they make a decision one way of the other ((hugs)) x

Inkfairy, I have never had pain behind belly button but I hear so many ladies saying they do... It's all the stretching in there; it is a very common complaint indeed, it sounds uncomfortable :( x

Hi girls, just home, made it :)
The nice man in Costa gave me a toastie and a muffin and a sweet tea, left me in peace, then walked me to the car 15 mins away, was fine once I got on the road but did call and check hotel availability and pre booked a premier inn just outside Edinburgh, cancelled and all is good ! But yes, probably the most humiliating day of my adult life !

I live in Glasgow but travel everywhere North of Carlisle including the islands for work. Usually love my job but it's really tough travelling with exhaustion bluhh. But I do love Edinburgh- OH's DD lives there with her mum so we're through every other weekend, nice city :) xxx

Aw mummy midwife I didn't realise u were so close!!
As I said we're through every other weekend and I'm there for work once a week. Maybe we could have a play date once babies arrive xxx
