They have a discounted rate on some Travel Lodges in Birmingham at the moment so instead of £49 for one night its £26

I've been looking too, The closest Travel Loge is a short bus ride away. I can't see anything within walking distance I'm afraid.

I remember looking at this last time and the City Centre stations were best, followed by 10 mins or so on the bus.

Not decided yet. Last years was August. We went for a Thursday too, that must have won the poll.

If its not going to cost alot to get there and stay over count me in! if not il pass :(

I know this is going a bit off subject... but how are things with him now? Is he doing his part? (sorry if im being nosey)

I don't mind meeting in birmingham,

but tbh somewhere in nottinghamshire would be better for me, as I live in hampshire for the meet would travel home to nottingham and stay there so would save me traveling twice if you get what I mean.

theres a couple of nice places to go too
theres wollaton park which has a museum and some lovely grounds and a park, not sure about the inside facilitys though if bad weather.

or Nottingham castle which again has some lovely grounds and and you can also tour the caves.

My fav though would be Sundown Adventureland it is great for little ones, a pets corner, soft indoor play area, small rides and lots of different areas including indoor play areas I used to love this place as a kid it used to be called Pet's Corner, take a look at the site ans see what you think.

the only thing is it cost £8 each, under 2's are Free but we can get it cheaper for group bookings (£6.50 each under 2's stillfree)

just a few thoughts

flossy if you do get the train to birmingham its only 5 mins then on the bus and the bus is over the road from the train station, any one getting the train we can all meet at the station then get the bus. :D

Violet glow - I'll be driving up from Cardiff if you want to car share, obviously depends on numbers as theres only 2 seatbelts in back, and I'll most probably stay over, but if your up for it we can discuss that nearer the time :D
