******August 2014 mummies******

Hey weezy! It seems like u r far away but babies can come in a 5 week window and u never know u could have yours way before most of us.....try to think of it that way! You'll b officially here before u know it! I will adjust page one with your new dates xx

It is very true happy84, I can remember being a very young 1st time mum and just 'being told' things, and didn't really think I had any choice in the matter tbh.

Mum2b410, I was seething hun lol , but really am going to try even harder from now on to be more sensitive to women so hoping some good will come out of today ! Being poorly is never good, but being pregnant really does add so much more to the picture doesn't it? Baby will be ok, it's mummy who needs to get better :hugs:

I got my perinatal mental health team appointment letter today, seeing them a week tomorrow so that is good, I do think they were prob. waiting until after my 12 week scan. They were really good last time so hoping they will be the same again :)

Bubblesch83 - I have had a bad 24 hrs and sickness has been quite bad, left me awake for hrs last night, I am still on high dose medication for it so you are definitely not alone hun; if you are suffering and want to chat there is the HG and NVP thread in pregnancy chat, everyone is very supportive and most of us are on tri 2 :) x

x

Glad u got your letter with an appointment.....hope they r just as supportive as last time.....Got my first CBT session on the 19th and have also been sent an appointment to see consultant at hospital on 18th, but it doesn't say why.....assuming its to do with risk factors (which are only related to mental health) so we shall see! Xx

Yay! Aw I do hope so, my parents are away on the holiday of a lifetime on the 30th of Aug for 3wks so praying I don't go over. It's their 1st grand child and I feel bad as they are considering cancelling but will lose a few thousand- I'd feel terrible!
Fx'd for an early (but not too early) birth!!xxx

My friend was in the same boat weezy, her parents were away for 6 weeks , they were to be at airport at 9am when she was 38+3;she went into labour the night before and baby was born 3am; her parents sneaked into birth centre at 7 am to meet baby and drove straight to airport, so lucky for them so fx your baby will come before they jet off :)

Mum2b, that's great bout appt, mine is in the 18th too. How strange they don't say why you are seeing consultant, is it an obstetric consultant you are seeing? unless things are really serious mental health wise we wouldn't normally refer to obstetric consultant, so it will be interesting to see what they have to say! Hope we'll get support x

That's such a lovely story with your friend mummy midwife!
Sorry for (possible) ignorance but my MW didn't mention CBT/perinatal MH appt, is this something offered to everyone??xx

I know, baby is 4 weeks old now and is really cute !

I had postnatal depression after my 1st baby so I get input from the perinatal mental health team when pregnant to make sure I am ok x

Aw I see. I wonder if that's something I should be asking about.. It hasn't affected me yet however depression is quite prevalent in my family. I'll speak to MW about it next time I'm in I think :) xx

CBT is cognitive behavioural therapy.....I had post natal depression last time too hun and asked for support!.....yes mummy_midwife its with obstetrics and gynacology- I've asked my midwife to call me this week and I'm going to check with her.....last time they just wrote in my notes I was to b monitored but never saw me, so wondering this time of its just for assessment or mayb there is something more they can offer me?..... I hope its not coz something is wrong with baby :-/ Would have thought I would have been told if there was tho? X

I'm being brave and uploading my first ever bump pic!....... Here is me at 15+4 xx

Aw mum2b410 you have a lovely and obvious bump, glad you posted a pic as you too look big (in the nicest possible way) was beggining to think I was just odd with a big ish bump but you and Zoe made me feel better :) love it hun!
Re consultant, It is probably the way your trust does things, it can vary so much from place to place, the consultant here never had any input but they probably will in your trust :) don't think is to do with baby as you got your screening through and your gross scan was normal. Don't worry, see what the mw says, it's probably to do with pnd.

Weezy, do mention to midwife as they will prob keep an eye on you specially after baby is born :)

I feel sick, sick , sick the corner is still to be turned for me :( :( :( upwards and onwards!

X

Evening ladies.

