******August 2014 mummies******

All this movement talk is getting me worried now. I'm 25 weeks and get the odd flutter and pop but nothing I would say was a good old kick. This is my first pregnancy so hard to know what to expect. I do have a anterior placenta so was putting the lack of movement down to that. I've got the midwife tomorrow so will have a chat with her. I've also been having really bad rib pain when I sit down which has gone to my back as well. Anyone have anything similar? I'm better if I stand or lie down which isn't always the easiest thing to do. I went to the chiropractor last week and going again on Thursday so hoping he can help a bit x

Afield- I think keeptrying14 has anterior placenta as well and hasnt been feeling loads! Think she might have started a thread in pregnancy chat! Def ask your mw but don't compare to those without anterior placenta! .....I know its hard not to worry though hun- I worry a lot! Xxx

Thanks I'll have a look and see what the midwife says tomorrow x

I have an anterior placenta as well and felt nothing until 22 weeks, some days/weeks I feel more movement than others, a couple of weeks ago I had no movement for 24 hours so went to maternity triage and thankfully everything is ok. I have had some movements today but nothing like last week when he was very active but we have had a busy few days with moving so I am not worried, he is just a bit quieter. The midwife told me to double my fluid intake as baby will move less if you are dehydrated so that might be something to consider as well.

Lots going on. Hope everyone is ok and the lack of movements is nothing serious. I had a period of two days with no movement in first pregnancy and all was well but very scary. Better to be safe than sorry i say!

Hope everyone had a lovely bh weekend. Enjoyed the sunshine here.

Really feeling the weekend now though. Up at 5 for a bootfair of all my "pink" stuff yesterday to help fund the blue lol. But now whole body is playing up. Also little finger has started going numb/ tingly - this is the start of carpel tunnel is it?

Oh and i realised today how much im waddling already - oh the shame haha x

Hey Alfred me too!! I'm getting worried but like u have midwife app tomo so will ask her. I'm sure it's our anterior placenta causing the trouble. I only get pops and a few kicks depending on where she is lying but will def be bringing it up tomo. I can go a day without feeling anything then have a day of fidgeting I guess it's normal?! Xxx

My body isnt any good for this pregnancy malarky! Haha awful isnt it waddling so early lol x

So I've done it ladies, rang my manager & told her I'm on the sick for 4 weeks. Didn't say I was planning on starting maternity straight after, just said we were thinking about going on maternity earlier than first arranged & that I'd put it in writing if we decided. But I'll put the letter in with my sick note when I send it in tomoro.
Such a relief now...!

Glad you sorted work out Hun and are now resting and thinking about your little bundle of joy x

Hope it goes well tomorrow keeptrying14. Let's see what they come up with x

Afield and Keeptrying please don't worry, an anterior placenta makes the movement patterns sound very different to those without an anterior placenta, nonetheless if you are ever worried about baby not moving as usual, I would go get it checked regardless of where your placenta is; the point I was trying to make was that movements are important. However most of the time we are too busy to pay attention all the time and the movements go unnoticed, hence why I would try what mum2b suggested, stopping what you are doing, drink cold drink etc and if not reassured seek help. This was not to scare or worry anyone but for us to keep alert.

That's why I should keep to my statement below my signature :( xxx

Alfield just got back and she was really reassuring she said we should feel movement every day but it will never be like what people with posteriors have. She said il prob never feel a foot or elbow coming out but should feel turning and soft punches. She also said it won't get a proper routine til 28 weeks and until then along as I feel a bit of movemt it's fine. She did say if ever worried make sure I go In they would rather be safe than sorry. How did urs go? Xxx

Hi I saw a different midwife today who was really nice. She said that the anterior placenta is creating a big cushion so not to worry that it's just flutters at the mo. She said if they haven't got stronger by next appointment in 3 weeks then she would send me to the hospital to get checked out. I guess we will just feel a bit more as the baby gets bigger and stronger x

V day for us I think. Just waiting to see midwife now as well for 24 week appointment. Time moves so fast.

Hey guys, I've fallen behind on here again!
Been so busy with bank holiday weekend at work and housework!

I feel like I'm about to moan loads so I'm apologising before I start for being negative but I feel like utter crap!
I've been getting hard, tight bump! Midwife said it's Brixton hicks for the last week and baby boy is moving around constantly which I love cause it's reassuring but I have started throwing up yesterday all I have to do is eat just that little bit to much and that it I'm running to hug the toilet for 15 minutes! Anyone else found this? Just feel dehydrated and look like crap! Not looking forward to work tomorrow incase I end up running for the loo! Xx
