Howdy all, back in the days when I first came over here there was a thread that you could look at to see where everyone was in diagnosis and treatment which I found really useful. As we got our diagnosis I learned a lot from following the stories of those who were further along than me.
As there's loads of new faces at the moment I thought it would be a useful thing to bring back. So pop up your story and I'll keep this front post updated with where people are.
I'll make it look more pretty when I get home and am on the computer
Diagnosis / Waiting for Treatment
ab11 - came off the pill 2008, wasnt really tryin fir the first to 2years just not usin protection. After my early MC last march we relised how much we wanted r own family. I had both bloods done last year, hubby had sperm test in jan. Then we got refered to a gyno, where we found out i had an std. So we got rid of that. All bloods fine, sperm tests fine. Waitin for hsg now
AlwaysTrying - trying for 3 years, had a lapascopy at the age of 18 (34 now) due to some other problems, out come 1 blocked tube, bloods done in August 2011 and have a low AMH level, next stage IVF not sure when to go through with it yet
Chazabell - TTC since Jan 2010 currently on cycle 32. SA --> Impressive. Referred to fertility unit Aug 2011. PCOS diagnosed Sept 2011. 5x Failed clomid cycle, 1x failed IUI cycle. HyCosy done --> tubes patent. Progesterone levels always seem fine, over 127. Increasingly heavy and painfull periods. Suspected Endometriosis, Laparoscopy hopefully mid June.
gemmainthesun - 2 years TTC Male Infertility, very low sperm count. All clear with me. On IVF waiting list for ICSI should be within the next 6 months now but who knows. Medication, Wellman, zinc and Maca powder for him, no follow up SA done as of yet
greekgirl84 - Been ttc since feb 2010. Had 21 bloods and hubby had sa which were normal. Had mc at 5 weeks - 2 weeks ago. Had fertility appointment on thurs and am awaiting start up appointment to start ivf. really happy with this. But reading up on ivf has fried my brain. Will be needing advice from ladies with experiences
hayes - have been ttc since may 2011 so on cycle 13 now, had my 21 day bloods done and all fine, Hubbie's sperm came back good as well. Back to the doctor's in the new year.
heyjude82 - Started casually with the 'let's just do it & see' attitude for 1st year. Then march this year after over one year of trying I went to doctors and was referred on for my 21 day blood tests. I only had to call up for results and they came up as 'normal' that's all I was told. Not sure if I should've queried that more? Anyways we started using CBFM in April and are now on month 3 with that and also double checking it with digital OV sticks. I've had peaks & smiley faces on Day 16/17 each month so with a normally 28 or 29 day cycle that means my Luteal Phase is quite short at around 9-10 days. we've had OH test results back. He has good sperm count but the motility is not good. He's been referred onto endocrinology unit at hospital for further investigation. The referrel will take up to 6 weeks before we even get appointment date!! So it's a waiting game again. In the meantime he is stopping drinking & smoking completely (he had cut back previously) and we are upping the exercise and improving diet. I'll be feeding him all the sperm boosting goods I can find and have ordered 1000mg Vitamin C, Vitamin E 400iu, Zinc 15mg, Selenium 200mg + Vitamin A.
Kay Kay - 32 yrs old, married Aug 2009, came off pill (after 9 years) Sep 2009, started TTC Feb 2010. Been using opks and always get a positive. Cycles vary between 27-43 days. After a year of no luck went to gp, had alll the blood tests done, day 21 came back with a result of 50 was told that was good and that meant I ovulated. Hubbys sperm analysis was normal. Was put on a 9 month waiting list for the acu at the Glasgow royal. Went for appt which lasted all.of ten mins, went over our results and asked about lifestyle etc. Doc did an internal scan and all was normal. Was told I needed an hsg to check my tubes, 6 month waiting list. Dec 2011 I had a TTC mini.meltdown and decided to get hsg done privately as was told the waiting list for hsg at the royal had gone up to 7 months! Tubes checked and all clear. Follow up appt at the royal a few weeks later they said you have unexplained infertility, there is no reason you can't conceive. So now on a 16-18 month waiting list for iui and 24 month waiting list (yes you read right) for ivf. Have tried acupuncture, take all the vits, use sperm friendly lube, you name it. So all I can do is wait
KMG - ttc since May 2011 cycle 13, been to the doctor and to have 21 day bloods and hubby for SA. my bloods have been done and come back fine I did not question more I might call and ask for a print out! hubby got his results and the doctor said all "normal" what ever that means! We have been sent away for six months (after Christmas) and to keep doing what we are doing as the doctor says we are in the prime time to concieve! I have warned hubby that there is a slim (ok ok very high) chance that i will not make it until after Christmas before i go back to the doctors!