Lovely bump pics :). I've not really got a bump cuz I'm plus size anyway but my shape has changed and is going more bump like - can't wait look pregnant & not just fat ha ha.

Have checked my hospital letter tonight and I'm definitely at maternity tomorrow to see consultant as I'm High Risk with being fat :-/. On the plus I'm hoping we might get to hear baby's heartbeat tomoz, eeek. If not I've only got wait till Monday when I see the midwife next.

Mummy midwife I've still not turned the sick corner at night come 9pm I just feel sooo nauseous then as soon as I go up to bed I'm sick :(. I've said to my mum you said the second tri is usually the best one - really'doesnt feel like it,though I know I've not had it as bad as some of you.

I've also broken out in loads of spots this weekend and have a mahoosive spot in between my eyebrows - I've never had spots so this is new to me too.

And I've been told I look yellow today so that was nice, I know I'm very pale for me as I'm usually quite dark skinned but I am extremely pale just lately.

Ha lanny I was just chatting in another thread about all these spots on my face, not very attractive ! I had the same with my 1st ( not 2nd though) and spots cleared by about 24 weeks ish if I remember correctly so hoping they will just disappear in the very near future !

I do feel better sickness wise overall but still was sick tonight so not quite there yet! I am still waiting for the 2nd trimester glow, hope it is here somewhere and we'll find it soon x

Officially in tri 2 today guys :) ahhh so happy I'm finally past dreaded tri 1 :) got my 16 week appointment booked for 4th march which is actually 17 weeks but never mind :) xx
Sounds like your all still feeling rough :/ I must admit I have been feeling so much better last week or so just had major heartburn and been drinking milk like it's going out of fashion :) xx
Gorgeous bump mum2b I think me, you and mummy-midwife definitely have big bumps :) I quite like it now that everyone knows :) xx

Decided to pop over here although only 13 weeks at the moment, hope that's ok. Was getting impatient in tri 1! Due date 18th August no date for second scan yet. I've also got a noticeable bump which shocked me as didn't really show until 20 weeks last time...guess its partly the extra 'padding' acquired from baby no 1! Looking forward to sharing tri 2 with you all xxx

Welcome Zoe and hoping for no2! I will add you to the list shortly :-)
Thanks for comments re bump.....part of me still thinks I look fat.....b nice when its a bit more rounded..... Although I'm dreading being huge later on.....I was with Ethan so goodness knows this time!
Sorry to those still feeling sick.....I am too but don't know if its related to pregnancy or being ill!
Mummy_midwife - I hope you're right......trying not to worry about it! Its bad they send an appointment letter without any indication as to why!

Good luck for today Lanny xx

Yay Zoe congrats on 14 weeks & tri 2!!! :)

I'm still being sick most days & feeling pretty awful! :(

Hopingforno2 - I'm also jumping between tri 1 & 2, officially tri 2 at the weekend.

Lots of luck today Lanny x

Lanny - re being pale, have you been checked for anaemia, maybe mention it to your mw? I am in the same position re being plus size, getting jealous of the bump pics lol!

Donnah - tht crossed my mind last night, so will mention to me on Monday.

Been see the consultant today - what a waste of time - u don't need be qualified to see that I'm fat !!!
U have a raised BMI oh but ur arms and legs are thin -- yes I know I'm odd for a fat bird, u had high blood pressure & are n tablets - erm no I haven't been treated for high blood pressure in over 10 yrs and I'm certainly not on medication.

Oh your Bp 140/80 that's really good, and ur urine is actually clear.
here's a healthy eating leaflet come back at 21 weeks.

I understand why they do it but if I've got no probs at the min why waste everyone's time !!!

So went macdonalds for breakfast ha ha and have just driven home in the snow for the first time ever - I've been driving 3 yrs on my due date - omg I've just realised that ha ha.

I had to pass my driving test in the snow- amazed I did!.... Sounds like a real patronising waste of an appointment! At least it's done and out the way now! Hope u got home safe xx

Mum2b410 - yep was a real waste of time lol. And yes Thankyou got home ok, not going out again today so onesie on and chill whilst oh does the housework - winner :)
