Hi lovely ladies, ive not been posting much but have been lurking about.

After horrible HSG result - one tube is fine but it leads to my undersized, few follcile ovary, other tube is blocked with what they think is a polip (not sure of spelling) or a fibroid, had a lot to get head round.

I have been to see private doc again as NHS appointment isnt until september, and i am going to have a hysteroscopy to try to remove whatever is there. If it can be removed we will continue with clomid.

If they can't remove it or is there is nothing there to remove (just a tube defect) they said we can carry on for 6 months or so on clomid to see if can get small ovary to ovulate, then our next step is IVF. They are against IUI in our case as we are entirely self funding.

its been a lot to take in. This is only cycle 10 and for so much to have gone wrong and be at the point of likely having IVF at the end of this year at the latest is insane and a lot to get our heads around!!

Dont get me wrong I am greatfull we have been able to pay for private consultations and havent had to rely on the NHS, it is just a lot to take in. As usual it just help to get it out in written form to you ladies as the friend that know all this isnt as good as she is frickin pregnant and if you havent been in our shoes it is very hard to imagine.

xx

Hey honey! Glad to see you back and you most certainly have a good plan there. I totally understand what you mean about getting it all written down to focus your thoughts. Its hard to talk about it to pregnant friends at times. I really hope that you are really getting soneshere now!

Im glad you have a plan, makes it easier to focus on when you know what is coming next sometimes.

Can i ask you, where did you find out about private docs in your area and how much roughly did it cost? Im going to docs on weds but would like to get things moving.

Hi hun, nice to hear from you, glad you have a plan and hoping the procedure will unblock your tube. You are being really brave. Lotsa love & luck Kay xxx

Hi, sorry its been rough news, but the plan sounds good :-)

Hi michelle I just googled private hospitals in my area and I had a choice of 3 so I looked at the staff thay had and their experience and made a decision from there. Most websites will have a price list on it. We have spent about 700 so far and had 3 consultations, 2 rounds of bloods and an internal scan. Sounds like a lot but in my area on the nhs it would have taken a year to get just that done! I was very nervous that the private hospital would take the piss when it came to costs and tell us we needed stuff we didn't but I beleieve they haven't and where there hasn't been a wait on the nhs (well no more than a month) we were told just to wait as it will obviously be free!

If your worried about money you can use private to get say just one thing done to avoid a huge nhs queue. If u go private there is nothing to say u have to go the full hog with them. you won't lose your place or what your entitled to on the nhs either

Good luck with this. May be worth looking into clinics that may have the 'free evening' visit type things or just have a one of meeting with a consultant to see what they think.

Thanks to everyone else too x x x x

Thank you thats very helpful, will look into this as i think it might be wise to go private as you say to start with and then at least find out whats going on and then we can take if from there.