LD1978 - Trying since Feb 2011. Referred to fertility clinic in march. 2 x progesterone tests at 31 and 27. Nhs not sure ovulating but after speaking to private clinic they think I am. All bloods fine, sperm tests fine. Waitin for hsg now
Longingforabump - we have been ttc since September 2009 with no luck until June 2010 when I was diagnosed a miscarriage at 6 weeks but persistent chest pain and bleeding lead me to hospital on 10th sept for a scan to reveal it was a ruptured ectopic and I was 13 weeks pregnant, baby was live and I received a scan of my little button nosed bean before sadly removing baby and what was left of my left tube. Fell pregnant straight away and miscarried nov 2010 at 6 weeks. Had odd pain since 3 weeks after miscarriage and finally had laparoscopy in march 2012 after nagging constantly and being told to 'put up with it'. Laparoscopy revealed white and black endometriosis and severe at that. I find out I had endo before but they had failed to tell me after my ectopic op and it was never noted in medical records. Chronic pain and fatigue started again in April 2012 and been told endo is back with a vengeance and I am likely to loose my right tube to it so we are running against the clock! Bloods came back clear. We're having to take a break in ttc as I can't take June/July off work. I've been referred for counselling but a.) it's on a weekday morning (do they not realise I work?!) and b.) not sure how helpful it will be and don't really want it on my record :/ I've finally got my fertility clinic app on 21st aug! Almost 3 years ttc and we're just getting our first app. Nervous too! Dont really know what to expect, and it's at the hospital which every time I go in I get panick attacks :/ since my ectopic :/ but the oh will be with me and this is the first app hes come to with me
Lynette - trying for 3 years, one MMC at 14 weeks, had 21 day bloods, SA to come but i have to wait until July for anything further
mrspc - 33 married to OH who is same age. We've been married for 3 years. TTC for 2 years after taking pill for entire adult life! Have just had a little break though because I was cracking up!! My bloods came back normal. OH's first SA came back with dodgy motility and morphology. We're waiting for second SA before being referred. Should be referred by end of the summer.
Nicknack - Trying to concieve 3 years in November - Had Ectopic pregnancy October 2011 - Tests all normal on mine and hubbys side - except me who has a slightly blocked tube (cant remeber which side) - had to wait 3 months before TTC again and this is now my 7th cycle since the Ectopic - Dr has told us to try till Sept and if nothing we will start IVF so counting down to Sept as he has advised my first cycle of IVF will be done within 16 weeks from my Sept appointment so by Dec hopefully i would of had my first cycle.
Poppy1987 - have been ttc since April 2011. I came off the mini pill got regular periods straight away but no luck yet, having all the vitamins, cbfm, conceive plus. I have finally been to the doctors and having my first blood test Tuesday
toscacat - I am 31 oh 37, implant removed Sep 2011 and I have been ttc number 1 since. Diagnosed with pcos august 12 with cycles ranging from 65 to 22 days. Bloods done day 3 fsh 6.4 lh 10.7 testosterone 1.8. Pelvic ultrasound showed numerous follicles less than 10mm with both ovaries enlarged. Bloods day 21 (well 18 actually as ?25 day cycle this month) progesterone 1.2. Oh SA 24th Aug. Fertility clinic 23rd October. Weight 15st 2lb (weight lossed since diagnosis 4lb)
Medication
Bellarina - Im 28 & DH is 27. We have been married a yr this sunday. We have been ttc since july 2011 which is when i came off the pill Yasmin. However I am suffering from irregular cycles ranging from 24 days to a whopping 80. Iv had bloods and a scan done and hubby had an SA everything came back normal so fertility specialist has put me on Clonid (50 mg for 3 cycles to start) & if that doesnt work hes going to do a hsg on my tubes then up me to 100mg. Provided im not lucky enuff to get a bfp this weekend il b starting my first round of clomid
3Beloved - Been TTC for about 9 months. I have arthritis so on lots of medication. I also have PCOS. Taking Metformin, Folic Acid going to restart Agnus Castus. Trying VERY hard to loose weight .
emma.b - TTC since feb 2010. All bloods, swabs and HSG came back ok, internal scan showed Cysts on ovaries. OH had 2 SA first showed low sperm count and poor motility. 2nd show normal sperm count and motility!! Got my progesterone results back they were 13ml, 17ml and 36ml. So I only ovulated once in 3 months. I'm now on 3 cycles of 50mg clomid. fx this works.
