***September 2016 Mummies - the last lap***

Decided in my wisdom to drive an hour and a half away to a friend's house as couldn't face coming back to house on my own and worrying. Needless to say was bad idea. Her house was gross(!) and smelt of poo and BO and when she gave me a cup of tea in a dirty mug, I gagged (tmi) threw up a little! Dan was not happy with me for doing this... Driving so far, I mean!
Feel better about my house now, I tell you!
My mum has just had an operation so stressed about that as she has an infection now and on antibiotics... Just can't cope with her being unwell as she's my rock! Hoping she'll be fine.
I am going to stop putting things on Facebook! I put 'Braxton Hicks are awesome!' you know, as a joke and my sister in law who keeps hinting I am not going to cope with a new baby (I am 34 and married and stable and settled when I am having my baby, not 19 in a bad relationship with another teenager etc. Etc.) put, in a really aggravating, knowing way (that my friends and I call Knowing Parents Syndrome) 'You wait until the real thing.'
I just can't deal with this and she caught me at the wrong time! I replied, 'Oh I thought, contractions and labour were the easy part... Haha. Xx' Tried to make it seem breezy, but not sure it worked because then she put up some crap about your decisions about raising a child mean nothing as we had this conversation the other day about what I want to do with my baby and they were different to her decisions.
It's so petty. Sooooo petty, I know, but I can't not let her see my posts as she'll notice and comment and then I will get into trouble with my family and my brother.
We've said it before, but I will say it again. Why do people feel the need to gift you with their advice/comments when pregnant, especially when it's your first. Seriously, does anyone go into pregnancy/end of pregnancy thinking, oh labour will be a breeze!? I want to be light hearted and joke about things to my friends on Facebook and I just am going to have to stop as her (and her mother, if you can believe it!) decide to get involved and give me their expert advice!
Facebook is the devil!
I am sort of thinking, despite wanting September, if it happens now, it happens! Get it out!
Cat sat in my lap as soon as dinner finished! Currently cuddling bump...

Your friends house sounds disgusting ... I recommend a hot shower to wash the dirt and germs off and then another shower to be sure you are extra clean lol.

And no offence to your SiL but I would probably of slapped her by now lol

It's labour for a reason ... I remember not taking much advice off people ... Mainly because I'm awkward and stubborn ... Of course I did as the midwives told me, but one friend gave me the advice of not listening to others labour stories.
And to be fair, it is called labour for a reason.
I think some people get some kind of kick out of trying to scare the crap out others with it.
Ignore her, like I said its called labour for a reason ... It will hurt ... You won't care when your beautiful baby is in your arms :)

Facebook is crap for that reason, I purposely don't put a lot on Facebook for that reason, plus it is really difficult to not say rude things back to people.

And I have also been thinking get them out for a clue of weeks lol ... The end of pregnancy sucks x

SCL glad everything was fine xx

My male cat is very clingy and has been since the beginning, he spends all evening cuddling my bump and looks at it when baby kicks as if to say 'did you just kick me?' It's so funny!

Ah, MrsB. You've made me feel better again! Thank you. I am being extra hormonal :-0
Have deactivated Facebook for a while as it's just horrible! I am a 34 year old mother to be. I need to grow up!
Am ignoring. Going to iron baby clothes now they're all washed and pack hospital bag tomorrow and focus on the good things!
Male cats are supposed to be better at picking up on things actually, I heard, scn. Little sweeties.
My older girl liked the smell of the health visitor when she came and sat there licking her arm until I pulled her off. HV said, "Just to say that you shouldn't let the cats lick your baby's face when it comes because they lick their bottoms..." Haha. Yes. Can safely say I will not be letting them lick my baby's face!

You don't need to grow up, they do.

One of my dogs wanted to lick Liam when he was a newborn we stopped him for the first 5-6months and then let him, but my male dog - the licker - will be very confused next week as he adores Liam and never left his side when we came home from hospital it was adorable :) he was his little guard dog, and we are bringing 2 home this time so he isn't going to know where to put himself lol

Ironing baby clothes is one of the best chores ever :) x

I swear my back pains get a lot worse the closer I am getting, took me about 10 mins to sit up in bed :(

How's everyone feeling today

Naomi it's your last day of your last full week :)

My new units arrive tomorrow so my lounge will look pretty much complete, going to put some baby stuff in there so Liam and the dogs get used to it for a few days, only starting with one Moses basket though as they will both fit in one and I still need to buy a mattress for the other.

They are also going to share a cot while they can so I might research the best sleeping positions for them x

Baby has a very set routine... 11pm, 1am, 3am and then 6.30am. Was stupidly hot and sweaty all night and then after I got up it had started raining so the temperature finally dropped. Currently sat here on the couch enjoying feeling a bit cold. I won't freeze though, dog is sleeping alongside my leg. She's very warm!

I felt quite uncomfortable a lot of the night as well. My ankles had been swollen after going out most of yesterday and they really ached in the night. They've gone right down this morning though thankfully.

Baby had a big wriggle this morning and I think he's dropped more, can feel slight pressure at times now.

I'd like to go past Sunday though as we have lunch at my in-Law's with extra friends of theirs who also came to our wedding and then my friend's littlest's 1st Birthday party in the afternoon.

That's a very good routine :)

Minus the swelling I was too hot and sweaty last night too and thoroughly enjoying this rain and cool down, I bought the duvet down today rather than stay in bed, mainly because I am living in tshirt and knickers - that I have cut the elastic on lol. So my dogs have just taken over that.

