The New IVF/IUI Thread - 5BFPs!

Had a scan today - womb lining thickening and some follicles growing on one side not much on the other. They did a blood test to see if they needed to change my dosage of Gonal F but they called back later in the day to tell me to stay on same dose. I've been told to start with the Cetrotide today and than take it every morning while continuing th Gonal F in the evening. Back in on Monday for another scan.

Moley x x

That's good then, sure u will start to get lots more follicles! Do you know roughly how long now before they do the egg retrieval? X

Good luck Moley in the sun for some lovely folicles growing, hopefully within 10-12 days yourll be at EC, and Gemma in the sun - good luck with DR.

Greek hows things going?

I am definitely having one put back tomo its compressed and ready . Other one was still only 8 cells at 3pm so hoping it starts showing signs of compression and can be put back but feeling it will just be a one embryo transfer x

I'm estimating next Friday for Egg Retrieval but that's based on how much medicine I have - Doc yesterday says it depends on my response to meds. Fingers crossed I get lots of lovely follicles!!

Moley x

Exciting times ahead ladies a few of us going through this at same time? Do we know how tinkerbell got on? Anyone else close to starting ivf?

Things are moving along for me now. Monitoring cycle is completed now as had my progesterone checked 5 days after my +ve opk and it was 60, so they want me to come in on day 1 or 2 of AF (which is due on 22nd/23rd March) have my FSH checked again and if it's still below 10 we will be starting with IVF this month :)

I'm thrilled/nervous at the same time but so glad to be getting on with things! Fingers crossed my FSH will behave itself.

xxxx

How did your ET go GreekGirl84?! Fingers crossed for your FSH Mishi!! How are you today Gemma?!

I had a bit of bleeding after my cetrotide injection this mroning - felt like all the cetrotide came out and my stomach is still sore!! Don't think I used a fatty enough part of my belly. I was ok at first with the injections but now they're stinging a bit and I'm really having to psyche myself up!! I'm sitting there for ages with a bit of skin in one hand and the needles in the other like a complete loon!!

Moley x x

Et went well. Only had one put back as between 3pm wed and 10am thurs it had only made 2 cell progress and was slowing down so seems it was running out of energy. The one that was put back was showing good compaction and even progressed from 8am to 10am when they checked just before transfer. So I'm hoping it continues to be a good embryo and carries on growing.

Just had call from collegue. There are about 8 of our reception unit with chicken pox. 5 off and they sent 3 home today. Should I be concerned about going back on Monday? X

Fingers crossed for ya GreekGirl84...

I don't know about work on Monday for you - I'd be concerned too to be honest. Maybe one of the more experienced girls can advise you?! Have you tried googling or maybe ask your clinic?!

I have tried googling but nothing great. I will call the clinic on Monday morning as there is no way I'm putting this embryo at risk. X

Nah don't go in not worth it. Well done with embryo transfer let's hope it sticks x

GG if you've had chickenpox as a child then you'll have immunity so any exposure won't do you or embie any harm.

xxxx

Thanks for the advice everyone.

So I'm at no risk Mishi? All I'm concerned about is causing harm to embryo. That's why thought I'd ask for advice x

GG - Yayyy for embie back onboard you- good luck, I really wish it sticks for you XX
there is a thread in the Trimester one group at the mo, may help.

Moley, keep holding fatty bit after you injected, count at least 5 seconds without moving needle after , pull out and then let go of fat bit, I found I go no leaks that way...

Use a small lunch ice pack for 10 secs before you jab, no pain then, and then less fear and waiting..

I'm still here and without a BFP.
We're now hoping to be doing another IVF in May thanks to a trial at Hammersmith clinic, we've initially been accepted pending some more tests I need to have. Would have been able to have them and start our cycle in April but they did a scan when we went for the appointment last week and I have a cyst on my left ovary, hopefully it should be gone by my next cycle.

I picked up my notes today from my clinic (as Hammersmith need some stuff from them) and even though its been 9 months since our failed IVF I felt really gutted and upset about it all again, think it just reminded me of it all when I was reading through them.
Looking at them I got to see some more info about our embryos though, some of which has me confused and also exact numbers for DH's analysis from our IVF and IUI.

Good luck GreekGirl

I literally have no idea of the risks but if there's any way you can avoid going into work then may be worth trying?

Early in my first pregnancy, my manager with whom I'd been working closely for months came down with german measles and I was always upset to think what that may have led to if the pregnancy had continued.

I've no idea if chickenpox is anything like measles (google may know) but for something this important, it doesn't seem worth the risk!

xx
