The New IVF/IUI Thread - 5BFPs!

Use it Tinkerbell. It can't do any harm and will help you feel like you have done all you can x

I personally didn't because they didn't offer it but I know other iui girls did, it can only help so I would go for it if you have some xx

Hi girls, can I join? I'm currently in limbo but will be referred for IUI as soon as we complete some tests. We're waiting for an appointment through the post to book me in for a pelvic ultrasound and bloods to be done on cd 2, 3 and 4 to re check my hormone profile..so I hope af bloody shows up soon! Those tests are just updates really but we also have forms for both of us to have bloods done for hepatitis, HIV etc.. I'm also trying to lose the last few pounds of weight to get my bmi down to the requirement - it's given me something to focus on! I've lost about 11-12 pounds so far but I've got another 8-10 to lose yet.

Phew. So that's me, hope everyone's doing good. :) x

Hey this thread is starting to look really good isnt it with the number of bfp's! Im currently waiting on the hospital to ring which they should be doing any day now really, then i'll be starting the down regulators on my next period...trouble is im due on in like 2 days so looks like i'll be starting it in March now.... even so getting closer and closer....eeekkk so excited!!! xxx

Hi ladies

Can I join?

Had first IVF consultation today. It went ok, piles of forms to complete, hubby gave sample and we both had bloods taken.

They called half an hour ago to say screening bloods were fine and no problems with SA - hubby will get exact details tomorrow.

Plan is to monitor me this cycle, so had day 1-3 bloods taken today, I have a day 10-14 scan booked for Monday 4th March along with immune bloods to be taken that day then I have to go for more bloods post ovulation.

They would quite like to do a hysteroscopy but I'm not convinced I need on of those, but will mull it over.

All being well and FSH is 10 or below, it will be all systems go really soon!

xxxx

Welcome Mishi! All sounds good, keep us posted!

Hi MissJ, looks like we're forever chasing each other around threads!

Hi Gemma! Just wanted to say hello as I hadn't yet :)

I'm on CD63 with nothing going on, same old story :/

Wow you lot have been busy!

Gemma in the sun - good luck for af arrival and down regs - exciting time..
Mishi - yayy glad your appointment went well and they seem to be packing in the tests , so yayy, hope you can start next cycle then..
Tinkerbell - Well done your follys, good luck for your 2ww, really hope it's your turn..
Miss July - well done on your huge weight loss, keep it up, your nearly there X
Jacq - how are you doing?

Thanks girls, have just discovered I'm actually ovulating now so I'll come back when things are more definite. :)

Thanks JJ, it's really dragging which is annoying. Ill be 6DPIUI tomorrow and think ill end up caving and testing around Wed/Thursday next week.

Got an appointment with Ivf hammersmith on 8th march to talk about possibly taking part in the trial Scotch did, hopefully it won't be needed though.

JJ/MissJ - I'm fine really. Been on Metformin for almost 6 weeks now but it doesn't seem to have helped as I'm still awaiting AF. Last one was when the ICSI failed, but I had a 140 day cycle in the last two years so I could be waiting a while longer yet! We're still trying but I don't do OV tests as I'd have to buy hundreds and have had so many false positives. Anyway, what I'm saying is we are still trying but being more spontaneous and just having a bit if a break from the obsessive DTD!

I have my follow up consultation at the clinic 5th March so we'll see what our options are then. But really I think I just have to decide whether I can swallow throwing another £6K away on a cycle which may fail. That may seem a bit pessimistic but the last cycle couldn't have gone better in terms of follicles, fertilisation and blasts etc and that still failed. And £12K is a lot of money when you don't have much :/

Aww God totally feel for you it's so hard anyway but when you are paying must be so so difficult, we are lucky here to get 3 tries for free which I know is a lot more than most in England. Xxx

I caved in and tested today at 10dpiui and BFN:cry: I know it's possibly still too early but I just can't see it changing, I don't feel pregnant and just don't feel like I'm having any signs/symptoms

Really sorry you got a bfn tinkerbell.... but I have my fingers crossed its just too early :o/

Hi All,

This is my first time posting on the IVF / IUI thread.

I'm just starting my first cycle of IVF. I am on the short antagonist protocol with contraceptive pills. Today is 2 weeks of me taking the pills and I have my first scan on 8th March where they will tell me when and how to do my injections. Had the delivery of all the medications on Wednesday and was a bit of a shock as there was so much stuff!! They made out like it was ok for it to be delivered to work and would be ok to take home on the tube as they said stuff for the fridge is packed in an ice pack. 2 huge boxes turned up at my office  but it was ok I repacked and managed to get it all home ok. Now its all staring at me from the fridge and the kitchen table and I'm feaking out - suppose I do the injections wrong or take too much / not enough... Eeeek!

Moley x x

Tinkerbell, I came in here to check on you - I'm really hoping af didn't get you after your iui XX

Moely - welcome to this thread - good luck with your cycle

Jacq - nice that your dtd when you fancy now, lots get bfps that way without the stress and hassle of the whole thing - hope you can post a bfp over the next few cycles - the cost is really a killer isn't it.. We start paying back our new loan for our 12K baby! next month (we took a 2 mth payment holiday!) hope I get a baby from it as I would be paying it back when a lo was at school at this rate!
