******August 2014 mummies******

Yeh- we have been looking at second hand Phil and teds but read quite a few people complaining re punctures and the newborn bit being tiny (can't put them in seat til 6months). If this boy is like Ethan and around 9lbs not sure how it would all work?!...... Y isn't it just simple?! :-/

Thanks girls! So this is baby Amelia! picking her nose! haha

Hi hin good to see you in here! Congrats on team pink! So far all the HG girls are pink wonder if I am...although had scan today and hubby thinks he might have seen 'something' so odds are on for another blue bundle!

So relieved to have scan and everything looks ok... Watched obem last night and was panicking they would pick up somethng at the scan...probably not the best idea to watch the day before! Xx

Yep, not being to get the baby to sit up was what put me off Phil and teds, in hindsight however it would had been fine as Emily was happy wherever we put her. As I said I used a double MacLaren, they will all have it's ups and downs, this one doesn't have a carrycot or anything for a newborn plus the weight can be a bit lopsided with the toddler side being heavier, but you can balance it out with changing bags etc. but it was so practical, durable, with independent seats, light weight and the neatest folded plus it fitted through standard doors. And we got a very decent price when we sold it on so all in all it was a good buy. If money and space isn't a problem I think I would go for a bugaboo donkey ( silly name apart) ? Not sure hun just throwing ideas as I remember deciding on a double was harder than I thought xxx

Don't tell me that now that girls are mistaken for boys!!!!! I'm gunna get the NHS scan to confirm it to back up the private gender scan. I could definitely tell it was a girl and I'm not trained so hopefully it's correct

Hey hopingforn2, I am convinced we are all having girls lol but maybe I am wrong and your DH is right, so glad all went ok with your scan too and that bubs is healthy in there... OBEM should had put a warning on last night that it would be a hard one to watch :-/ xxx

Thank u hun- I appreciate the tips/advice! I think its hard coz I reckon most people wouldn't bother with a double when their toddler will b 2yrs 9months but I know that being able to put them in and just go out without dealing with Ethan whinging, tantruming coz he can't run off or getting tired will b a big help to my mental state!....... What did u do with Emily until she could sit up then? I read the maclarens r 6months up?
Will have a look at the donkey one too! Thank u!

Sounds like me not watching OBEM was a good thing if there is something to do with finding stuff on scan! I will watch 2 episodes after scan next Monday if all ok!! Xxx

The double MacLaren lies flat so suitable from birth, and the seats are independent from each other so the toddler can sit up or lie flat for naps and the same for the baby, will see if I can find a pic of my kids in it ;)

Def leave OBEM til Monday hun xx

No hun I mean girls can be mistaken for boys. Girls bits can be swollen and mistaken for a winky. So worried my little man is a little lady lol. My potty shot has 3 lines which is normally girl but protruding so looks like a boy. It's extremely rare to say girl and it not be a girl xxx

That's great mummy_midwife! Thanks!

Magdalena- never heard of that hun! What is it? X

Sorry- another question! Mummy_midwife- with the double maclaren- when Aaron didn't use it anymore what did u do for Emily? Did u sell it and get a single pushchair or just keep using it? X

It is extra seat and You can attach it to almost any pushchair site and when toddler doesn't need you can fold it on the site. There is lots of them on eBay second hand.

I think I am going with buggy board and hope for the best.
Ps he won't be able to sleep in buggypod.

I had kept the single pushchair from Aaron so when Aaron outgrew the double or it was short trips he could walk I used the single with Emily.

With the single techno xt and the twin techno maclaren folding so neatly I could fit both sets in the boot of the car and pick and choose which I needed at the time and the same for storing them in the house.

I also had a buggy board but after one traumatic rainy and windy day outing with one wet and grumpy 20 month old and a stressed out mum I decided a double was worth the investment and sold the buggy board ... However many mums find the buggyboard suits their needs which would had been marvelous if it had done so for me. X

Thank u v much! Always helps to know what's worked and what's not in other people's experiences! Xx

Hey, hardto find time to catch up with this thread. so exciting to see everyone finding out gender -cant wait for myscan monday.

i am having the same dilemma with double buggy or not! so hard but think i will leave it till closer to august and see how dd copes walking more. We also dont have money to splash on another new buggy! x

Hi hun- nice to hear from u! Hope u r doing OK. Good luck for scan Monday!

The buggy thing is hard- my little boy can walk a fair way outside but I don't think I will cope well being over tired with a baby and a toddler who won't walk where I need him to go or is tantruming coz he's tired! Its hard to predict what he will b like in 4 months time but I think we will get something and sell it on again as and when! I just want to b able to put them both in and walk for like an hour or something coz I think it will help me lose weight and save my sanity! Lol!

Xxx
