Roll Call - April 2011!

Hey. Louise cam u add me
J am awaiting blood result so they can determine what treatment I need for over active thyroid. The believed reason for recurrent miscarriages. Thanks x

Updated.

It has gone quickly hasn't it! Glad you're back on track :good:

I think you should wait until May/June before you start your next cycle though... (no ulterior motive at all! Honest )

IVF buddies! :) Xx

Hi - thought I'd better join you all as we've just started the doctor process. I had my day 4 bloods done yesterday, and I've got my next lot on 18 April. In the meantime, I'll also be trying to drag hubby up the A14 to do his jungle juice sample. We were laughing yesterday wondering how he was going to catch it in the little cup they give you, especially as Mr Sausage is pointing upwards. Does he hold it upside down? Does he have to bend Mr Sausage downwards? Does he put the cup on the floor and do a handstand and aim? Will there be a sexy nurse at the hospital to give him a hand? On a serious note, have any of your partners done the sample at your hospital? Apparently he can use a room at ours but he's wondering if there would be any "appropriate literature" in there to get him in the mood!

lol! :good:

I think it is more of a horizontal trajectory

He's in for a shock if he think's it's going to be a sensual masturation session in a porn haven ;)

Think... smells like sweaty ball sacks.
Think... visibly second hand porn mags.
Think... waiting room full of sick people on the other side of the door.
Think... sign on the door telling you to wipe the seat down

My hubby did comment that the cup is teeny tiny too and you can't miss a single drop or the sample needs to be marked as "incomplete" lol

I was wondering, do you have the short protocol or the long protocol?

I was on the long protocol last time, so I assume it will be the same next time since it was 'almost' succesful!

Got a positive OPK today - God I'm desperately hoping we'll get a BFP without having to go through it all again, but I know it's just wishful thinking :-(

lol Louise has hit the nail right on the head!

Also think... slightly stained carpet (surely lino would have been a better idea in the 'wank booth' as DH affectionately calls it)

Pretty grim

Urgh carpet?! That is grim - at least hubby doesn't have to worry about that one :)

No harm trying Bead ;) Good luck :D

Hi everyone - quick update from me. Hubby made the trip to Cambridge yesterday, booked a room and did the deed (semen sample). I felt so sorry for him. He was a bit stressed out. I didn't tell him what you lot had said about how skanky the room might be. It did turn out to be skanky. There weren't any magazines in there and there was a packed waiting room outside of people waiting to have blood tests, so quite noisy. I'd told him to buy a naughty mag to take with him but he was too embarrassed to buy one and ended up getting Nuts magazine. He said it was about as arousing as Angling Times :D Anyway, despite all this he managed to give a sample, which was fab news. I really thought he might struggle - I know I would! As I work in Cambridge, we met up afterwards and took him for lunch as he'd been so brave!!

So, just my 21-day bloods on Monday and that'll be the first bit over. I haven't rung up about my day 3 bloods - I thought I'd wait until the other lot is done and get it all together.

How's everyone else doing? xxx

Well done tract0rboy ;)

You certainly getting through a lot of tests which is great - shouldn't be long before you have an idea if anything obvious is going on :)

Hi, Louise - yes, not too long to wait now. Hoping there's nothing seriously wrong as I'm too old for free IVF and we can't afford to go privately. You must be getting excited with your IVF - how long before you can start?

How old are you?

39 is the limit to start treatment for IVF.

Well, they can always put you on clomid to give you a boost if you're slowing down a bit :)

I thinking June to start, so not long at all :D

Well i've finished cycle 4 of clomid and had my day 21 blood test last week and results show not ovulating :(, was ok last few months, hopefully just a blip as was a few days late last month so could explain it. Got referral back to fert clinic on 4th May as said to go back after 4 cycles of clomid. Trying to think positive but not happy about results

I sorry Eobrien

Are you already on the max dose of clomid?

Hopefully it was just a blip and they'll have an action plan for your when you see them :)

You still have options though, so don't be down about it

Hi Louise still on 50mg, bloods have been fine for first 3 months on clomid so a bit strange. in saying that AF still hasnt arrived and approx 1 week late, my periods had settled down and were regular so hopefully just a blip.