My back is still killing me :( but figured that while it's already sore I would swap the couch and chair ... So that is me told off later when Chris gets back lol ... To be fair it moved surprisingly easy on the new carpet.

I am currently decided that I don't care if I don't make it to Tuesday but I can't go before tomorrow as I want my lounge finished first, so if I am in hospital tomorrow nobody will build my furniture so any when from Saturday night is good :) x

I love the logic Mrs B!

Not too sure what to do today, OH is working and then going to the football so I've got a full day to fill. I've got some mince out of the freezer to make some spag Bol, chilli and lasagne to have prepared for when the baby arrives, don't even know if we will use it but trying to fill the day.

I've still got 9 days of school to go back to in Sept, went in yesterday for results, was there 3 hours and came home and napped, 9 days should be fun! Role on mat leave!

X

At least you get a good rest in the summer holidays so those 9 days should be a breeze :)

I have had to break all rules and buy easy teas as my husband isn't the best of cooks and I can't stand at the oven for longer than 10 mins :(

I'm watching the Olympics again this afternoon and probably having a snooze lol my days are very boring at the moment x

Raining here too and thankful for the cooler temperature.
I'm doing nothing today as well, a day of feet up watching tv. Was going to do the ironing but DH said he'll do it tomorrow before his nightshift. I've not ironed any baby things and don't intend to either as they don't really need it and I'm not supposed to iron for longer than 10 minutes at a time so it just takes far too long to get any done lol (I've got joint hypermobility syndrome)
Might actually do a couple of small loads of washing, still got the baby's towels to do xx

Ooh yeah you will need those :), we have washed everything for babies now, we are literally just waiting for the babies to put in them lol.

I'm resting this afternoon before I over do it, I've already moved the couch and chair, and put one of the Moses baskets and bouncers in the lounge. So behaving now until Chris gets home, then I want to do a few more bits if he will let me. I have decided to make a 3rd hospital bag, not sure if you are doing the same Karen? But I decided to do a small bag of things I will need immediately such as formula, nappies, vests, grows, hats, cardigans, a dressing gown and slippers for me that way I won't be rummaging for things just beforehand x

Yeah I'm doing a third one to leave in the car for DH to bring in if we need any more stuff than I've already packed, it's just tricky cos we don't know how long we'll be in. I've been told average length of stay for section is 3 - 5 days, it significantly increases the amount if stuff you need if it's 5 days. So I've decided to revamp my bag and pack for 3 days and do the extra one for if we are in longer xx

Just thought ... I'll need to remember to pack shoes for myself in case this swelling goes completely after birth. I take a size 4 but currently wearing a size 6 due to the swelling

That's some bad swelling ... My hospital tend to only keep you in for 1 night after a section. Unless you need further help ... I suspect I am going to bleed like a trooper and get kept in for 2nights but I always like to prepare for the worst then it's a bonus when it goes better :), i think I have packed plenty but Chris will bring more if needed.

I haven't had any swelling at all I'm really impressed, I thought I would have with the extra load x

Not sure if baby is just annoyed by the elastic on these under bump maternity jeans or he's actually getting even further stuck in.... However my nipples are now having some shoring pains and I think there are tiny traces of colostrum escaping every so often. Not wet though... more like I keep finding tiny bits dried up- sorry if that's a little tmi!

Last full week done! Two two day weeks and then I've got a lovely week and a half off before baby gets here, if he or she isn't early!

Ah that's a lot of swelling Karen! I had a fair bit last time around but this time I haven't swelled at all really. Around 20 weeks I swelled a little but it went down and I'm back to being able to wear my wedding ring etc now.

That's awesome that you don't have to stay in long Caroline. After my section I had to stay a minimum of 3 days. Just wanted to be home!!

I'm feeling really guilty right now because I had a fair amount of an ice cream this afternoon. I've been so good keeping to this diet but millie had an ice cream and then didn't want it a little bit into it and instead of throwing it as I have been doing since the GD I ate it :-( :-( I'm so disappointed in myself but hoping that a one off won't hurt too much. Got a nice healthy dinner planned so hopefully all will be ok.

Roll on 12th September because my will power is quickly vanishing!!!

Off to a fete tomorrow but weather forecast is terrible so hoping there's plenty inside! Then got my parents coming over Sunday to look after millie for a couple of hours to give me a break.

Have had really uncomfortable cramping today around my knicker line by my inner right thigh. Think I remember it from last time and no doubt it's just to do with everything loosening up but it's not pleasant! Still got the hip pain too.

Hope everyone else is ok xxx

I have the dried up colostrum too
I have remained very uncomfortable today to the point of taking regular paracetamol that haven't helped x

Not long at work at all now Naomi, don't beat yourself up about the ice cream .... it was a one off and I would probably have done the same!
Yeah the swelling is terrible, can't even fit into the size 5 crocs I bought for kicking around and crocs are very roomy, my slippers are a 7-8
I'm currently wearing canvas ballet pumps cheap from Asda and they're turning my toes black with the dye and I can't get down to my toes to scrub them ...... they look disgusting even though they are clean!

Aww Naomi, a little bit of ice cream won't harm you :)
And yay to only having 4 shifts left, the 12th September will soon be here, I've lost my will power already.
I'm hoping to not be in hospital too long as I want to be at home being a family of 5 :)

And Karen I think you should get your other half to give your feet a really good scrub followed by a foot massage lol x