Itisbabytime - TTC 1 year. SA good. AMH and follcile count borderline low. Hysteroscopy clear. Inconclusive HSG - not redoing. On clomid till end of year before thinking about next step.
kiki0210 - TTC since May 2011. Diagnosed with under active thyroid, now on meds. Day 21 and 30 bloods showed progesterone levels of 0.4 and 0.2 so docs think I'm not ov, at least not with any regularity! Last af on 14th March 2012. OH had testicular cancer in 2007 and 1 removed but all good now. His SA is still normal thankfully! Internal exam and pelvic ultrasound normal for me. Now on first round of clomid 50mg for 3 cycles after taking provera to kick start things. Ovulated between 2nd and third scan so between cd 21 and 25 so here's hoping!!! x
MissJ - Had bloods, HSG, semen analysis and scans all results great but I have cysts on my ovaries. Given 100mg Clomid and Norethisterone for 6 cycles - but hopefully we'll be pregnant soon and won't need it all.
IUI/IVF/ICSI
Gizzy Kelly - TTC since September 2009 so over 2.5 years. Unexplained infertility. All scans clear, hycosy good. Regular periods and ovulation. Waiting for IVF referral to Herts & Essex Fertility Clinic.
Laurat - been trying since July 2009 after over 8 years on depo provera jag. No af for over a year. Finally back and regular July 2010. BFP Feb 2011 but natural mc 2 weeks later. No ovulation since Feb 2011! Body shut down completely after this. Tried 2 cycles of clomid with no success. 1 cycle of letrazole with 3 menopur injections which initiated something but now have to wait for IUI, starting 23rd August.
LouiseB - NTNP 5 years, TTC 2 years, male factor infertility, extensive diagnostics - all clear, three failed cycles of IVF (ICSI) in UK, changed to a clinic in Belgium, hubby finally diagnosed with Oocyte Activation Deficiency, starting ICSI #4 with assisted oocyte activation in August 2012.
rea2012 - TCC since 2010, My OH has low sperm count, I had HSG, bloods & Internal scan in 2011. HSG clear, internal scan revealed that a cyst was "taking over" my ovary. I had keyhole surgery in Dec 2011 to remove it, which was successful and I kept my ovaries Lots more bloods and another internal scan. Diagnosed PCO this month. Cycles super erratic and often long. Starting ICSI next month.
Scotchegg - TTC for 2 years. Very low sperm count diagnosed after 15 months. One cycle of IVF with ICSI in April 2012, BFN. One frozen cycle in August 2012, BFN. Taking a bit of a break before the next cycle as it's taken a lot out of us both.
Skeando - Trying since June 2009 (woo hoo 3rd birthday as a TTC'r coming up). Had all manner of blood tests, echovist internal scan with dye and SA done for OH, all clear. Had 10week cycles for first year and half but they have regulated on own and appear to OV normally so fall under "unexplained". Starting IUI in September 2012.
Tinkerbell3 - TTC since December 2010, husband diagnosed with low sperm count Jan/Feb 2012 and bloods and Hycosy showed all fine with me. Currently going through our first (and only NHS) funded ICSI cycle, down reg started 6th June and scan and Gonal F injections should start 25th June.
Recurrent Miscarriage
bewdleygirl - I'm 36, ttc since feb 2011. Chemical pregnancy march 2011 @ 4.5 weeks. Oct 2011, referred to local hospital - Tests - Initial US scan revealed 3mm blood filled cyst on ovary and 4cm fibroid...suspected endo, had laparoscopy, cyst had gone, no endo but diagnosed with a womb abnormality - a partial septum, was told it can cause miscarriage Prog results show i ovulate & hubbys SA good, tubes clear. Op to remove septum on nhs would only be offered after 3 m/c's .... So onward with clomid. BFP on first cycle, ended in mmc at 8 weeks. Decided to see maybe baby's private doctor .....he discovered I had been misdiagnosed by nhs! Womb distortion was caused by fibroid not a septum, so had myomectomy in July 2012. All ready to try again and praying for a sticky bean.
Corrinne37 - TTC baby number 2 since Aug 2010. Fell PG first month of trying but sadly ended in MMC at 12 wks. Further 10 mths of trying fell PG again - sadly ended in MMC again at 9 wks. Trying again for a further 9 mths now. 38 and fastly approaching 39 now - so panic stations! Have son who has just turned 3. He was conceived first month of trying.
flisstebs - Age 33: TTC #1 since Sept 2010. MMC 12 weeks in Feb 2011 (twins), treated with ERPC. Spent March - Sept 2011 ttc without any success, and went on the pill again until March 2012 as I started to freak out and got a new partnership. BFP in May 2012 but was ?ectopic, and given methotrexate. As I had a pregnancy (unplanned) that ended in MC aged 21 (was with my current DH then too), I'm being treated as recurrent MC. Had my bloods and scans, waiting for follow up clinic Sept 2012.
Hayels - Ttc since 2009 5 miscarriage. Diagnosed with a blood clotting problem ( thrombophillia ) put on aspirin to thin blood for 5 pregnancy which didn't work. Going for more blood test and also awaiting results karyotypeing

Nicky1987 - Had bloods, scans and every bloody thing else!!! Diagnosed with pcos and currently on clomid 50mg!!

Vickyxx - Trying since April 2010, diagnosed with pcos in Jan 2011. Started clomid May 2011. Dec 2011 Lap + Dye & Ovarian drilling, back on clomid with metformin, still didnt work so now been referred to IVF clinic awaiting first appointment. Natural while waiting for the appointment - 25th June 2012

LouiseB - NTNP 5 years, TTC 2 years, male factor infertility, extensive diagnostics - all clear, three failed cycles of IVF (ICSI) in UK, changed to a clinic in Belgium, hubby finally diagnosed with Oocyte Activation Deficiency, starting ICSI #4 with assisted oocyte activation in August 2012.
rea2012 - TCC since 2010, My OH has low sperm count, I had HSG, bloods & Internal scan in 2011. HSG clear, internal scan revealed that a cyst was "taking over" my ovary. I had keyhole surgery in Dec 2011 to remove it, which was successful and I kept my ovaries Lots more bloods and another internal scan. Diagnosed PCO this month. Cycles super erratic and often long. Starting ICSI next month.
Scotchegg - TTC for 2 years. Very low sperm count diagnosed after 15 months. One cycle of IVF with ICSI in April 2012, BFN. One frozen cycle in August 2012, BFN. Taking a bit of a break before the next cycle as it's taken a lot out of us both.
Skeando - Trying since June 2009 (woo hoo 3rd birthday as a TTC'r coming up). Had all manner of blood tests, echovist internal scan with dye and SA done for OH, all clear. Had 10week cycles for first year and half but they have regulated on own and appear to OV normally so fall under "unexplained". Starting IUI in September 2012.
Tinkerbell3 - TTC since December 2010, husband diagnosed with low sperm count Jan/Feb 2012 and bloods and Hycosy showed all fine with me. Currently going through our first (and only NHS) funded ICSI cycle, down reg started 6th June and scan and Gonal F injections should start 25th June.

bewdleygirl - I'm 36, ttc since feb 2011. Chemical pregnancy march 2011 @ 4.5 weeks. Oct 2011, referred to local hospital - Tests - Initial US scan revealed 3mm blood filled cyst on ovary and 4cm fibroid...suspected endo, had laparoscopy, cyst had gone, no endo but diagnosed with a womb abnormality - a partial septum, was told it can cause miscarriage Prog results show i ovulate & hubbys SA good, tubes clear. Op to remove septum on nhs would only be offered after 3 m/c's .... So onward with clomid. BFP on first cycle, ended in mmc at 8 weeks. Decided to see maybe baby's private doctor .....he discovered I had been misdiagnosed by nhs! Womb distortion was caused by fibroid not a septum, so had myomectomy in July 2012. All ready to try again and praying for a sticky bean.
Corrinne37 - TTC baby number 2 since Aug 2010. Fell PG first month of trying but sadly ended in MMC at 12 wks. Further 10 mths of trying fell PG again - sadly ended in MMC again at 9 wks. Trying again for a further 9 mths now. 38 and fastly approaching 39 now - so panic stations! Have son who has just turned 3. He was conceived first month of trying.
flisstebs - Age 33: TTC #1 since Sept 2010. MMC 12 weeks in Feb 2011 (twins), treated with ERPC. Spent March - Sept 2011 ttc without any success, and went on the pill again until March 2012 as I started to freak out and got a new partnership. BFP in May 2012 but was ?ectopic, and given methotrexate. As I had a pregnancy (unplanned) that ended in MC aged 21 (was with my current DH then too), I'm being treated as recurrent MC. Had my bloods and scans, waiting for follow up clinic Sept 2012.
Hayels - Ttc since 2009 5 miscarriage. Diagnosed with a blood clotting problem ( thrombophillia ) put on aspirin to thin blood for 5 pregnancy which didn't work. Going for more blood test and also awaiting results karyotypeing

Nicky1987 - Had bloods, scans and every bloody thing else!!! Diagnosed with pcos and currently on clomid 50mg!!
on third cycle of clomid - 20th June 2012Vickyxx - Trying since April 2010, diagnosed with pcos in Jan 2011. Started clomid May 2011. Dec 2011 Lap + Dye & Ovarian drilling, back on clomid with metformin, still didnt work so now been referred to IVF clinic awaiting first appointment. Natural

4th cycle 100mg clomid & thyroxine x 17th July 2012 xblondy13 - TTC for 18 months, diagnosed with PCOS October 2011. Not ovulating at all.
